The suspects forced their way into a property on Lipson Road in Plymouth, Devon, at around 03:55 GMT on Friday and threw acid over the occupant.
The male victim remains in hospital in a serious condition. The suspects are both described as being black males in their early 20s, wearing all black clothing.
Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing to people in the Grittleton area of Wiltshire to check their CCTV, doorbell footage and dash-cams.
It is believed they were in and around the Grittleton area, close to the M4, on Friday morning.
Officers are particularly interested in identifying and speaking to a driver who is believed to have given the two suspects a lift.
The incident was being treated as an isolated and "targeted attack", police added.
Anybody with information is asked to call Devon and Cornwall Police on 101.

Ukraine drones attack on Moscow forces airport closure, Russia says

A Ukrainian drone attack targeting Moscow forced the closure of two of the key airports serving the capital, Russian authorities said early on Sunday. Russia air defence units destroyed nine Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow by 0400 GMT, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on the Telegram messaging app. Emergency services were dispatched to the sites where drone debris fell in the overnight attack, Sobyanin said. He did not report any immediate damage. A Ukrainian drone attack also sparked a short-lived fire at the Azot chemical plant in the Tula region, injuring two people, and seven drones were destroyed over the Kaluga region, regional governors said. Both regions border the Moscow region to the south of the capital. Reuters could not independently verify the reports. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine. Russia's civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia said on Telegram that to ensure air safety it was halting flights at the Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. Russia and Ukraine have increased their attacks in recent weeks while also returning to peace talks for the first time since the early days of the war that Russia launched against Ukraine in February 2022.

Man drives into a crowd in Germany's Passau, injuring several

A man drove a car into a group of people in the southern German city of Passau on Saturday, injuring several people, police said. Five people are being treated in hospital, including the man's wife, 38, and their 5-year-old daughter, according to a police spokesman. The severity of their injuries was not immediately known. The incident occurred at 3:30 pm (1330 GMT). Passers-by alerted the police. Police detained the driver, 48, and have not ruled out that he drove into the crowd on purpose, though that is currently unclear. Police suspect the incident may be linked to his relationship, the spokesman said. "The criminal police are on site and have taken over the investigation," he added. In February, a car drove into a demonstration march in Munich. Two of the injured - a woman and her 2-year-old child - later died in hospital.

Arson probe after tent with dog inside set on fire

An arson investigation has been launched after a tent which had a dog inside of it was set on fire. Police say the dog was rescued unharmed from the tent which was set alight outside Tesco Express on High Street, Cheltenham on 30 March between 03:15 and 03:30 GMT. Fire crews believe the blaze, which was put out by members of the public, was started deliberately. Gloucestershire Police have released a CCTV image of a man who might have witnessed what happened. More news stories for Gloucestershire Listen to the latest news for Gloucestershire Passers-by helped extinguish the fire and moved it away from buildings to prevent it spreading, the force said. They believe a man who was seen wearing a white top and dark trousers in new CCTV footage could help them. "He was seen talking to a man who was dressed in dark clothing with his hood up prior to the blaze", police said. They also want to hear from anyone else who might have interacted with the man in dark clothing. They have also urged anyone with any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to get in contact.
