
Abducted child rescued within 24 hours in Navi Mumbai; woman held
Thane: Police have rescued a three-month-old girl within 24 hours of her abduction from outside the Panvel railway station in Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai township and arrested a woman in this connection, an official said on Sunday.
The child was with her mother when an unidentified person abducted her outside the railway station between 3pm and 3:30pm on Friday, Panvel City police station's senior inspector Nitin Thackeray said.
After getting information about the incident, five police teams were formed to trace the infant and apprehend the culprit.The police analysed CCTV footage of the area near Panvel station and got to know that a woman carrying the baby boarded a Pune-bound train, the official said.
Search teams were promptly sent to Karjat, Lonavla, Daund and other places in Pune.Later, the police found the woman returned to Panvel from Lonavla.The police spotted the woman near Kalamboli fire station and apprehended her on Saturday. The baby was rescued and reunited with her mother, the official said.
The accused woman, identified as Roshni Vinod Vageshree, 35, resident of a slum opposite the Panvel railway station, was arrested and booked under relevant legal provisions, the official added.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on June 5 conducted searches at 10 locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana in relation to an alleged ₹ 190 crore bank loan fraud, PTI reported citing official sources. Besides the national capital, the search locations in UP included Noida and Ghaziabad, and Panipat in Haryana, according to the report. The searches are part of a money laundering investigation linked to Shri Sidhdata Ispat Private Limited and others in which Bank of Baroda (former Dena Bank) is claimed to have been defrauded, the officials told PTI. The 10 locations 'are linked to the directors, promoters, partners, auditors, and other conspirators associated with the company which is being investigated in a ₹ 190 crore worth alleged bank loan fraud case', they added. The company under scrutiny, Shri Sidhdata Ispat manufacturers cold and hold rolled steel products. The report added that promoters could not be contacted immediately for a comment on the ED action against them. Earlier the ED on May 16 arrested former UCO Bank chairman Subodh Kumar Goel from his Delhi residence for alleged money laundering. This is in relation to an alleged bank loan fraud case of over ₹ 6,200 crore linked to a Kolkata-based company, according to another PTI report. Premises linked to Goel and some other were raided by the ED in April, as part of the investigation against Concast Steel & Power Ltd. (CSPL) and others in an alleged bank fraud case, the PTI report added.

Nicole Kidman to star in murder mystery series Girls and Their Horses
Los Angeles, Jun 5 (PTI) Hollywood star Nicole Kidman is set to headline "Girls and Their Horses", a new murder mystery series for streaming service Prime Video. The show, which will be co-produced by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios, is based on author Eliza Jane Brazier's 2023 novel of the same title. Brazier will write the pilot episode and executive produce alongside Jenna Lamia, who will also serve as the showrunner, according to entertainment news outlet Variety. 'Girls and Their Horses' reunites Kidman and Lamia after the popular miniseries "The Perfect Couple". Lamia had created the Netflix series, which Kidman starred and executive produced. 'A murder-mystery set in the beachside equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, 'Girls and Their Horses' follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they aim to position their teenage daughters in the rarified, sometimes-deadly world of competitive horse riding," read the official logline of the new show. In addition to starring in the series, Kidman will executive produce along with Per Saari under their Blossom Films banner. Kidman has established herself as one of the most prolific actors on television. Since 2017, she has headlined a string of acclaimed series, including "Big Little Lies", "Top of the Lake: China Girl", "The Undoing", "Nine Perfect Strangers", "Lioness", "Expats", and "The Perfect Couple".
