Midlothian police hunting van driver who 'ran from crash' as two women hospitalised

Police are hunting a Midlothian van driver who they say made off from the scene of a crash which saw two pensioners hospitalised.
A white Ford Transit flat bed van and a red Renault Captur were involved in the smash on the A6094 near Rosewell shortly after 11am on Thursday, May 29.
The male driver of the van is claimed to have fled the scene on foot before the arrival of emergency services. He headed north along the busy road.
Two women, aged 68 and 69, were rushed to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Police are now hunting the driver of the van and have asked anyone who stopped at the scene to get in touch.
Constable Stewart Logan said: "We are keen to speak with the man who was driving the van or anyone who stopped at the crash and spoke with him before he left.
"We are also looking to speak with any further witnesses or anyone with information or dashcam who has yet to contact police. If you believe you can assist, please call 101, quoting incident 1162 of 29 May."
