Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office of the United Arab Emirates, recently visited the Pearling Path in Muharraq. He was accompanied by Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, and Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA).
During the visit, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the profound connection between the historical landmarks and Bahrain's rich cultural heritage. He praised Bahrain's ongoing efforts to preserve its cultural identity and historical legacy, acknowledging the importance of safeguarding these sites for future generations.
The delegation toured several historic houses along the Pearling Path, taking time to explore their history and significance. The landmarks, part of Bahrain's UNESCO World Heritage Site, serve as vital documentation of the country's pivotal role in the pearling industry, offering a glimpse into an important chapter of Bahrain's past.

Historic Firsts for the UAE Carrier The latest announcement is particularly notable as flydubai becomes the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights between Dubai and Iași International Airport (IAS) in Romania. flydubai has been operating in Romania since 2012 with flights to Bucharest and now extends its reach within the country. The airline is also entering new territory with its debut into the Baltic region. With the launch of direct services to Riga International Airport (RIX) in Latvia and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) in Lithuania, flydubai opens new gateways for both tourism and trade between the UAE and Northern Europe. Commitment to Underserved Markets Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, highlighted the strategic intent behind the new routes: 'The expansion of our network reflects our unwavering commitment to opening up underserved markets and stimulating free flows of trade and tourism. With our new services to Eastern Europe and the Baltic region, we look forward to strengthening the UAE's trade and cultural links and supporting Dubai's position as an international aviation hub.' Currently, 75% of flydubai's destinations are underserved routes, with the airline's network exceeding 135 global locations. Enhancing Connectivity Across Europe Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, emphasized Europe's growing importance in the airline's strategy: 'Europe remains an important market for flydubai, and we are excited to grow our network with the addition of Chișinău, Iași, Riga, and Vilnius. These new gateways will enable more passengers to enjoy a seamless travel experience to Dubai and further beyond through our network and Emirates codeshare partnership.' Destination Highlights Chișinău, Moldova: Nestled along the Bîc River, this charming capital is one of Europe's greenest cities, known for its limestone buildings and scenic parks. Diriyah Company signs strategic travel trade deal with GoZahid
Diriyah Company has signed a travel trade agreement with Saudi travel brand GoZahid to further enhance Diriyah as a global cultural and tourism destination. The announcement comes as Diriyah Company participates in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) trade show in Dubai until 1 May 2025, featuring GoZahid as a trade partner. GoZahid is joined alongside other major trade partners at Diriyah Company's booth including Athaar Arabia, Abercrombie & Kent, 88 Destinations, Tetrapylon, and Bonjour Saudi. The collaboration will build on its existing success as a destination that has already attracted over three million visits since opening its UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif and Bujairi Terrace dining precinct in December 2022 and opening its first hotel – the 134-room Bab Samhan, a Luxury Collection Hotel, in December last year. Under the agreement, Diriyah Company and GoZahid will collaborate to promote Diriyah, The City of Earth, to inbound cultural travelers. Their partnership will focus on enhancing destination marketing, training tour operators, hosting destination workshops, and developing training manuals for tour guides.
