Crisp, a platform specialising in retail data collaboration, has completed the purchase of UK-based companies Atheon Analytics (SKUtrak) and ClearBox Analytics (ClearView). Financial details of the transactions have not been made public.
Both the acquired companies facilitate the integration of supply chain information between large retail chains and their suppliers of consumer packaged goods (CPG).
Through these strategic acquisitions, Crisp now offers CPG brands enhanced insight into data across key retail channels in both the US and UK markets.
SKUtrak is instrumental in aiding CPG vendors and retailers by providing crucial insights into consumer demand. ClearBox Analytics offers insights into grocery retail, food service and supply chain metrics for some of the world's prominent CPG brands.
Atheon Analytics' SKUtrak service aims to make grocery retailer data more accessible and actionable to minimise waste and enhance product availability.
The platform delivers detailed SKU data to CPG brands that distribute products through leading UK retailers such as Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Waitrose.
Crisp's acquisition of Atheon enhances its proficiency in the UK retail market and augments its international visibility for global manufacturers.
ClearBox Analytics is similarly adept at merging enterprise resource planning data with trade spend and retailer information, offering visibility to executives in finance, supply chain management and sales.
The inclusion of ClearBox into Crisp's portfolio expands the company's reach into commercial food services and offers advanced dashboard reporting tools, which will be useful for extensive supply chain management and executive-level review.
ClearBox's clientele includes major international brands such as KraftHeinz and Nestlé.
Crisp founder and CEO Are Traasdahl stated: "Acquiring Atheon and ClearBox advances Crisp's goal of providing CPG brands with all the data and actionable insights they need to grow sales and build relationships with their retail partners.
'These mission-driven companies both share our commitment to reducing food waste and optimising supply chains through better collaboration. When brands and retailers share the same clean, real-time data, it empowers them to identify out of stocks and overstocks and direct products to where they are needed to immediately reduce waste and create a positive double bottom line – good for the business and the environment.'
These acquisitions add more than 120 customers from the UK and other multinational regions to Crisp's user base. They follow previous acquisitions by Crisp including Shelf Engine and Atlas from Advantage Solutions.
"Crisp boosts retail supply chain insights with Atheon and ClearBox deals" was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.

Hundreds of London Small Businesses Launch Without a Plan

More than half (54%) of early-stage business owners in London are operating without a business plan, according to a new survey - and nearly one in two (46%) launched without any market research. The findings, which mirror trends across the UK, have prompted warnings from experts that poor planning could undermine long-term growth. However, they also stress that free support is available to help founders build stronger foundations. London has long been known for its entrepreneurial spirit, but new data from Grow London Local shows that many of the city's emerging small businesses are starting out without the basics in place. A survey of more than 800 entrepreneurs launching businesses across London* found that: - 54% don't have a business plan - 49% haven't reviewed their competition - 46% didn't conduct any market research before launching These trends reflect a broader UK pattern*: - 59% of small business employers nationwide lack a business plan. Among solo entrepreneurs, that figure rises to 77% Small businesses make up 99% of all companies in London and account for over half of the city's employment*. They are the backbone of London's economy and a driving force behind local communities. Business support organisations warn that these gaps are more than just missing paperwork, they can significantly impact-decision-making, operational efficiency, and the long-term success of a business. Commenting on the findings, Vanesa Perez Sanchez, Director of Small Business Service Delivery at London & Partners, said: "Starting a business requires huge amounts of passion and determination. Market research and business planning are essential to build solid foundations and growth. The good news is that there's support out there to help small businesses to start and thrive." Grow London Local, a service from London & Partners, offers free, tailored support to help founders succeed. Whether it's writing a business plan, finding funding, or getting expert advice, the support is local to each borough, so it's easier for entrepreneurs to access what they need. One organisation stepping in to help is Hatch Enterprise. It supports underrepresented founders and has seen a 92% rise in applications to its programmes over the last year, including a huge increase in people seeking early-stage support. Rebekah Sun, Managing Director at Hatch Enterprise, adds: "Even if you're short on time, investing in your business now will save you trouble later. It's vital we make planning tools and support easy to access, especially for new founders." Laurelle Kamara, a business owner supported by Hatch, says: "Prior to Hatch, I had never had any professional guidance, input or even courses to help me level up. It was very much me, myself, and I." After learning from experts, she now feels she can scale her business properly. As a result, she has reached more customers, increased her business's impact, and brought on additional paid freelancers. Uto Patrick, Business & IP Centre London Network Project Manager, explains: "Many new founders take the plunge before ensuring that they have the fundamental information, advice, and networks that they need - causing up to 50% to fail in the first 3 years of trading. Businesses who start with the support of the British Library's network of Business & IP Centres, based in libraries around the UK, are far more likely to succeed with over 90% of them still trading after the crucial third year." Marjorie Gutierrez, founder of Smart Business Designs, who got help from Grow London Local, shares: "I'd been running my business for years, but never made a proper business plan. After a Grow London Local event, I got connected to a business support manager who helped me bring my plan to life."

MobiKwik shares surge 8% off day's lows following heavy block deal; 8.98% equity changes hands

By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 26, 2025, 09:42 IST Shares of One MobiKwik Systems Ltd recovered sharply on Thursday, June 26, climbing nearly 8% from intraday lows after a large block deal triggered heavy selling pressure in the morning session. The stock was last seen trading at ₹247.95 on the NSE, up almost 1% from the previous close of ₹245.55. Earlier in the day, MobiKwik shares had slipped over 6% after nearly 8.98% equity, worth approximately ₹168 crore, changed hands in a block deal. This came a day after CNBC-TV18 reported that Net1 Applied Technologies Netherlands BV, a subsidiary of South Africa-based Net1 UEPS Technologies, was planning to offload its entire 8% stake in the company via block deals. Net1 had originally invested ₹268 crore in MobiKwik back in 2016 as part of a strategic partnership, integrating its virtual card technology into the Indian digital payments platform. Since its December 2024 stock market debut at a 58% premium to its IPO price of ₹279, MobiKwik shares had rallied to a high of ₹698 but have corrected more than 60% from those levels. The mandatory six-month lock-in period for pre-IPO shareholders ended on June 18, which further triggered selling pressure. The stock's year range now stands between ₹227.25 and ₹698.30, with the company's market capitalization at ₹19,330 crore.
