MP: Ratlam hosts landmark 'MP RISE 2025' conclave, paving way for Industrial surge

Ratlam: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 8th Regional Industry, Skill and Employment (RISE) Conclave on Friday at Nehru Stadium in Ratlam, marking a pivotal moment in Madhya Pradesh's industrial advancement. He performed the Bhoomi Pujan and launched 47 industrial units valued at over Rs 1,670 crore with a single click, underscoring the state's commitment to rapid industrial growth and employment generation. These projects are expected to create more than 3,780 new jobs, reinforcing the government's focus on employment-led development. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that a satellite township would soon come up in Ratlam to accommodate devotees attending Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain, facilitating their stay and gradual movement into the month-long religious congregation. Besides, a textile park sponsored by the Central government will soon come up in Dhar district. The event, themed 'Successful Entrepreneurs, Prosperous Industries, Inclusive Growth', attracted over 3,500 industrialists and investors from across India. More than 5,000 participants had registered on the Invest MP portal, reflecting the conclave's growing national prominence. This is the first time such a conclave was held at a district headquarters, highlighting Ratlam's emergence as a strategic industrial centre. Chief Minister Yadav also laid the foundation stone for the BJP's new district office near Pratapnagar. The upcoming 24,600 square-foot facility, replacing the existing cramped office on Palace Road, is being constructed on land purchased for Rs 67.36 lakh. State General Secretary Bhagwandas Sabnani had earlier overseen the registration process. The conclave showcased over 100 industry-based stalls featuring innovations from MSMEs and startups. Five self-made entrepreneurs shared their journeys, and a book chronicling their stories was released to inspire aspiring business leaders. State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Chetan Kashyap stated that the conclave would accelerate Ratlam's transformation into the state's second-largest industrial zone. He also announced the distribution of land allotment certificates to over 500 enterprises and loan disbursement of Rs 1,000 crore to support more than one lakh youth in self-employment ventures. The event also featured the virtual inauguration of new industrial areas in Rewa, Sagar, Alirajpur, and Pithampur. Notably, 16 new industrial zones worth Rs 243 crore and 11 state-level clusters were launched. These initiatives are expected to attract investment proposals totalling Rs 2,850 crore and generate over 5,450 jobs. With 2025 declared as the 'Year of Industry and Employment', the RISE 2025 Conclave marks a significant step toward Madhya Pradesh's goal of inclusive and self-reliant development.

KINARA CAPITAL MSME INSIGHTS REVEAL STRONG OPTIMISM

Over 81% of MSMEs Expect Revenue Increase in the Next 1-2 Years BENGALURU, India, June 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Kinara Capital, a leading fintech driving MSME financial inclusion, today released its fourth edition of MSME Insights, signaling strong optimism and increased formalization in the MSME sector. MSME entrepreneurs are confident about their near-term business growth prospects. According to the latest MSME Insights, 81% of the surveyed MSMEs expect their business revenue to increase within the next 1-2 years. Of these, 34% anticipate a revenue growth of more than 15% in their businesses. Additionally, MSMEs are embracing formalization, with 51.7% of the surveyed reporting that they are now GST-registered. The MSME Insights is a comprehensive data analysis of current trends of micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs) based on firsthand input from business owners. MSME Insights also delved into the behavioral patterns within the MSME sector and the analysis uncovered a striking pattern across all sectors. MSMEs still depend significantly on cash transactions, even when not accounting for UPI usage. Over 84.3% of the surveyed MSMEs stated that between 25%-to-100% of their business transactions are conducted with actual cash—underscoring the need for deeper digitization efforts across the sector. Sharing her perspective, Hardika Shah, Founder & CEO, Kinara Capital, said, "On the occasion of World MSME Day, it is encouraging to witness the strong optimism shared by India's MSMEs. The fact that 81% of respondents in our recent MSME Insights survey expressed confidence in their growth prospects speaks volumes about the sector's resilience and ambition. This optimism is rooted in improved access to formal credit, which enables entrepreneurs to focus on expansion. However, the sector's continued reliance on cash transactions highlights the need to accelerate digitization. Embracing digital payments can enhance financial transparency and significantly boost access to formal credit. Ultimately, digitization holds the key to reaching underserved MSMEs and closing India's ₹30 lakh crore credit gap." KEY FINDINGS FROM KINARA CAPITAL'S MSME INSIGHTS, FOURTH EDITION • MSMEs are upbeat about their business growth: More than 81% of the respondents have indicated that they are expecting varying degrees of growth in their revenue. Of these, 47% of the respondents expect their revenue to witness a 5%-15% growth, 26.1% anticipate a growth of 15%-25% and 7.9% are optimistic of more than 25% growth in revenue. Only a small proportion, i.e., 1.1% foresee no growth. • Cash is King for MSMEs: Overall, 84.3% of the surveyed MSMEs reported relying on cash (excluding UPI) for 25%-to-100% of their business transactions. While only 7.4% of the MSME respondents relied on cash for more than 75% of their business transactions, 30.5% depended on cash for 50%-to-75% of their business transactions. This outcome indicates that a shift to digital payments, though underway, is far from reaching its full potential. • Formalization is on an Upswing: MSMEs are increasingly recognizing the benefits of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance. According to the survey, 51.7% of respondents are GST-registered and file returns regularly. Of these, 29.4% expressed interest in GST-linked loan products that offer better interest rates or flexible tenures. Regular GST filings not only reflect consistent business activity but also provide a verifiable financial history that enhances credit eligibility. Additionally, GST registration reduces the overall tax burden through input tax credits and offers MSMEs the ease of doing business across state lines with a unified tax structure. The fourth edition of MSME Insights is based on an extensive multilingual survey of 9,314 MSMEs from Manufacturing, Trading, and Services sectors conducted across Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Dispute resolution portal to speed up delayed payment cases for MSEs: Prez

President Droupadi Murmu said the online dispute resolution portal launched on Friday will help expedite hearings and decision-making in cases related to delayed payments to micro and small enterprises (MSEs). Speaking on the occasion of World MSME Day, President Murmu outlined the key challenges faced by MSME, such as access to finance, competition with big corporations and delayed payments. She said the number of registered MSMEs has grown rapidly as a result of the government's efforts. "The online dispute resolution portal launched today (Friday) will prove significant in expeditious hearing and decision-making in cases related to delayed payments," the President said. She appealed to young women to take advantage of government schemes to establish businesses and become self-reliant. The President observed that the world today is grappling with challenges emanating from climate change and rapidly evolving technology. Asserting that India is committed to climate change and sustainability goals, she said promoting green technology in MSMEs was the need of the hour. "This (green technology) will not only improve the sustainability of MSMEs and their competitiveness but also help achieve the country's climate goals," Murmu said. She emphasised that innovation is critical for sustainability of MSMEs, and shared that the government was promoting a culture of innovation by startups in various ways. Calling upon MSMEs to encourage grass-root level innovation, the President exhorted them to play a key role in the 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' vision. MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said MSMEs alone are providing employment to 34 crore people across the nation. Currently, cases worth Rs 50,000 crore are pending with Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC), a body established by state governments to resolve payment-related disputes between MSEs and their buyers. The online dispute resolution portal has been established as a sub-scheme under the online dispute resolution mechanism under RAMP with World Bank assistance. Cases can be filed by micro and small entrepreneurs in instances of delayed payments using the portal. They have to enter the Udyam registration number to auto fetch details of their enterprise. Thereafter, the portal will inform regarding the date of hearing of the case which will be conducted via virtual conference. The portal provides online resolution via conciliation and arbitration.
