Love Island viewers suspect 'staged' moment as stars suddenly ditch partners
Fans are shocked that Harry and Helena decided to leave their partners behind for a sneaky night in the Hideaway and suspect Love Island producers of playing a part
Love Island viewers suspect the show's producers of meddling after one of the most dramatic scenes of the reality show so far saw two people ditch their partners for each other. After a bit of flirting during last night's (June 11) game of dares around the fire pit, Harry and Helena decided to seal the deal by sneaking off to the Hideaway together, despite both being involved with other people.
The duo agreed that they would both leave the main room where all the couples sleep together at night five minutes after lights out. While they had hoped to escape unnoticed, everyone noticed them tiptoeing out and started gossiping about the incident just moments after Harry and Helena scampered out of the room.
The two lovebirds then proceeded to spend the night together, cuddling under the sheets in the Hideaway and sharing a passionate kiss.
In the morning Helena attempted to do some damage control, pulling Shakira aside and saying: "I wanted to speak to you 'cause I don't want you to think it was done in a malicious way."
She confirmed that she had kissed Harry during their stint in the Hideaway, but insisted nothing more had happened. While chatting to the other Islanders about his naughty night, Harry tried to downplay it, saying they only shared a "PG kiss and cuddle", and saying it was just "nice to share a bed".
However, viewers are shocked that Harry and Helena were bold enough to two-time Shakira as publicly as they did, and some have insisted producers must have encouraged them to act out.
One horrified fan wrote: "This has to be producers doing? Because no bloody way." Another speculated: "I'm gonna guess that producers have offered incentives to non-couples who use the Hideaway."
Someone else bluntly asked: "Which producer told Harry to go with Helena to the Hideaway?" The Hideaway is a private room typically reserved for steamy moments between solid couples.
However, this season it is being utilised for more illicit purposes as a few of the Islanders have started using it to get away from prying eyes and make physical contact with someone they are not coupled up with.
Earlier in the series, Blu pulled Shakira aside into the Hideaway for a private conversation, before locking lips with her twice. She immediately felt guilty and was quick to cut things off with him today, but it seems Harry saw this as the perfect opportunity for him to go ahead and pursue Helena on the side.
Although Harry stepped out on Shakira with Helena, he seemed determined to win her back today (June 12), repeatedly telling her that they are "drawn to each other" for a reason and joking that she should start preparing her speech for picking him at the recoupling ceremony.
Despite his best efforts, she called it quits as a result of his night in the Hideaway with Helena, and decided to crack on with Ben instead.

Love Island's Toni calls co-star over unexpected exit claim amid brutal dumping
Blu was left single and vulnerable to being dumped from Love Island after the latest recoupling ceremony, and in an attempt to defend his position in the villa he made a claim that shocked Toni Tensions have flared in the Love Island villa in a preview clip fans watched ahead of tonight's (June 13) episode of the reality show, where Toni can be seen clapping back at Blu for dragging her name into the high-stakes row between him and Shea. Following a brutal recoupling that left both Blu and Shea single, the boys were forced to go head-to-head and decide which one of them would leave the island immediately. Both Islanders scrambled to justify why they should be the one to stay, and Blu's attempt to name drop Toni as a potential romantic connection did not go down well. In an attempt to defend his place in the villa, Blu told Shea: "Obviously I've been here a bit longer and I feel more of a connection with the people in here." Shea wasn't impressed, firing back: "You've been here longer, and that means you've had more of a chance than me to get to know these people. That says a lot in itself." When Shea asked who Blu was supposedly still exploring connections with, Blu confidently replied: "Toni." This comment raised eyebrows, especially from Toni herself, who wasted no time in calling Blu out in front of the whole group. The unimpressed American bombshell shot back: "I think my name got pulled up out of someone's a**." Viewers were quick to weigh in on the drama on social media, with one joking: "Toni gagged Blu. I love that." Another chimed in: "The way Toni silenced Someone else exclaimed: "BLU GET OUT OF MY VILLA!!!!!!!!!" This confrontation comes after a turbulent week for Blu, who has been shooting his shot with Shakira and failing. Although he stepped forward for her at the firepit recently, she decided to couple up with Harry instead. Blu later snuck in a kiss with Shakira in the Hideaway, only for her to feel guilty and end things, leaving him back at square one. His former partner Alima also made it clear there was no romantic chemistry between them, and both agreed they were in more of a friendship couple. This left Blu scrambling for a connection when it came to the recoupling ceremony. Meanwhile Shea, who only arrived in the villa two days ago, has made it clear that he is looking for something real. The single dad told producers that he is ready to find a serious relationship with someone who understands the importance of family ahead of touching down in Mallorca. Despite being new to Love Island, Shea was not afraid to go toe-to-toe with Blu after the recoupling ceremony. In the promo clip he can even be seen taking a savage swipe at his co-star during their standoff, saying: "I think if a girl walked in, I could definitely take it somewhere." This dig seems aimed at Blu's string of failed connections.
