Announcing his expulsion from the party, Congress said, 'Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expelled Laxman Singh, Former MLA, Madhya Pradesh, from the primary membership of the party for a period of six years due to his anti-party activities".

Days after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 civilians were killed, the Congress leader had lashed out at the remarks by Robert Vadra — who said that the terrorists gave a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that 'Muslims are feeling weakened" in India — stating that the businessman's statement 'poses a threat to the security of the country".
'Robert Vadra's statement that the terrorists attacked because they did not allow Muslims to offer namaz on the road is not only irresponsible but also a statement that poses a threat to the security of the country. I am saying all this in front of the camera, so that no one is confused. Congress should think 10 times before speaking, otherwise the public will answer in the elections," he had said.

Condolences pour in for victims of Ahmedabad air crash
The country's leadership stood united in grief and expressed condolences for those who lost their lives when a London-bound Air India plane carrying 242 passengers and crew crashed in a residential area in Ahmedabad minutes after taking off. President Droupadi Murmu in a post on 'X' said that she was deeply distressed to learn about the 'heart-rending disaster'. 'My thoughts and prayers are with the affected people. The nation stands with them in this hour of indescribable grief,' she said. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar also expressed his 'thoughts and prayers' for all those affected. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the tragedy had 'stunned and saddened' everyone. 'It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.' Chief Justice of India B.R.
