I alone can convene general council meeting: Anbumani
Chennai: PMK president and Rajya Sabha member
Anbumani Ramadoss
declared that only he could convene the party general council.
Speaking at PMK's district secretaries' meeting held for the second consecutive day on Saturday, Anbumani said PMK is a party founded with ideology and purpose.
"The party has to function with unity, discipline, and structure.
We must avoid public conflict. The party's credibility depends on how we handle internal matters responsibly," he said.
He pointed out that everyone in the party had a responsibility. "I'm not here to rule. I'm here to work alongside you," he said. He said in politics, positions will come and go. "No one is forever. But our commitment to the people must be constant.
We are not here for personal gain. Our work should benefit the people and the party. This is not the time for ego or groupism. Those who love the party must stand together," he said.
Anbumani conveyed the next polls will be critical and PMK should present itself as a strong, independent alternative. He called upon the functionaries to reach every village and booth with a clear message. "We cannot afford to fall apart now.

If we truly believe in our ideology, let us show it in action," he said.
Meanwhile, Ramadoss removed a handful of district secretaries from their positions. This comes as two of the party's five MLAs, G K Mani and A Arul, were absent from Anbumani's consultative meeting with district functionaries.
The ongoing conflict between his father and PMK founder S Ramadoss and Anbumani intensified in recent days and is now pushing the party towards a full-blown war within.
According to internal sources, both of them have strong and irreconcilable differences. There are also disputes among district-level leaders and key office-bearers who are said to be taking sides.
Amid this, Mani denied charges that he was responsible for the rift between Ramadoss and Anbumani.
"I am not responsible for the rift within PMK. When I saw such claims circulating on social media, I broke down. Having been in the party for so many years, do you think I would ever wish for the party to fall apart? The accusations made against me are false," said Mani before meeting Ramadoss at his residence.

Ukraine and Russia meet in Turkey for peace talks with few hopes for a breakthrough (Image: AP) ISTANBUL - Delegations from Russia and Ukraine gathered in Turkey on Monday for their second round of direct peace talks in just over two weeks, although expectations were low for any significant progress on ending the three-year war. The Ukrainian delegation led Defense Minister Rustem Umerov was in Istanbul for the meeting, according to Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, said in a message posted on the Ukrainian Embassy Whatsapp group. The Russian delegation headed by Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, arrived Sunday evening, Russian state media reported. Turkish officials said the meeting would start at 1 p.m. local time, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan presiding over the talks and officials from the Turkish intelligence agency also present. However, Ukrainian spokesperson Tykhyi said the start would be at midday local time. It was not immediately possible to clarify the discrepancy. Recent comments by senior officials in both countries indicate they remain far apart on the key conditions for stopping the war. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Fierce fighting has in the meantime continued along the roughly 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) front line, and both sides have hit each other's territory with deep strikes. Punjab BJP deletes post paying tributes to those killed during Operation Bluestar
NEW DELHI: The Punjab BJP recently deleted social media posts that paid tributes to "martyrs" of Operation Blue Star , a 1984 military operation at the Golden Temple. The party had shared posts on X and Facebook condemning the then Congress government's actions, but removed them within hours without explanation. The deleted post on X read, "June 1, 1984 'Saka Neela Tara'. A humble tribute to all the martyrs of the day one of the attack on the Darbar Sahib by the Congress government." The BJP's social media posts included images showing damage to the Akal Takht, the highest temporal seat of Sikhs, and an armoured vehicle with deflated tires. Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, the officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht, has called upon the Sikh community to observe the first week of June as 'Shaheedi Hafta' (martyrdom week). "In June 1984, when Sikh devotees had gathered to observe the martyrdom day of the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, the then Congress-led government launched a military assault using tanks, artillery, and bullets on the central Sikh religious place, Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, and Sri Akal Takht Sahib," Gargaj stated. "The Sikh community can never forget the military attack of June 1984. The first week of June each year is a deeply emotional and solemn time for the 'Panth', when martyrs are remembered," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo The Jathedar has urged Sikhs worldwide to organize special 'Gurmat Samagams' (religious congregations), lectures, and seminars during June 1-6.
