Spain draws Sweden in semifinals of Women's Nations League. Germany gets France
NYON, Switzerland (AP) — World champion Spain will continue its defense of the UEFA Women's Nations League title against Sweden in the semifinals after the draw was made on Friday.
Spain will host the first leg on Oct. 24 and the return is four days later in Sweden.

Germany hosts France first in the other semifinal played on the same dates. France was beaten by Spain 2-0 in Seville in the inaugural final last year.
The 2025 final is scheduled over two legs, on Nov. 28 and Dec. 2.
All four teams advanced to the finals stage by finishing atop groups that started in February and finished this week — effectively as warmups for the Women's European Championship. Only France won six straight games.
First, all four head to the 16-team Euro 2025 that starts on July 2 in Switzerland.
Germany and Sweden are in the same Euros group. France is in a tough group with the past two European champions, England and the Netherlands.
Spain, the 2023 Women's World Cup winner, starts its Euro 2025 campaign against Portugal on July 3 in Bern.

England was held scoreless by a team ranked 173rd in the world until Kane redirected a pass from Noni Madueke into the top of the net in the 50th minute after the Bayern Munich striker's initial effort was saved by goalkeeper Iker Álvarez. Advertisement It was goal No. 72 in his 106th appearance for the Three Lions. Tuchel's side remained top of Europe's Group K with nine points after wins against Albania and Latvia. They have yet to concede a goal under the German coach. Andorra is winless. England dominated possession and Eberechi Eze went close to a second goal when he forced Álvarez to tip his header of the bar as the visitors couldn't extend the lead. England had won its previous six meetings with Andorra by a combined score of 25-0. The game was played at Espanyol's stadium in Barcelona, nearly three hours south of the Pyrenees principality — which has a population of around 80,000 — due to concerns that work on Andorra's home stadium wouldn't be finished in time. Advertisement Ezri Konsa had to block a late shot by Andorra's Guillaume Lopez to prevent the chance of an equalizer. Only the group winners qualify directly for next year's tournament in North America. The second-placed teams go into a playoffs. Chase Briscoe wins third straight pole and NASCAR-high 4th pole at Michigan International Speedway
BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) — Chase Briscoe won his third straight pole and NASCAR -high fourth this year at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday. Briscoe, driving the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, turned a lap of 195.514 mph in qualifying on the 2-mile oval in the fastest pole in the Cup Series since Ryan Blaney went 200-plus mph at Texas in 2018. He is aiming for his first win this year after five top-five finishes, and the third victory of his career. 'It will be nice starting up front and we've been able to do that now three weeks in a row but haven't been able to execute with it," Briscoe said. 'So, hopefully third time is a charm.'
