Speaking to ANI, Pathak said, 'Over the past decade, India has witnessed a transformative shift across various sectors -- from infrastructure development to advancements in space and medical sciences. Nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. Under the PM's leadership, the country is steadily progressing toward unprecedented growth and development.' Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that India is the only economy in the world that has doubled in one decade. 'Before 2014, we were a fragile and unstable economy--India ranked 11th in the World. In the last 11 years, it has climbed and is now the fourth-largest economy in the world. When India was celebrating its 75th Independence Day, under the leadership of PM Modi, we surpassed Britain, the country which had ruled over India for almost 200 years... India is the only economy that has doubled in one decade,' said UP CM Yogi Adityanath as PM Modi completed 11 years in office. CM Yogi further said that governance is now based on everyone's satisfaction and appeasing no one; the country has witnessed this in 11 years. PM Modi first took oath as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014, and is currently serving his third consecutive term. Marking the occasion, the Union government also released a comprehensive e-book detailing achievements across various sectors over the past 11 years. The year 2025 marks 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. The book said that these 11 years have been dedicated to bringing about development that is inclusive, progressive, and sustainable. The book said that since assuming office in 2014, PM Modi has remained firm in his resolve to keep 'India First' in every policy formulation and action. It added that the resolve is evident in the government's handling of both external and internal security, economic management, empowerment schemes for marginalised groups, efforts at cultural conservation and so on. Highlighting the government's steps in handling COVID-19, the book said, 'Prime Minister Modi's government has always believed in setting challenging targets and achieving them before the set deadline. This can be seen across sectors, whether it is in vaccinating the entire eligible population in record time against Covid-19, recording the nation's highest ever exports in history, in the digital revolution which is taking place across India, in achieving monumental targets for rural electrification, in building world-class infrastructure or in providing drinking water facilities across households. Katrina Kaif named Global Brand Ambassador of Maldives
Male [Maldives], June 10 (ANI): Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has been appointed the Global Brand Ambassador for the Maldives. The official handle of the Maldives National Tourist Board shared the update on Tuesday. In a post on X, Visit Maldives stated, 'Visit Maldives Unveils Katrina Kaif as Global Brand Ambassador for the Sunny Side of Life.' This marks an important step by the Maldives National Tourist Board to promote tourism. Last year, the row between New Delhi and Male erupted after three Maldivian deputy ministers made derogatory comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over his pictures from the visit to Lakshadweep. PM Modi had called for the Indian island cluster to be developed as a destination for beach tourism and the promotion of domestic tourism. The matter snowballed into a major diplomatic row, with New Delhi summoning the Maldivian envoy and registering a strong protest against the viral posts. The three deputy ministers were suspended, and they remain under suspension with pay. Later, Maldives Tourism Ministry data showed that the number of Indian tourists visiting the Maldives has dropped by 33 per cent compared to last year. However, toeing a reconciliatory tone after a diplomatic row with India, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu stated that India will continue to remain the country's 'closest ally.'
