Mercedes-Benz has once again partnered up with Ice Spice. She worked with the brand on a new custom molten chrome CLA.
As spotted on Newsweek, the automobile maker celebrated the re-grand opening of their Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan dealership in Manhattan. The evening's theme was 'Stars, Sounds & Slices,' a nod to the New York City experience. As part of their 'Class of Creators' initiative, Mercedes-Benz had Ice Spice in attendance to formally kick off the collaborative project by unveiling a tricked out version of the CLA four-door sedan. The art piece features molten like chrome detailing and paint drips throughout the entire body. Additionally, we get an interpretation of her signature diamond 'Princess' pendant on the side with the chain extending all around the car. The wheels also have Ice Spice's name to complement chrome fixtures on the runner panel. According to a press release, the theme of this car will also be represented in a capsule collection that will include T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, and more.
Bettina Fetzer, Vice President Mercedes-Benz Digital & Communications, expressed the brand's enthusiasm in a statement. 'The all-new CLA is the leading-edge trailblazer of our portfolio – the gateway into the world of Mercedes‑Benz. We are thrilled to collaborate with our 'Class of Creators,' represented by Ice Spice, Gustaf Westman, KidSuper, League of Legends and Hot Wheels,' she said. 'Together, we want to connect and engage with diverse communities by inviting them to be a part of this conversation.'
Gustaf Westman's event will be next on May 22, and Kid Super will follow with his art piece on June 28. You can see Ice Spice discuss the art piece below.

Mercedes F1 hoping to reset at the Canadian Grand Prix after ‘challenging' triple-header
Formula 1's triple-header, which brought the grid from Italy to Monaco and finally Barcelona, was not kind to Mercedes. They entered the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix sitting second in the F1 Constructors' Championship standings, behind only McLaren, thanks to a strong start to the season from George Russell and a promising beginning to Kimi Antonelli's F1 career. But the team banked only 18 points over the triple-header, as Antonelli was held without a point over the three races. Advertisement Now Mercedes is looking to reset after a 'challenging' trio of races at this week's Canadian Grand Prix. 'We're eager to get back on track in Montreal after a challenging triple header,' said Team Principal Toto Wolff in the team's media preview of the Canadian Grand Prix. 'We showed an improved performance in Barcelona and that is something for us to build on. However, we know we need to be more consistent, and continue to make progress with the W16, if we are to rediscover some of our form from earlier in the season.' Wolff also paid tribute to the host city, while noting the team's success in Montreal a season ago. Russell took pole position, posting the exact same time as Max Verstappen in Q3. With Russell posting the time first, he secured pole position for the Grand Prix. 'We enjoyed a strong race here in 2024, and I hope we can repeat that level of performance this time round. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a great track with its mix of low-speed corners and long straights often creating an exciting race. Montreal is a superb host city for F1 too and the fans always create a brilliant atmosphere,' added Wolff. Advertisement This week also sees the return of F1 Academy, with Mercedes driver Doriane Pin aiming to climb to the top of the F1 Academy Drivers' standings. Thanks in part to a win in the second race at the Chinese Grand Prix, Pin enters this race week second in the standings, just one point behind Maya Weug. 'We're looking forward to seeing Doriane racing once again as F1 Academy returns to action,' added Wolff. 'She has put in some strong performances so far this year and we will be supporting her as she looks to challenge for the lead of the championship in Canada.' The Canadian Grand Prix kicks off Friday with two hours of practice before Saturday's important qualifying session.

Max Verstappen 'Apology' Doesn't Squash Spanish GP 2025 Controversy
Max Verstappen has offered a veiled apology following his controversial clash with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, acknowledging his behavior 'was not right and shouldn't have happened.' Verstappen, the reigning world champion, found himself embroiled in late-race drama that saw him collide with Mercedes' George Russell, ultimately leading to a significant penalty and placing him on the brink of a race ban. Advertisement Read More: Spanish Grand Prix 25: Biggest Winners & Losers, including Oscar Piastri, Max Verstappen Max Verstappen and his penalty-causing action Max Verstappen Spanish Grand Prix apology The incident unfolded after a safety car restart, following a risky tire move to put Verstappen on the hard compound, which he felt fuelled his frustration. Despite believing he was in the right after an initial tangle with Russell at Turn 1, Verstappen became enraged after his team radioed him to yield fourth place to Russell. Verstappen initially resisted, arguing he was ahead. His race engineer reiterated the instruction, stating it was the rules. Verstappen then appeared to slow to let George Russell by, but accelerated again, making contact with the Mercedes. Stewards handed Verstappen a 10-second time penalty for causing the collision, which dropped him to 10th place in the final standings, costing Red Bull points. More critically, he received three penalty points on his FIA super license. This brings his total to 11 points accrued over the past 12 months. Accumulating 12 points within a year triggers a race suspension. The latest such race suspension occurred in 2024, when Haas driver Kevin Magnussen missed the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to reaching 12 points. Advertisement Related: Verstappen to Aston Martin? Saudi deal shakes F1 George Russell and F1 react to the incident and penalty George Russell himself felt the move was deliberate and that Verstappen had only hurt his team and himself. 'It's a bit of a shame because Max is clearly one of the best drivers in the world, but maneuvers like that are just totally unnecessary and sort of lets him down,' Russell said after the race. 'It's a shame for all the young kids looking up, aspiring to be Formula 1 drivers.' Former world champion Nico Rosberg went further, suggesting the maneuver warranted a disqualification, calling it an intentional act of retaliation. Advertisement 'It looked like a very intentional retaliation,' Rosberg told Sky Sports. 'Wait for the opponent, go ramming into him, just like you felt the other guy rammed into you at Turn 1. That's something which is extremely unacceptable and I think the rules would be a black flag, yes.' Verstappen's initial post-race reaction was flippant, questioning if his actions mattered when asked if they were intentional. However, his social media statement the following day indicated a shift in perspective. With 11 points, Verstappen must avoid any penalty points at the next event in Canada on June 15th to prevent a ban for the Austrian GP on June 29th. He will remain just one point away from a ban until some of his older penalty points expire later in the year. Read More: F1 Growth Surge: How women are driving the sport forward

Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari: Another Sunday, Another Struggle
F1 The Spanish Grand Prix was meant to be a chance for Ferrari to build on their promising performance in Monaco. But for Lewis Hamilton, it proved to be another difficult chapter in a challenging season, culminating in a deeply disappointing sixth-place finish at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Advertisement Starting fifth, Hamilton initially made progress, but it quickly became clear he didn't have the pace of his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Early on, Ferrari issued the team order for Hamilton to move aside, a familiar sight this year. As the race wore on, Hamilton continued to struggle, eventually dropping behind both Mercedes cars during the pitstop phase and losing another position to Nico Hulkenberg late before a penalty for Max Verstappen shuffled him back up to sixth. Read More: 'Ferrari is 2025's biggest disappointment,' former F1 driver says Lewis Hamilton puts all the blame on himself Lewis Hamilton Ferrari Formula 1 F1 Spanish GP Appearing during the post-race media availability, Lewis Hamilton looked dour and beaten. His struggles at Ferrari and so far during the 2025 F1 season have begun to take a toll on him. Advertisement 'It was a difficult day, there's nothing else to add to it, it was terrible,' Hamilton said. 'There's no point explaining it, it's not your fault, I just don't know what else to say.' Hamilton didn't throw his team under the bus nor claim anything could be done. He seemed resigned to the point that nothing could be done to improve his or Ferrari's performance. When asked what could be done by Ferrari to improve results in the future, or if they could, his answer was blunt. 'I'm sure they won't – it was probably just me,' Hamilton said. Lewis Hamilton's demeanor points to the level of frustration the seven-time world champion must be feeling. It's not new, but things certainly aren't getting better for him and the Scuderia. Ferrari SF-25 F1 Formula 1 While Team Principal Frederic Vasseur hinted there was 'an issue on the car the last stint, before the Safety Car,' honing in on what the overall issue is isn't as easy. While Hamilton was quick to blame himself as a driver, other observers point to continued trouble with the SF-25. This weekend's performance feels like a continuation of the struggles that have plagued Lewis Hamilton since joining Ferrari. While Leclerc managed to snatch a podium late in the race thanks to a Safety Car, even he admitted Ferrari needed to take another 'step' as a team. Advertisement The SF-25 car itself has faced criticism, including from former teammate and world champion Nico Rosberg. 'The worst car is the Ferrari,' Rosberg said Sunday. 'Poor Lewis Hamilton. That car is a handful.' Rosberg pointed out that the car exhibits the largest understeer and the most pronounced snap oversteer. He noted Lewis Hamilton had a lot of understeer during the Spanish GP and he could see the movement on the steering wheel. All point to set up issues. Ferrari continues to battle setup issues, a narrow operating window, and an unresponsive rear end, problems that a single upgrade package is unlikely to resolve. Advertisement For Hamilton, this race was a stark reminder that his hopes for a better season aren't materializing yet. The promise of a strong race in Spain faded quickly, leaving him searching for answers and expressing profound disappointment. It's a tough period for the British driver as he navigates these challenges with his new team.
