SteinCares, which is specialty healthcare company in Latin America, will handle all regulatory filings, registrations and commercialisation of Ranibizumab in LATAM, while Lupin will be responsible for manufacturing the same, under the agreement, it said on Monday.
Ranibizumab is a recombinant humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody fragment that binds to and inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A). It is used in treatment of Neovascular (Wet) Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Macular Edema following Retinal Vein Occlusion, Diabetic Macular Edema, Diabetic Retinopathy and Myopic Choroidal Neovascularization, Lupin said.
'Our intent is to transform the landscape of retinal care in Latin America, ensuring access to advanced therapies that improve the quality of life of patients,' Cyrus Karkaria, president – Biotechnology, Lupin, said in a release.

Grindr rolls out new in-app, live feed ‘Right Now' with disappearing posts
Gay dating app Grindr has introduced a new social media-like live feed feature called Right Now. The new feature is being rolled out to all users of the platform globally after conducting a pilot test in select markets. The Right Now feed is different from the traditional Grindr interface, which shows users a host of other users' profiles along with details such as how far away they are from the user's location. Instead, it resembles the feed on X (formerly Twitter) and shows users a stream of posts with text as well as photos, according to a report by The Verge. However, all user posts that appear in the Right Now feed disappear after an hour. The feed is currently accessible only in hour-long sessions that are free for users in certain locations, Grindr said, adding that users will soon be able to purchase more Right Not sessions as well. The Right Now feed has been designed to help people 'find exactly what they want, when they want it – without the guesswork,' according to AJ Balance, the chief product officer at Grindr. 'We built this intention-based feature based on feedback from our community so they can connect with like-minded people without wasting time on mismatched expectations,' Balance said. 'The response to our initial March launch was so strong we accelerated the global rollout ahead of schedule because it's clear people want this… well, right now,' Balance was quoted as saying. The expanded access to Right Now is part of Grindr's broader efforts to generate more revenue by rolling out new features and monetising them through in-app purchases. The company is facing financial woes with its stock price plummeting by 70 per cent since its initial public offering (IPO) in 2022. To turn things around, Grindr is betting big on AI. 'For all the new things that we build, I want them to be built as if we are an AI-native startup. If you're going to do marketing for this, great; start thinking with AI first and then go to people because that's how I think companies are going to be built moving forward and that's what we should be doing as a business as well,' Grindr's CEO George Arison was quoted as saying. He was speaking at the Wall Street Journal's Future of Everything conference last week Some of these AI features include A-List, which shows users summaries of chats in order to help them rekindle 'meaningful past connections' and pursue 'high-potential matches.' Grindr has also introduced an AI assistant named Wingman to help users draft chat responses as well as figure out dating spots and receive sex tips. The platform's AI features are reportedly powered by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.7 model and Amazon Web Services' Bedrock models. While some of the features have a free trial, continued access to them requires users to sign up to the platform's monthly subscription plans.

TN to launch ‘Social Labs', ‘Learn-a-Lot' to empower over 60,000 hostel students
Chennai: In a significant step to enhance educational and personal development among marginalised communities, the Tamil Nadu government's Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department is set to roll out two major initiatives -- Social Labs and Learn-a-Lot -- targeting more than 60,000 students staying in government-run hostels across the state. The initiatives are specially designed for first-generation learners from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, most of whose families earn less than Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. While basic academic needs are met in these hostels, officials say there remains a gap in providing structured support for skill development, career readiness, and life skills. 'According to the Heckman Curve, the highest rate of return on investment in human capital comes from early interventions. These two programmes aim to bridge critical gaps in students' academic and personal growth,' a senior department official said. The Social Labs programme will cater to students in 174 college hostels, covering around 12,910 students. Its primary objective is to build employability, boost self-confidence, and foster a mentorship ecosystem. Training modules will include spoken English, personality development, MS Office, Tally, arts, and sports. 'The goal is to ensure these students are not just college-ready but job-ready,' the official added. On the other hand, the Learn-a-Lot programme is designed for school students residing in 997 hostels, benefitting nearly 44,500 children. This initiative adopts a holistic approach, combining curriculum-based academic support with co-scholastic development and life skill education. Students will receive training in STEM subjects, digital literacy, fine arts, sports, value education, and career guidance. Recognising the differing needs of school and college students, the department has tailored each programme accordingly. 'The difference in both initiatives stems from the stage of life the students are in. Learn-a-Lot focuses on foundational skills, while Social Labs gears students toward professional and interpersonal growth,' the official explained. Both programmes will be implemented through a zone-wise strategy and delivered in flexible formats -- online, offline, or blended -- depending on the infrastructure available in each location. Officials believe these initiatives will empower students to unlock their full potential and break the cycle of poverty through education and skill development.

PM Modi inaugurates Satna & Datia Airports: All you need to know about two new airports in Madhya Pradesh
PM Modi inaugurates Satna & Datia Airports: To boost the regional connectivity in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually inaugurated two airports in Madhya Pradesh. By launching the newly developed Satna Airport and the upgraded Datia Airport, the government aims to extend the benefits of air travel to the Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand regions of the state under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme. The two airports will connect the historic towns Datia and Satna to the national aviation map. 'The operationalization of Satna and Datia Airports is expected to yield substantial economic and social benefits, providing improved connectivity, creating direct and indirect employment, and catalyzing the growth of related sectors such as hospitality, retail, education, and healthcare,' the government said in a statement. The Satna Airport has been developed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at a cost of ₹ 36.96 crore. It is set to serve as a major regional hub in northeastern Madhya Pradesh. The terminal building, spread over 768 square meters, is equipped to handle 50 peak-hour passengers and up to 2.5 lakh passengers annually. The Satna district is known for its cultural and industrial prominence. Its new airport will provide seamless connectivity to religious and industrial centers such as Chitrakoot and Maihar. The airport has modern passenger amenities, a recarpeted runway, apron facilities for Dornier-228 aircraft, and dedicated infrastructure including an ATC tower and fire station. It also has sustainable features such as 100% LED lighting, solar streetlights, and treated water reuse for horticulture. The upgraded Datia Airport has been constructed at a cost of ₹ 60.63 crore. Its terminal building is spread over 768 square meters with the capacity to handle 150 peak-hour passengers and an annual footfall of 2.5 lakh. With operational readiness for ATR-72 aircraft and future plans to accommodate A-320 aircraft, Datia Airport is a critical gateway for pilgrims and tourists visiting the renowned Peetambara Peeth and Datia Palace.
