More than 30 Palestinians were killed and nearly 170 injured on Sunday in south Gaza near a food distribution site, the health ministry said, as witnesses reported Israeli soldiers fired on people trying to collect aid and Israel denied it.
The U.S.-based Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said food was handed out without incident on Sunday at the distribution point in Rafah and there were no deaths or injuries.

ISRAELI FORCES HAVE recovered the bodies of two people who were captured during the Hamas-led attack of October 2023. According to the kibbutz, 117 residents were killed and more than 60 percent of its houses were destroyed during the attack. The kibbutz said Gad Haggai was 72 at the time of the October 2023 attack and Judy Weinstein Haggai was 70. Gad, a music lover and talented cook, and Judy, a former English teacher, have four children and seven grandchildren, according to the kibbutz. The Hamas-led attack resulted in the deaths of 1,218 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. Israeli military recovers bodies of two hostages held by Hamas
Israel's military has recovered the bodies of two hostages, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said. Judy Weinstein-Hagi, 70, and 72-year-old Gadi Hagi were taken from kibbutz Nir Oz during the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. The Israeli army said in a statement that the bodies of the husband and wife were recovered in a special operation from the Khan Younis area in Gaza. Following the recovery of their bodies, 56 hostages are still held by Hamas, with fewer than half believed to be alive, according to Israeli estimates.
