Two men killed, two badly injured in crash caused by deer, Kane sheriff's office says
A four-vehicle crash triggered by a deer running across the road resulted in two people being killed and two seriously injured Sunday night at Plank and Switzer roads west of Elgin, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The accident occurred about 9:45 p.m. when 18-year-old Vance Peterson, driving a Ford F150 pickup truck westbound on Plank Road, went into oncoming traffic while unsuccessfully trying to avoid hitting the deer, a sheriff's office news release said. He collided head on with a GMC Sierra pickup pulling a trailer holding a skid steer loader.
Peterson's truck was then hit by a Dodge Ram, causing it to catch on fire, the report said.
Peterson was rescued after his pickup's driver-side window was broken out, but he received serious burns and fractures requiring him to be air-lifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, officials said.
Two passengers in the GMC — 31-year-old Erick Garcia-Porcayo and 25-year-old Rosalio Porcayo-Porcayowere — were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, identified as 22-year-old Yahir Porcayo-Porcayo, was flown by helicopter to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Both Peterson and Yahir Porcayo-Porcayo are in stable condition, according to the release.
The driver of the Dodge Ram — Baldemar Rodriguez-Lopez, 30 — was not injured.

The Colorado State Patrol is piecing together what happened when a driver heading the wrong way on Highway 76 reportedly caused a fatal crash Friday night. GMC damaged on front passenger side in wrong-way crash. Adams County Fire Rescue According to CSP, a GMC Sierra pickup truck, driven by a 62-year-old Denver resident, was driving east in the westbound lanes of Highway 76 near County Road MM3 just before 11 p.m. A woman driving a Honda west on the highway swerved to avoid the truck, but authorities said the truck's front passenger side struck the front passenger side of her car. The truck then rotated clockwise and rolled, coming to a rest in the road on its roof. The Honda reportedly continued east and drove off the road. CSP said the driver and passenger in the Honda were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Honda damaged on front passenger side in fatal crash. Adams County Fire Rescue Authorities said the passenger in the Honda, a 44-year-old man from Thornton, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The Honda driver and the driver of the Sierra were both taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. CSP said charges are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.

2 area men indicted after pursuit ending in wrong-way crash on I-75
Jun. 14—Two men have been indicted after they were accused of fleeing from police and causing a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75. James Robert Collins, 46, of Dayton and Thomas Russell Downey, 49, of Fairborn, were each indicted in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and obstructing official business. Collis was also indicted for one county of vehicular assault. According to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office, their charges stem from June 5, 2025. That evening, Collins was driving a GMC Sierra with no visible registration when a Perry Twp. police officer tried to pull the pickup truck over at Wolf Creek Pike and Diamond Mill Road, according to an affidavit filed in Montgomery County Municipal Court Western Division. Downey was riding in the truck bed, and there were two passengers in the truck, though the passengers are not facing charges. The pickup fled, but was tracked by an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter. During the pursuit, Downey started throwing lumber out of the bed of the truck, the affidavit said. The prosecutor's office said that law enforcement successfully deployed stop stick tire deflation devices on Little Richmond Road near Ohio 49. However, Collins managed to regain control while driving on rims, the affidavit said. He drove the pickup truck on the wrong side of the road on U.S. 35 West and on I-75 North, followed by deputies with lights and sirens activated, according to the sheriff's office. On I-75 at Dryden Road, the pickup truck crashed into another vehicle head-on, causing a crash that involved six vehicles. All four people in the pickup fled on foot but were taken into custody, the sheriff's office said. The prosecutor's office said that four people were injured and taken to the hospital, one of which was seriously hurt. They added that Collins' driver's license was suspended at the time. Collins and Downey are scheduled to be arraigned June 26.

FBI seek man wanted in Kildeer, Illinois bank robbery
Authorities are searching for a man they said robbed a bank Friday morning in far northwest suburban Kildeer. The FBI says he robbed a Bank of America on Rand Road around 10:30 a.m. Investigators said he gave a note to the teller implying he had a gun, but he didn't pull one out. He got away with an unspecified amount of cash and drove off in a newer model GMC Acadia. No Injuries were reported. The suspect was described as a white man about 5-feet-7-inches tall, 210 pounds, and around 60 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, gray shirt, and black and silver glasses. FBI Kildeer police and the FBI are asking anyone with information, specifically anyone who was driving a Tesla vehicle in the vicinity of the bank and the Whole Foods parking lot between 10 and 10:30 a.m., to contact the FBI Chicago North Office at 847-734-9833 or the Kildeer Police Department at 847-438-6644.
