Cision Canada13-05-2025

TORONTO, May 13, 2025 /CNW/ -- Sabio Holdings (TSXV: SBIO) (OTCQB: SABOF) (the " Company" or " Sabio"), a Los Angeles-based ad-tech company specializing in helping top global brands reach, engage, and validate (R.E.V.) streaming TV audiences, announced today special monthlong programming, and recognition of members from its leadership team celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month on Creator Television ® (Creator TV).
Creator TV is the first creator-led streaming network and content studio dedicated to bringing the authenticity and energy of social media storytelling to TV. AANHPI Heritage Month, an annual observance since 1992, celebrates the contributions of the AANHPI community to American history, culture, and society.
Throughout the month of May, Creator TV network's Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channel will feature some of the world's most entertaining social stars, including Malaysia's Uncle Roger, The Fake Food Show with Evan Yee (Chinese American content creator), and QPark (South Korean American content creator), along with other tentpole content creators Jenny Lorenzo, Trey Kennedy, Lenarr Young, and Julie Nolke.
Additionally, the month is a time to recognize leaders from the AANHPI community behind the scenes of Sabio and Creator TV. Led by CEO and Co-Founder Aziz Rahimtoola, Sabio is National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)-certified, which requires that a business be at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by minority group members. Sabio is also one of the advertising technology industry's fastest growing companies. "Our mission is to build a more inclusive and diverse media ecosystem where all voices are represented," said Rahimtoola. Reflecting on his own background, he added, "I'm a proud first generation Muslim Indian American and father. To bring Creator TV to life for my daughter to see faces like hers and others is a dream achieved. At Creator TV, we welcome inclusive and authentic voices."
Creator TV's General Manager Joe Ochoa said, "As a Filipino American, I grew up not seeing myself on screen. When I started working in TV nearly 20 years ago, I didn't see anyone who looked like me in the executive ranks. Today, I'm proud to be part of an organization that embraces diversity of thought at the leadership level, and all levels. At Creator TV, we lean into our nuances, our lived experiences, our unique sensibilities. This is seen throughout our network and the content we provide. I love that I can help make space for the next generation of great storytellers." Ochoa continued, "It's important to celebrate the achievements of today's leaders and encourage younger generations to go beyond what they think is possible. This month is also an opportunity to share our culture and stories with other communities. It creates conversations that promote understanding and appreciation, not just in May, but all year round."
Creator TV's Head of Operations Kristi Chiou said, "AANHPI Heritage Month is a time of reflection and pride. I grew up in a traditional Taiwanese American home where success meant becoming a doctor or a lawyer, but I followed my passion for music, which led me to a creative career in media." Chiou explained further, "Early on, I saw how few women and people of color held leadership roles. As an AANHPI executive at Creator TV, I'm proud to be part of that shift. I take pride in being part of the change in front of and behind the camera — helping shape stories and opportunities that reflect the real diversity of the world we live in."

Meet the Host of "My Southern Home," Kimberly Greenwell

Share with your friends! Pinterest LinkedIn Email Flipboard Reddit With a lifelong passion for media and homes, Kimberly Greenwell has built a career that blends both. She's a home expert, realtor, and the host of My Southern Home. Now in its 20th season, her Nashville-based TV show educates and inspires viewers to create their dream spaces. Get to know this powerhouse FACE of the South! Pin You have a lot going on! How would you describe yourself in a few sentences? That is a hard question; there are two sides to every coin. Everyone's a little different from nine to five than they are with friends. I hope people find me friendly, open, and helpful in both environments. Giving is part of my love language. I love sharing my home with friends and family, cooking for them, and using my favorite glassware and platters. It is my happy place! Tell us about the path that led to My Southern Home. My path has led me directly (and sometimes indirectly) to where I needed to be, like little stepping stones. When I started my own business, one of my first clients was the Home Builders Association of Louisville. It wasn't until this moment that I realized how much I loved homes — everything about them, from footers and framing to the finished and staged design. I was the publicist for all of their consumer-driven events. In 2015, a local television station asked me to host and produce a local television home show. At that moment, an old love and a new love joined: broadcast television and homes. My life hasn't been the same since. What's your favorite thing about hosting the show? My favorite part about what I do is helping people! Once, I was at a restaurant with a girlfriend, and a viewer came up to me and shared how thankful she was. She was remodeling her home, and I helped her find the right contractors and figure out what she wanted in her kitchen. That is my 'why,' and my goal with every show is to educate and inspire on everything 'home.' Pin What's the most challenging aspect of what you do? I'm the executive producer and host of the show, so part of my duties as the executive producer is to schedule and organize the shoots for the spring and fall seasons. I manage the entire schedule, from the topics to where and who we are taping. For seven years, we produced 48 to 50 episodes a year and traveled back and forth between Louisville and Nashville. It was grueling and a lot to keep up with. Now, we produce half the episodes in just Nashville, and it feels like a breeze. What are you working on or excited about right now? I am really proud of the My Southern Home Tour of Homes. For two years, I have organized a scatter-site new construction home tour. The homes are all over Middle Tennessee and in various price ranges. Homeownership looks different to everyone and starts at different price ranges. That is why I have townhomes and single-family homes that people can tour at various price ranges. I have already started working on next year. Pin What do you like to do outside of work? I love hanging out with friends, volunteering, exploring Nashville, and spending time with my dog, Bailey. What's one thing you want people to know about you? Sometimes, people get intimidated by the fact that I'm in a lot of luxury homes and think I have certain expectations of what a home should look like. But I wish they knew that for over 20 years, I lived in a one-bedroom condo that I bought in my twenties, working at WAVE 3-TV. I loved my condo; it was home, and I made it home by filling it with items that brought me joy. A person's home should bring them joy and make them feel safe; it doesn't matter what the square footage is or the thread count of the sheets. It is all about the feeling it gives you. What's your favorite piece of advice for folks who are building or remodeling? Be authentically you. If you want a purple kitchen, paint it purple. If you want a small home, get a small home. Don't design your home or your life around what others think. It is your home and your life, so create the home and life you want. Pin What is your proudest accomplishment? People thought I would fall 'flat on my face' when I started My Southern Home in 2017. In 2021, I had not one, but four television shows. More than one person said downsizing to Nashville would be my biggest mistake. I work one-on-one with buyers to find their dream homes, have two successful home tours under my belt, and have a social life. I am helping more people one-on-one and love the life I am building here. Pin What's the best advice you've ever received? My boss, Nick Ulmer, the General Manager at WAVE 3-TV, always told me, 'You don't get 100% of the things you don't ask for.' I left WAVE 3-TV in 2007, and I say this to myself every time I'm scared to pursue something. You will never regret going after something and falling short, but you will always regret the what-if that comes with not going after a dream. Aside from faith, family, and friends, name three things you can't live without. First is my dog Bailey. He is a three-year-old Morkie, and I can't imagine life without him. This second one might sound odd, but downtime. I need time to myself to unwind and recharge. And I love adventure! I love weekend getaways to places I have never been to and experiencing new things. ********** Southern women are doing inspiring work. Meet more of them over at our FACES archives! About the Author Lennie Omalza Lennie is a Southern-based freelance writer. Originally from Hawaii, she is a yoga-loving foodie who travels as often as she can.

Montreal actor focused on directing but has ideas for ‘White Lotus' after breakout performance

Since her breakout role in Season 3 of HBO's hit dramedy White Lotus, acting offers have been pouring in for Charlotte Le Bon. But for now, the Montreal native is just not interested. 'Making films is my main focus more than acting, to be honest,' Le Bon said during a sit-down interview in Toronto Thursday. Le Bon recently returned from the Cannes Film Festival, where she held meetings in search of a financing partner for her sophomore feature — a still-untitled Montreal-shot drama exploring themes of loss. 'It's autobiographique,' says the bilingual actor, reluctant to reveal too much. 'It's a very, very personal movie and I think the goal is to try to make a very light-hearted movie on grief. It's a challenge, but that's what I'm aiming for.' Story continues below advertisement The Montreal-based Le Bon was in town for Bell Media's 2025-26 programming showcase, where Etalk hosts interviewed her during a splashy event for media buyers about the last season of The White Lotus, which streams on Crave. In Mike White's eat-the-rich anthology series she plays Chloe, a socially savvy French-Canadian expat living in Thailand with her much older boyfriend, and the series' main antagonist, Greg, who now goes by 'Gary.' She's seemingly unaware of Greg's history: in Season 2, he pulled off a plot to murder his wife Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge, in order to inherit her wealth. Le Bon says she was ready to take a hiatus from acting when she was offered the White Lotus role. Though she'd built a successful career — with roles opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the 2015 biographical drama The Walk and Christian Bale in the 2016 war epic The Promise — her passion had shifted to working behind the camera. Her 2023 horror-romance Falcon Lake, which she directed and co-wrote, premiered at Cannes to strong critical acclaim. 4:29 Eric reviews The Promise 'I was thinking about taking a break from acting because I was like, 'Oh, I don't know if I still like it.' I was just asking myself some questions about it… I sometimes played characters that were not really inspiring for me for some reason,' she says. Story continues below advertisement 'And then White Lotus arrived and I was like, 'There's no way I can not do this. It's just an amazing opportunity'… Between the moment where I sent the self-tape and the moment I was in the plane flying to Thailand, there were probably like 10 days.' 'It's kind of overwhelming when you're taking part in such an important thing in culture. Even when it started to come out, when I started to see memes on it on social media, it was really exciting,' she says. While acting isn't her current focus, Le Bon says she would be down to return for Season 4 — and has some ideas about how it could play out. 'If their relationship is based on true love, which I think it is, then maybe she'll come back with Greg, because Greg has to come back, for sure,' she says. Le Bon muses that Chloe could be Greg's accomplice or even the one who serves him his inevitable comeuppance. 'She could either become Greg's ally and they can be like a duo of villains, or she can maybe be the one who will create the karma for Greg. Maybe she'll give it to him,' she says. Story continues below advertisement 'He has to get it at some point, so we'll see what happens.' 2:07 The Canadian composer behind 'The White Lotus' soundtrack While Chloe's relationship with Greg may seem transactional on the surface, Le Bon argues the two share a deeper 'understanding' of one another. 'I think what she likes in this relationship is she thinks she's found a way to be free… just by spending a lot of money and partying and having sex with whoever she wants,' Le Bon says. 'I think they find an agreement by the end of the season where it's clear that's her intention and maybe he can take part in this and have fun with it as well.' If that setup sounds peculiar, Le Bon says that's just the kind of thing that interests her. Story continues below advertisement 'There needs to be a singular aspect to a part that really inspires me in order for me to move my butt and be an actress again,' she says. 'It needs to be weird.'
