Housing Savannah and Front Porch Improv present: 'Laugh Your Heart Out'
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Enjoy an exciting evening of laughter, community and support for affordable housing initiatives at the 'Laugh Your Heart Out' comedy night fundraiser. Brought to you by Housing Savannah, in collaboration with Front Porch Improv, the event will bring people together to raise awareness and funds to continue Housing Savannah's mission to foster safe, affordable, and thriving living spaces throughout the community.
'We believe that laughter brings people together, and this event is the perfect opportunity to engage our community while shining a spotlight on the important work being done to address housing needs in the greater-Savannah area,' said Laura Lane McKinnon, Executive Director of Housing Savannah. 'Every ticket purchased supports our ongoing efforts to create equitable housing opportunities and build stronger, more vibrant neighborhoods.'
The evening will include:
Live Comedy Performances: Enjoy top-notch comedians from Savannah's own Front Porch Improv, like Comedian's Eric Bailey and Jon Antoine.
Community Networking: Connect with passionate housing advocates and community leaders.
Fundraising for Impact: 100% of proceeds from the event will go directly to support the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund to provide affordable housing and educational programming.
'Laugh Your Heart Out' is Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Front Porch Improv on Victory Drive in Savannah. Tickets are available here. Seating is limited. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

Historic Mitchelville celebrates Juneteenth
MITCHELVILLE, S.C. (WSAV) — Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park has many events planned for Juneteenth week. Beginning Thursday, June 12, learn about the many kinds of birds you can see in Freedom Park. The event is called Naycha and B'uhds. The Hilton Head Audubon will conduct this interactive demonstration highlighting the deep connection between nature and the Gullah Geechee culture's celebration of wildlife and wisdom. The event is free and starts at 11 a.m. That same night, you can experience Freedom Park under the stars. Sleepover at the Park starts at 6 p.m. and the cost is $20 per person. The Annual Juneteenth Celebration is Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 per person. R&B artist Leela James will perform. On Thursday, June 14, get your running shoes ready. Dancer who grew up in Savannah on America's Got Talent tonight
SAVANNAH, GA. (WSAV) — The first base dance coach for the Savannah Bananas will appear on America's Got Talent Tuesday. According to Maceo 'Mace' Harrison's website, he travels the country with the Bananas as they play Banana Ball in some of the biggest stadiums. Harrison moved to Maryland when he was nine. Since then, he said dance changed his life. After his high school graduation, he reached the third round of auditions for 'So You Think You Can Dance.' In 2016, Harrison acquired a full scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City for their hip-hop program. Brightside Advocacy & Front Porch Improv Present fundraising talent show after devastating CASA budget cuts
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Front Porch Improv is holding a showcase to raise money as federal funding cuts have put advocacy for children in foster care at risk. Brightside Child and Family Advocacy is facing a $110,000 loss and they need your help. Grab a ticket and witness the most 'delightfully unpolished talent show Savannah has ever seen'. There are also three sponsorship levels ranging from $125 to $500. The Morons are a crew of wild improvisers who will showcase their talents and questionable skills in a one-hour variety show that's guaranteed to make you laugh while also helping a great cause while you're at it. The event is on Tuesday, June 10. Tickets are $40 and include a Sunboy (or nonalcoholic beverage) and a snack.
