Egypt: President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister and the Minister of Communications
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat; and Director of the Military Academy, Lieutenant-General Ashraf Zahir.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the meeting focused on the government's efforts regarding the "Digilians" initiative, which aims to qualify and train young people in the fields of communications, information technology, and software. This initiative is intended to serve as a cornerstone in the digital transformation process and enhance digital exports as part of the strategy for national economic development.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology offered an overview of the initiative's details. He noted that it focuses on providing training for employment by creating job opportunities in high-demand fields such as Artificial Intelligence, programming, cybersecurity, digital design, and digital arts. He added that the initiative will be open for registration to individuals of all age groups, from various academic and professional backgrounds, and from all Egyptian governorates, in an effort to expand the base of beneficiaries.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that applications to join the initiative would be digital, and that the application window would open on the platform that will be created for this purpose after Eid Al-Fitr holiday. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will announce this, as the goal is to qualify the largest possible number of young people to work in the most in-demand fields in the information labor market. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology noted that the initiative is based on the idea of full residency for its beneficiaries in equipped places, with an agreement reached with the Military Academy to utilize the buildings of the War College in Heliopolis for this purpose after the college's relocation to the New Administrative Capital.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology said the initiative will include providing comprehensive training courses for the beneficiaries, whether technical training, personal skills, or English language. It will also include practical training in cooperation with major international and local companies operating in Egypt. Dr. Talaat added that the initiative includes tracks to obtain a master's degree from a number of the most prestigious international universities, in addition to four training tracks ranging in duration from four months to two years. The goal is to accept 5000 students annually to benefit from the initiative, taking into account that the cost of preparing accommodation and study spaces will amount to approximately three billion Egyptian pounds, while the cost of training courses will amount to approximately one billion Egyptian pounds annually.
President El-Sisi gave directives to reinforce the criteria of accuracy, transparency, and impartiality in the beneficiary selection process, in order to foster public confidence in the initiative, particularly since it will help qualify its beneficiaries to join the jobs required in the labor market.

Municipal oversight is mandatory, so the procedures are clear and regulated.'Shujaa also highlighted the app's gifting and donation services: 'We work with organisations like the Emirates Red Crescent, and others.'On the use of technology, he noted: 'The application itself uses artificial intelligence to respond to customers, and the cutting and packaging equipment is electric.'Khaled Almessabi, Manager of the Halal Mazrana app, said the platform ensures the freshness of the meat and allows the customers to manage the delivery.'Slaughtering takes place immediately after the Eid prayer, at municipality-approved slaughterhouses. The customer can also select from various farm and livestock owners based on their prices and delivery times.'All sacrifices are handled by the approved slaughterhouses, in line with the procedures adopted at the slaughterhouse itself, with the presence of a veterinarian.'The app is integrated with Abu Dhabi and Al Ain municipalities for seamless service delivery. ADAFSA Awareness Campaign The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority is intensifying its efforts to raise public awareness about the importance of slaughtering livestock in licensed campaign aims to curb random slaughter practices and dealings with unlicensed butchers, reinforcing biosecurity measures and public health standards to prevent zoonotic diseases that can spread between humans and emphasises that slaughtering in regulated abattoirs plays a vital role in ensuring public health. Abattoirs across Abu Dhabi offer controlled environments that minimise contamination risks, ensuring that carcasses are processed in clean and hygienic conditions and preventing inspections before and after slaughter guarantee the safety of meat for human consumption. Qualified and legally licensed butchers oversee the process, while waste management protocols ensure the safe disposal of slaughtering by-products, aligning with biosecurity also ensures that Islamic slaughtering guidelines — including proper positioning, recitation, precise cutting techniques for efficient bleeding, and full exsanguination — are adhered to, as poor bleeding due to fever or improper cutting can compromise meat quality. ADAFSA's campaign encourages residents to utilise Abu Dhabi's modern abattoirs, which adhere to high safety and hygiene standards, ensuring that slaughtered meat is safe for consumption.

Sharjah and Fujairah Rulers pardon 551 inmates ahead of Eid al-Adha
The Rulers of Sharjah and Fujairah on Tuesday ordered the release of a combined number of 551 inmates ahead of Eid al-Adha. H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, ordered the release of 112 prisoners, while H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, pardoned 439 inmates. Those selected reportedly displayed good conduct and behaviour. The pardons announcements came shortly after President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of 963 prisoners across the country. The release of prisoners are reportedly intended to be goodwill gestures by the Rulers of the UAE, often conducted during religious holidays.

SEC approves unified guide for commercial signage in Sharjah

The guide provides design principles, permit processes, and regulatory standards for signage, aiming to create an attractive and well-organised urban environment. It covers categories such as shop signs, directional signage, and promotional boards, along with placement criteria and supervision protocols. Sharjah reinforces family and social values The Council reviewed several ongoing social initiatives aimed at strengthening Emirati families, nurturing intergenerational bonds, and upholding national, cultural, and religious identity. These efforts are part of Sharjah's broader social vision to preserve community values while supporting growth and cohesion within local households.
