Green Monke Becomes Exclusive Hemp-Infused Beverage of Pabst Theater Group, a Milwaukee Entertainment Institution
Green Monke Set to Revolutionize the Guest Experience at Five Milwaukee Theatres as It Builds on Its Relationship With Oak View Group
MILWAUKEE, WI - February 13, 2025 ( NEWMEDIAWIRE) - Green Monke USA (Green Monke), an award-winning hemp-D9 beverage brand, has entered into an agreement with the esteemed Pabst Theater Group, an OVG Theater Alliance member based in Milwaukee, to enhance the guest experience at the venues. The partnership was secured by OVG Global Partnerships, the sponsorship and naming rights division of Oak View Group that connects leading consumer brands with world-class live entertainment properties.
This collaboration will allow Green Monke to reach a diverse audience across five iconic venues within the group:
Miller High Life Theatre (4,000 capacity)
Riverside Theater (2,500 capacity)
Pabst Theater (1,350 capacity)
Turner Hall Ballroom (1,000 capacity)
Vivarium (400 capacity)
'The essence of a community is reflected in its theaters and music venues. That is why having Green Monke Happy Sodas in Pabst Theater Group venues shows our commitment to bring our award-winning hemp-derived THC beverages to passionate audiences,' commented Pat Gleeson, CEO of Green Monke. 'Our goal is not only to enhance the overall guest experience - imagine watching your favorite artists and comedians perform after enjoying a Happy Soda or two - but also to creatively elevate the arts and attract a new generation of theatergoers in Milwaukee.'
Partnership Details & First Sampling
Green Monke kicked off the partnership with Pabst Theater Group with a highly successful launch weekend. The launch centered around a performance by the band Goose at Miller High Life Theatre, where guests had the opportunity to enjoy samples of Green Monke's Orange Passionfruit and Mango Guava flavors.
Going forward, Green Monke will be prominently featured across all Pabst Theater Group venues and participate in activation opportunities and event marketing efforts throughout the year.
'This partnership with Green Monke will help us to take the Pabst Theater Group live event experience to the next level, making this the perfect collaboration and kicking off the new year with a real high,' said Gary Witt, President & CEO of the Pabst Theater Group.
Wisconsin Market Opportunity
Green Monke is working with the leading liquor distributor in Wisconsin, Johnson Brothers Limited, to sell Green Monke Happy Sodas through traditional liquor distributors and retail outlets. This means that theatre-goers who first enjoy a Green Monke Happy Soda at a Pabst Theatre Group show can purchase them locally for at-home consumption at retailers throughout the State.
In Wisconsin, where recreational cannabis has not been legalized, consumers are increasingly turning to hemp-derived beverages both as an alcohol alternative and as a legal, socially-accepted mode of THC consumption. This presents a significant opportunity to reach a largely untapped market of approximately 6 million people statewide, including a focus on the Milwaukee metro area, with a population of approximately 1.5 million.

Additionally, the group hosts shows at Fiserv Forum and UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The Pabst Theater Group has a financial impact on the city of Milwaukee exceeding $2,509 million and spends $1.3 million in marketing annually, helping to build community, loyalty and reinforce identity and heritage for Milwaukee while employing a total of 350 full and part-time staff. With the venues hosting artists like Neil Young, Widespread Panic, Kevin Hart, Mitski and Glass Animals, Green Monke Happy Sodas have the potential to be enjoyed at world-class events, by an ever-changing audience.
In collaboration with OVG, Green Monke is exploring opportunities to introduce its Happy Sodas to larger stadiums and more intimate venues within OVG's Theater Alliance. The Theater Alliance, a national collective of marquee theaters and performing arts venues in top-tier markets across North America, was founded by global sports and entertainment company Oak View Group. The BRITs has been held at various venues in the capital including Earl's Court (1996-2011), Alexandra Palace (1993-1995) and The Grosvenor Hotel (1982-1987). The first event in 1977 was held at the Wembley Conference Centre, and the BRITs became a yearly occurrence from 1982 onwards; the 2021 event was the first major event to take place in the U.K. following the outbreak of the COVID pandemic a year prior. 2026 marks the first event of the three-year stewardship under Sony Music U.K.; stewardship rotates between the three major labels, with the BRIT Committee overseeing the show's creative direction. Damian Christian, the managing director and president of promotions at Atlantic Records, a Warner Music subsidiary, served as the chair of the BRIT Committee from 2022-2025. 'Moving to Manchester, the home of some of the most iconic and defining artists of our lifetime, will invigorate the show and build on the BRITs legacy of celebrating and reinvesting in world-class music,' says Jason Isley MBE, chairman and CEO, Sony Music U.K. & Ireland. 'Hosting the show in Manchester, with its vibrant cultural history, perfectly captures the spirit and energy of the BRIT Awards. I can't wait to see the show at the amazing state-of-the art Co-op Live venue.' Despite a beleaguered opening which saw delays and cancellation of shows in April 2024, the Co-op Live has since established itself as a key player in the U.K. live music scene. In 2024, the venue hosted the MTV EMAs, and 2025's live slate includes Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler, The Creator and more. The venue's 23,500 capacity makes it the largest indoor arena in Europe. Tim Leiweke, co-founder and CEO of Oak View Group said: 'The BRITs are the most important music event in the UK and were always the highlight of the year, not only because of its immense cultural contribution, but because of their commitment to improving the lives of youth through music. It is our honour to partner with our friends at BPI and Sony Music, alongside the great city of Manchester, to host the BRITs at Co-op Live and join in their mission to create opportunities for youth through music.' The BRIT Awards regularly pulls big name performers, with 2025's ceremony boasting live performances by Sabrina Carpenter, Lola Young, Teddy Swims and Sam Fender. Charli XCX, meanwhile, collected five awards on the night, including album of the year. The move follows the relocation of the MOBO Awards in recent years to Coventry (2021) and Sheffield (2024), and the Mercury Prize which is set to be hosted in Newcastle's Utilita Arena in September 2025.
