Gal Gadot and Matthias Schoenaerts to star in WW II thriller ‘Ruin' from Niki Caro
Gal Gadot and Matthias Schoenaerts will be seen in the upcoming World War II thriller Ruin, a highly anticipated project that has drawn attention since its script topped the Black List in 2017. Directed by Niki Caro (Mulan, The Zookeeper's Wife), production is scheduled to begin in early 2026.Set in post-war Germany, Ruin follows a former concentration camp prisoner (played by Gadot) who joins forces with a disillusioned German soldier (Schoenaerts). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two undertake a harrowing mission to hunt down remnants of a Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) unit. The film explores themes of justice, trauma, and redemption in a Europe struggling to rebuild.advertisementThe film is produced by Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures, alongside Gadot and Jason Varsano through their banner, Pilot Wave Motion Pictures. Evan Powell will oversee the project for MadRiver.
Gadot is currently working on The Runner for MGM Amazon Studios and recently completed Hand of Dante, directed by Julian Schnabel. Earlier this year, she starred in Disney's Snow White alongside Rachel Zegler. New Delhi: Aamir Khan is all set to embark on an exciting new journey. The actor has teamed up with Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for a big-scale superhero film. The highly anticipated project is slated to begin production in the latter half of 2026. Aamir confirmed the news during a media interaction on Thursday, as reported The Hollywood Reporter. What's Happening After Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan is all set to team up with Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, for a superhero movie. As per a report on The Hollywood Reporter, the actor confirmed the news on Thursday. The actor said, "Lokesh and I are doing a film together. It's a superhero film — a big-scale action outing. The film will begin in the second half of 2026. We have both signed it. I cannot reveal anything further." Denying rumours of PK 2, Aamir added, "That's a rumour. This is the first time I am hearing about it.' The actor also confirmed a biopic on the pioneering filmmaker and the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. "The Dadasaheb Phalke biopic is happening. Raju (director Rajkumar Hirani) and I are working on it," he confirmed. And so that's what I needed to do for me to process all of this." However, later, Goggins reportedly picked up his phone and re-followed Wood on Instagram. "It was just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for ever," he added, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
