Yeida to develop ‘flatted factory' in Noida's Sector 28
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) on Monday issued a tender to appoint a contractor for developing a ₹125-crore flatted factory complex in Sector 28 near the upcoming Noida International Airport. The project is part of a state-driven initiative to promote the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in the region, officials said.
The complex will be built over 38,665sqm and will consist of a basement, ground floor, and three additional stories housing 252 industrial units. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months, followed by a three-year defect liability period.
'The flatted factory will offer fully equipped units with essential facilities, enabling seamless production and operations. It is expected to attract new investments, spur local economic development, and create employment, particularly for youth,' said Arun Vir Singh, Yeida chief executive officer.
According to officials, the ground floor will house a multi-purpose room, an exhibition centre, retail space, offices, and a meeting room. The upper floors will have units of three sizes: Unit A (120 square metres), Unit B (90 sqm) and Unit C (60 sqm). The basement will feature car and bike parking and an underground water tank.
'A flatted factory is like a residential complex for businesses, where small manufacturing units operate across multiple storeys, sharing resources such as goods lifts, water supply, and loading bays,' Singh added.
The building will feature elevators, HVAC systems, fire safety infrastructure, CCTV, and electronic access controls. It will adhere to green building standards and connect to 24- and 30-metre-wide roads leading to the Yamuna Expressway, officials said, adding that construction will comply with IS codes and engineering best practices.

Yeida fixes rates to buy agricultural land near Noida airport
Greater Noida The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) on Tuesday said it has finalised rates to purchase agricultural land from farmers of 55 villages in Bulandshahr for developing new urban areas, as it intends to ready the land for the industrial use around Noida airport. To be sure, five months ago, Yeida had set up a committee headed by Shailendra Bhatia which submitted its report to the authority's chief executive officer (CEO) Arun Vir Singh on Tuesday, finalising the land rates to commence land purchase as they need it without delay, officials said. 'We will put the committee's recommendations on the board so that we can offer better rates to them and buy the land required for the infrastructure and industrial development in this region. The committee has fixed the rates in view of the rates offered by neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar district. And since we've notified these 55 villages of the Bulandshahr for the planned district, we decided to offer a better rate. Once the board gives its official nod, the authority will start buying the land from farmers,' the CEO said. Yeida officer on special duty Bhatia-headed committee, including additional chief executive officer Kapil Singh and other officials, said if a farmer intends to take residential plot (7% of total land acquired), he will get ₹3,800 per square metre (sqm), and if he doesn't wish to, the rate will be ₹4,300 per sqm. The authority decided to offer this rate after farmers sought the same saying that farmers in adjoining Gautam Budh Nagar district get ₹4,300 per sqm, as they are giving the land for the airport and other infrastructure projects. To be sure, these rates ( ₹3,800 and ₹4,300 per sqm) will be given to people in the 55 villages falling in Bulandshahr district. On June 23, 2023, Yeida had notified these villages for the planned development. Yeida earmarked land of these villages for development since discovering that people are developing illegal projects on some patches, and it wants to stop development of these unauthorised projects by buying land from farmers, said officials. In June 2023, Yeida had announced that it wanted to build two new expressways and a rail link to connect Chola Railway Station in Bulandshahr to Jewar, where the Noida International Greenfield Airport is being built, prompting officials to decide the rates paving way for the land buying, said officials. 'There will be a 2.5km gap between the two expressways, and this area will be developed into a warehousing and logistics hub, creating enormous business opportunities and helping in job creation. A rail link will also run parallel to one of the expressways connecting the airport and this area with the Delhi-Howrah rail link on which the Chola railway station is located in Bulandshahr,' the CEO said.

PCMC's 200 crore green municipal bonds listed on BSE; CM and deputies attend ceremony in Mumbai
Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Tuesday listed its Rs200 crore green municipal bonds on the Bombay Stock Exchange ( ) in Mumbai. The listing ceremony was attended by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, deputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and state chief secretary Sujata Saunik. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now PCMC has become the first civic body in Maharashtra to raise funds through green municipal bonds, and it is also the first municipal corporation in the country to issue green bonds exclusively for a sustainable mobility project. The funds raised through these bonds will be utilised for the 'Harit Setu' project in Nigdi Pradhikaran and for the sustainable mobility development project from Gawlimatha to Indrayani Nagar Chowk on Telco Road. Both promote non-motorised transport and sustainable development. Speaking at the event, Fadnavis stated that there was a very good response to the green bonds, and they were subscribed within a few minutes. "The strong investor response is a testament to the trust placed in Maharashtra govt and PCMC's governance," he said. He added that the infrastructure built using funds raised through these bonds will help boost sustainability in Pimpri Chinchwad. Last week, the bonds were floated via private placement on the BSE's Electronic Bidding Platform and attracted bids worth Rs513 Crore, oversubscribing the offer by 5.13 times. The bonds were issued at a coupon rate of 7.85% for a period of five years. PCMC commissioner Shekhar Singh said the decision to raise funds through green bonds was taken after past experience when the civic body raised Rs100 Crore through municipal bonds. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "For some projects, the funding available from budgeting stretches up to five to six years due to limited resources with the civic body. We were thinking of ways to expedite our projects, and one such option was to have funds available for a two or three-year timeframe. That is where the idea of green bonds came up," he said. He said there has been increasing stress on financial resources that municipal corporations can allocate for different projects, and municipal bonds provide one such option where the civic bodies can leverage their financial strength. Singh said the Harit Setu project is a master plan for the city for the next 10-12 years, and it is a recognition of the fact that traffic congestion is not just about widening roads. "If we do not think of non-motorised or public transport options, I do not think we will be solving the traffic congestion," he said. The project has already won the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycle Infrastructure in 2023, and the civic body has also received a grant of USD 400 from the FICCI challenge for it. Pimpri Chinchwad was the only city from India and was among the nine global cities that won the FICCI award. Singh said that the corporation has also applied for a 25% grant for the Harit Setu project under the Urban Challenge Fund, a Central govt initiative introduced in this year's Union Budget. PCMC is set to become the first municipal body in the country to avail this assistance, having fulfilled the eligibility condition of raising over 50% of the total project cost through instruments like green bonds, he said. New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said during the 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "bold and visionary" leadership, India's defence sector has transformed remarkably from a largely import-driven model to becoming a "trusted global exporter". In a post on X, he also underlined that the celebration of these years honours India's stride towards "strength, self-reliance and strategic global leadership". Sharing some data on defence exports, Mr Singh underlined the government's thrust on 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India' initiatives. India's defence exports have risen to Rs 23,622 crore in 2024-25 from Rs 1,940 crore in 2014-15, the Union minister said. He also highlighted India's first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, first indigenous multi-role combat helicopter LCH Prachand and the country's missile capabilities. "In the last 11 years, under the bold and visionary leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi, India's defence sector has transformed remarkably from a largely import-driven model to becoming a trusted global exporter," Mr Singh said. "Powered by Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make In India, this journey has led to record-high defence exports to 100+ countries, indigenous milestones like LCH Prachand, Tejas fighter jets, BrahMos missile production and the rise of defence corridors attracting massive investments," he said. As "we celebrate #11YearsOfRakshaShakti, we honour India's stride towards strength, self-reliance and strategic global leadership", he said. In another post, Mr Singh shared a video titled 'Self-reliant defence: Strengthening Tomorrow's Bharat' depicting India's counter-terrorism stance, including Operation Sindoor, various military exercises, patrolling by troops, drop in insurgency cases in the northeast, and 'Nari Shakti' in the armed forces. "In the #11YearsOfRakshaShakti, India's defence sector has undergone a historic transformation under PM Modi's inspiring leadership which has resulted into stronger borders, modern armed forces, indigenous weapons, record defence exports and global trust. A proud stride towards self-reliance," Mr Singh said. This is the third term of the Modi government after the BJP-led NDA won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi and the Union council of ministers was held on June 9, 2024. Later, the PIB shared a fact sheet on major milestones for the sector on the past 11 years. "India's defence sector has witnessed an extraordinary transformation over the last eleven years. What was once limited in scale and ambition has grown into a confident, self-reliant ecosystem," it said. This shift has been shaped by "firm political resolve and strategic thinking". Strategic policies have sparked new energy across the board, from production and procurement to exports and innovation, the PIB said in the fact sheet. India's defence journey over the past eleven years has been defined by "bold decisions, strategic foresight, and unwavering resolve," it said. "The Ministry of Defence signed 193 contracts worth Rs 2,09,050 crore in 2024-25 -- the highest ever in a single year. Of these, 177 contracts were awarded to the domestic industry, amounting to Rs 1,68,922 crore," reads the fact sheet. The Ministry of Defence signed a "wet lease agreement with Metrea Management for one KC-135 Flight Refuelling Aircraft" during this period. "This is the first time the Indian Air Force has opted for a wet-leased FRA, which will be used for air-to-air refuelling training of pilots from both the Air Force and Navy. Delivery is expected within six months," it added. The fact sheet also talked about growing 'Nari Shakti' too in the armed forces Women have "taken centre stage" in India's defence forces over the last eleven years. The number of women officers across the services today, has "grown to over 11,000, reflecting a clear shift in policy and mindset", according to the fact sheet. The current government has opened new doors for women in uniform. Permanent Commission has been granted to 507 women officers, allowing them to pursue long-term careers and take on leadership roles. This move has reshaped opportunities for women across ranks and branches, it said. The National Defence Academy (NDA) has undergone a historic transformation by inducting female cadets, starting with the first batch of 17 in August 2022 as part of the 148th NDA course. Since then, 126 female cadets have joined across four batches, up to the 153rd course, reads the fact sheet. "On May 30, a landmark moment was marked when these 17 female cadets were among the 336 cadets who graduated from the 148th Course '" Spring Term 2025. This shift reflects the broader integration of women across defence domains, from combat support to piloting fighter jets, underscoring the belief that strength and service transcend gender," it added. The fact sheet also underlined India's current stand on counter-terrorism and emphasises on the recent Operation Sindoor to buttress the point. On counter-terrorism measures in Jammu and Kashmir, the PIB said terrorist-initiated incidents have dropped from 228 in 2018 to just 28 in 2024, demonstrating a strong correlation between integration and peace. "Additionally, stone-pelting incidents have recorded a 100 per cent drop, marking a new era of peace," it said. On countering Naxalism, the PIB shared some facts related to it, and said, "With continued support through special central assistance and targeted development, the government is on track to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026."
