HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Meets with Fikra Finalists and Winners

Gudaibiya: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the finalists and winners of the sixth Government Innovation Competition, 'Fikra,' at Gudaibiya Palace. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted that the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa continues to be marked by a wide range of achievements, laying the foundation for future success across various development sectors. His Royal Highness attributed this progress to the determination and excellence of all members of Team Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad congratulated the finalists, acknowledging that their creativity and innovation had earned them a place in the final stage of the competition. His Royal Highness wished the finalists success in further advancing government workstreams through their initiatives and solutions, contributing to the benefit of the Kingdom and its citizens.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister honoured the creators of the 12 final concepts, emphasising the importance of efficient implementation to achieve their intended purpose. The 12 finalists expressed their gratitude to His Royal Highness for his support of Bahraini citizens and for involving them in the Kingdom's development efforts, which contribute to enhancing government services in alignment with the Kingdom's desired goals.
The winning concepts were chosen following a series of evaluations, with 12 concepts advancing to the final stage, which included presentations to a Ministerial Committee and a public vote. The winners included the 'Hayat plus' Application, presented by Major Hamad Subah Al Swar and Major Salem Subah Al Swar from the Ministry of Interior; the National Points System (Kafu) presented by Manar Ahmed Thani from the Prime Minister's Office; and 'Taqyeemk' Mandatory Yearly Cybersecurity Assessments, presented by Captain Engineer Jassim Isa AlObaidly, Captain Engineer Khalid Mohammed Saif, and Captain Engineer Khalifa Noaman Alhassan from the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), which won the public vote.
In addition to the three winners, other qualifying concepts were: Aman by Major Engineer Dr. Musab Ali Alkhaldi, Captain Engineer Aysha Salah Alyasi, Captain Engineer Abdulrahman Abdulla AlKhaja, Captain Engineer Haya Nabeel Almahmeed from the Ministry of Interior; The Friendly Family by Lulwa Isa AlMehri from the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA); The National Program for the Rehabilitation of Autism (Taif) by Muhannad Sulaiman Alnoaimi from the Ministry of Information and Dr. Sofia Ahmed Hashim from the Bahrain Teachers College (BTC); Stars by Mooza Ebrahim Al Hadi from the University of Bahrain; E-Vaccine by Aysha Qamar Buali from the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs; Play to Learn by Nayla Mohamed AlKaabi from the Education and Training Quality Authority; Updating Periodic Child Examination Services by Dr. Nuha Jamal Alzayani from the University of Bahrain; Bahrain Virtual School by Shaikha Ebrahim AlBuainain from the Ministry of Sustainable Development; and 'Fareed' Educational Platform by
Yaqoob Khalid Al Qassab from the National Space Science (NSSA).
The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa; the Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa; the Minister of Interior, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; the Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa; along with several senior officials.

This achievement underscores the distinguished position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the ICT sector and its commitment to nurturing and empowering national competencies to contribute to technological and innovative advancement both regionally and globally. On this occasion, Bahrain Polytechnic celebrated the outstanding achievement of its students, Mohammed AlKoofi and Sara Jawad, who were part of the Bahraini team that won first place in the Network Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2024 – 2025 Global Finals. Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, CEO of Bahrain Polytechnic, received the participating students and expressed his pride in their success, which reflects the high caliber of Polytechnic students and the institution's practical learning approach. He emphasised that this achievement is a clear testament to the ability of young Bahraini talents to compete and excel at the international level. Professor Ó Catháin said: 'Our students' victory in a global competition of this caliber is a testament to the quality of education at Bahrain Polytechnic and the capabilities of our youth. This success highlights our strategic focus on equipping students with the technical and professional skills required to lead in the digital age. Through strong partnerships with industry leaders like Huawei, we are creating real-world learning opportunities that prepare our students for impactful careers.' Harry Yu, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, also congratulated the students, noting: 'This achievement reflects Huawei's firm commitment to developing local ICT talent in Bahrain through strategic partnerships with leading educational institutions. The visit comes under the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, and reflects Bahrain's commitment to staying ahead of the curve by aligning with the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) vision to digitize travel documents. In a series of high-level meetings with Finnish officials, including Mr. Matti Sarasmaa, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, and Mr. Ilkka Koskimäki, National Police Commissioner, both sides explored avenues for collaboration on digital travel identity projects. The talks centered on adopting international and European standards to ensure secure, seamless, and future-ready solutions for travelers.
