It's not over – Frank Lampard ready for challenge of turning around deficit

The Black Cats flipped the form book on its head in the first leg of the Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final, ending a five-match losing run with a 2-1 victory at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Second-half goals from Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayenda – two minutes from time – capped a counter-attacking masterclass from Sunderland, who are seeking to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2007.
Former England and Chelsea midfielder Lampard, who led Derby to a famous play-off win over Leeds after losing the first leg five years ago, insisted everything is still to play for in Tuesday's return game.

Lampard, though, will not be drawing on previous experiences, as he said: 'I manage a different team, they're a different team, that was a past thing.
'I've played many two-legged games – Champions League football – so I understand that this was never going to be over (after the first leg) and it's not over, that's for sure.
'Sunderland will know it's not over. It's half-time – we go again. Football's not easy, it's not meant to be easy. We're one behind and they're favourites, which is fine. It will be a good challenge.'
A compact Sunderland defended resolutely behind two banks of four before Isidor put them ahead after a quick break in the 68th minute but Jack Rudoni headed home 110 seconds later to draw Coventry level.
The home crowd were silenced two minutes from time when Milan van Ewijk's wayward back pass allowed Mayenda, who turned 20 on Thursday, to break free, round goalkeeper Ben Wilson and score.

Van Ewijk was distraught at full-time, leaving the ground in tears, but Lampard said: 'I'll speak to him. It's football. He's been brilliant for us this season. Mistakes happen in football.
'Sunderland defended the box brilliantly and made it hard for us to find space and get clear opportunities. Look, it's a play-off game, I wasn't expecting them to open the door for us.
'We'll have to be adaptable on (Tuesday) to try and find a way to win whatever they do. There's pressure on us both in different ways.'
Sunderland had scored just once in a winless streak of six games as their form flat-lined towards the end of the regular campaign.
But Regis Le Bris said: 'I never had doubt about the level of our team; we showed so many times that we were ready to play good games in big games so why not now? For me it was obvious.'
The key, according to the Frenchman, was to have a fully fit and refreshed squad at his disposal.
He added: 'That was really important because the energy we showed, the connection, the commitment was what you need in the play-offs.
'If you don't trust your players and don't support them when it's tough, you will lose them. For me it wasn't the case.'

Rangers are considering a transfer move for highly-rated Croatian forward Matija Frigan this summer, according to reports in his homeland. After confirming the appointment of Russell Martin as their new head coach last week, the Ibrox hierarchy will now turn their attention to the transfer market as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new Scottish Premiership season, which is scheduled to start in just 53 days. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Linked to Leicester City's Conor Coady, Southampton's Flynn Downes and Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman over the weekend, the name of Frigan has now reportedly been added to their transfer wish list, as sporting director Kevin Thelwell and new club chairman Andrew Cavenagh look to make their first moves in the transfer market. The 22-year-old is said to have caught interest from the likes of Hamburg and clubs in La Liga after he bagged 14 goals in all competitions for Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerlo last season. Strongly linked with a potential loan-to-buy move to Sunderland during the January transfer window, Frigan admitted the Black Cats held a 'serious' interest in him, with the Stadium of Light side believed to have eyed up a potential €15million deal. Addressing links to Sunderland, who won promotion back to the English Premier League last month via the EFL Championship playoffs, Frigan told Croatian outlet Germanijak: "Yes, it is true that Sunderland is interested, and they are quite serious. I don't want to go into details, but it's nice to know that such a club is following me. The most important thing is that I play as well as possible at Westerlo, and then we'll see what happens next." Moving to Het Kuipje in the summer of 2023 following a prolific stint for HNK Rijeka in the top tier of Croatian football, he signed a five-year deal upon his arrival at the club. However, his form in front of goal has resulted in rising interest in his services, with a departure away from Belgium mooted this summer. Elsewhere, former Rangers loan hero Abdallah Sima has agreed a surprise new deal with English Premier League side Brighton, despite having yet to play for the Seagulls since his arrival at the club four years ago. The 23-year-old forward moved to the south coast from Slavia Prague for an undisclosed fee back in the summer of 2021, but has spent each of the last seasons on loan to various clubs, including a impressive spell at Ibrox in the 2023/24 season where he scored 16 goals in 39 appearances. Man Utd discover price tag for Ruben Amorim target ahead of looming deadline

Manchester United's busy summer transfer window is continuing, with boss Ruben Amorim now turning his attention to adding more defenders to his Red Devils squad Italian club Udinese want £30m-plus for in-demand defender Oumar Solet. Manchester United have been tracking the 25-year-old who has made a huge impression since making his Serie A debut in January. Juventus have joined the likes of West Ham, Inter Milan and Napoli who are also watching developments on the French defender who graduated from Lyon's academy. Solet signed a pre-contract with Udinese last year. ‌ But the 25-year-old could only play for the Italian side from January 1 after leaving RB Salzburg. Napoli and Lens both tried to sign him but Udinese beat them to it. ‌ They made a solid start to the campaign with Solet getting good reviews. Udinese could cash in this summer but it will take a big price - although it could end up being good value if he carries on his trajectory. The 6ft 4in centre half has represented France from under-17s to under-20 level but is also eligible for the Ivory Coast through his family heritage. Solet's contract lasts until the summer of 2027. But he is rapidly emerging as a big prospect attracting major interest from Premier League clubs. But if they want to complete a deal in the first phase of the window, suitors will have to be quick with the window temporarily closing on Tuesday (June 10) at 7pm. The window will then reopen next Monday (June 16), where it will remain so until September. Solet describes himself as being a versatile defender, able to play in several roles across the backline. Interestingly, he also speaks three languages, which can be useful given the international look of many modern dressing rooms. ‌ 'I can play in any role in the centre of defence, including in a three-man rearguard. I've been able to watch many Udinese matches since being here. Coming to Italy and joining a club like Udinese is a big step forward for me," he said at his Udinese unveiling. "I want to accomplish great things with the team. I aim to be leader on the pitch that I know I can be and to help the club to the best of my ability. I'll give my all to achieve that. 'There's a big difference between the Austrian Bundesliga and Serie A, but I want to adapt quickly. 'Having team-mates who speak your language is always a good thing. I also speak English, some Spanish and I'm learning Italian, so I can communicate with everyone. However, having someone who speaks French is helpful."
