Reba McEntire says this heated vest keeps her nice and toasty — and it's on sale

Yahoo05-03-2025

Do you love to wrap yourself up in a heated blanket and wish you could actually walk out of the house that way? Well, you sort of can. There's a popular heated vest that provides such toasty warmth on a cold winter's outing that customers are swooning — and the most vocal fan of the Ororo Heated Vest is singing/acting legend Reba McEntire. And now is the time to scoop up this toasty layer while it's on sale for $20 off.
The Ororo Heated Vest, which McEntire told New York magazine is a "life-saving" winter essential and "the greatest invention known to man" — quite an endorsement! All the colors of this hot ticket are marked down by $20 making it a win for when the bitter cold temperatures in the forecast hit hard.
This vest warms your core when you need it most. It has battery-operated heating elements, so you must remember to charge it via its USB port. That said, it'll stay warm for up to 10 hours on a single charge! "The charge lasts a long time, but I always tell people to buy the extra battery pack as a backup," McEntire said. There's nothing worse than being somewhere cold and your battery dies."
Worried about overheating? Don't be. You can customize your warmth level by choosing between three heat settings. And don't sweat washing the Ororo vest, either: It's safe to throw it right in the machine, but you can also hand wash it if you choose. Either way, you can expect years of toasty-warm performance: Its battery can be charged up to 800 times before you'll need to replace it!
But don't just take McEntire's word for it. Take it from the 8,000-plus Amazon customers who swear by this piece.
"I love this vest," gushed one rave reviewer. "I'm always freezing at work and it's very frustrating because I need to be able to move around, so a big jacket is out of the equation. This vest keeps me warm and gives me the necessary mobility to do my work. The heat on the neck section is amazing. I feel like I'm having a heating pad working on me while I'm working."
"I bought this as a birthday present for my oldest daughter who is a school crossing guard," said this mom. "She says it's really warm and loves it. We're in Michigan and it's great during the winter months to help keep warm."
Even medical professionals love it. "Best decision I've ever made," shared one healthcare worker. "I work in interventional radiology and can't wear a jacket or long sleeves in the cold rooms because I have to gown up and stay sterile. It's been a game-changer in cases. I got the navy blue and it looks great with the hospital scrubs."
Some shoppers say it could use some slight adjustments.
One shopper wrote: "The only thing I'd change about the vest is how the power button/heat setting button lights up. I wish there was an option to turn it off, but I can live with it, not a deal-breaker."
"I bought this one for my mom and she loves it!" exclaimed a fan. "Most of our family has these and we love them. My only complaint is that the battery takes forever to charge."
And to prevent frigid fingers, these highly rated hand warmers are also on sale for nearly 40% off!
If you have Amazon Prime, you'll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.

Henry Cavill Says His WARHAMMER Series Is a 'Dream Come True' and a Challenge He's "Enjoying Enormously' — GeekTyrant

It's been three years since Amazon first announced that it had teamed up with Henry Cavill to bring Warhammer 40,000 to life in live action. Since then, the updates have been slow, but Cavill hasn't let go of his dream. In fact, he's doubling down. In a recent interview with Esquire, the actor-turned-executive-producer opened up about what it's like to be steering the ship for one of the most expansive and intimidating sci-fi IPs out there, saying: 'It's different from what I've done before, in the sense I haven't had my hand on the tiller of things before. It's wonderful doing that. It is a tricky IP, and a very complex IP, and that's what I love about it. 'The challenges that come with putting this on the page in a way that is doing justice to that complexity, that trickiness, and that nuance, is a challenge I'm enjoying enormously.' For longtime fans of the Warhammer universe, and of Cavill, this is exactly the kind of commitment you want to hear. Cavill previously said: 'For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action. Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.' But beyond that initial burst of excitement, details have been kept under wraps. At the tail end of 2024, Cavill offered a brief update, hinting that he and the creative team had zeroed in on their launch point for the franchise: 'Together, we've been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe.' What that starting point is remains a mystery, but if Cavill's obsessive enthusiasm and long-running love for the source material are any indication, fans are in good hands. This isn't someone casually stepping into a producer role. This is someone who paints miniatures, builds custom gaming PCs, and actually knows what the Adeptus Mechanicus is. In a world where big franchises often fall into the hands of people who barely understand what makes them special, Warhammer 40K might have found its champion. Cavill wants to do it right.

Even Kate Middleton Can't Resist a Chunky Chain Necklace

Everyone loves a chain necklace. From all the guys still trying to emulate Paul Mescal in Normal People to celebs like Dua Lipa and Gigi Hadid regularly stacking silver around the collarbone, the classic chain is truly eternal (I'm actually wearing one right now). Next up on the chain train? Kate Middleton, of course, who was pictured at the V&A East Storehouse wearing a chunky gold chain, a royal blue suit with power shoulders and classic stiletto pumps. I'm also very here for the mid-rise trousers and belt combo. The Princess Of Wales was in Hackney Wick—yes, Hackney Wick, the area of London where all the zine start-ups and club nights are—to take a look around the recently opened public space, in which thousands of cultural artefacts are currently being stored. By the looks of things, she enjoyed herself, as she spent quite a lot of the time smiling, laughing and shaking hands with the various officials of the Storehouse. As for the chain itself, it's a 'Portrait' necklace with a T-bar clasp from New York-based jewelry brand Laura Lombardi, which she's worn a few times since 2022. It's actually relatively affordable—it's currently available on Ssense for $105. And it's also eco-friendly, made from recycled brass and vintage dead stock materials. Quite a modern look from the princess, who has in past favored classic heirlooms over contemporary designs. With that chain, though? She looks right at home in East London.

Sly Stone's Fabulous Style

In 1974, decades before Ye, then known as Kanye West, packed Madison Square Garden for a twin album-fashion spectacular, Sly Stone, the cosmically groovy singer-songwriter who died on June 9, offered his own extravaganza of dance, funk and flash on New York's biggest stage. The occasion was a sold-out Sly & the Family Stone concert in front of more than 20,000 fans, and the centerpiece was Mr. Stone's wedding to Kathy Silva — a gold and black display of fabulosity. The bride and groom (and the whole wedding party, band included) wore coordinated Halston looks. Mr. Stone wore a gleaming cape and jumpsuit, the waist cinched with a big gold belt buckle, so he looked like a cross between a disco superhero and a sci-fi lord come lightly down to earth. Behind them, a dozen models in black dresses carried gold palm fronds. It was, The New Yorker declared, 'the biggest event this year.' It was also seven years after Mr. Stone arrived on the music scene promising 'A Whole New Thing,' and boy, had he delivered. He introduced not just a whole new sound but a whole new kind of style to the stage. Like his music, it crossed genre, race, gender and audience, offering unity in a psychedelic stew of fringe, rhinestones and lamé that was sometimes celebratory and sometimes chaotic, often outrageous, but almost always impossible to forget — whether it was on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' or the Woodstock stage.
