Wisconsin great Braelon Allen reacts to Jets' second and third-round NFL draft picks
Wisconsin great and current New York Jets running back Braelon Allen was again active on social media on Friday, reacting to his team's selections in the second and third rounds of the 2025 NFL draft.
Allen first shared a positive one-word reaction after the Jets' first-round selection of Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou. The top-10 pick projects to immediately start at right tackle, helping to protect quarterback Justin Fields, plus open running lanes for Allen and starter Breece Hall.
After Membou's selection, the Jets were not done bolstering their offensive unit. The team returned to the clock with the 10th pick in the second round, No. 42 overall, where it selected LSU tight end Mason Taylor. As Allen did during the first round on Thursday, he took to X to share his support for the pick.
Taylor was a multi-year standout at LSU. He appeared in 38 games over the last three seasons, catching 129 total passes for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns. He projects to slot in as the Jets' starting tight end, providing further help for the team's passing game and backfield duo.
Allen's one-word posts weren't exclusive to offensive picks. He shared a similar note when the Jets selected Florida State cornerback Azareye'h Thomas with the ninth pick in the third round, No. 73 overall.
The Jets now have five picks remaining in rounds 4-7 on Saturday -- one in the fourth round, two in the fifth and two in the sixth. First-year head coach Aaron Glenn is looking for a productive class as he attempts to lead the team to its first playoff berth in 15 years.
Allen is set to play an integral role in that playoff pursuit, especially if a Breece Hall trade comes to fruition.

First look at QB Aaron Rodgers at a Steeler

First look at QB Aaron Rodgers at a Steeler Tuesday marked a day that was a long time coming. The Pittsburgh Steelers kicked off their mandatory minicamp and everyone got their first look at quarterback Aaron Rodgers since signing with the Steelers a week ago. Rodgers didn't do any team drills on Tuesday as directed by head coach Mike Tomlin. This is because Rodgers chose to hold out on signing with the Steelers until just a few days ago, so he missed the bulk of the offseason work and doesn't know the offense yet. Tomlin and the Steelers are hopeful that the fourth time is the charm. 2025 will mark the fourth-straight season where the Steelers will have a different starter. Pittsburgh has been trying to tread water at quarterback since Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season. MSU target, 3-star RB Nelsyn Wheeler commits to Illinois following official visit

MSU target, 3-star RB Nelsyn Wheeler commits to Illinois following official visit For a second straight day, a Michigan State running back target has announced he's heading elsewhere. Nelsyn Wheeler of Omaha, Neb. announced his commitment to Illinois on Tuesday. The commitment comes after Wheeler took an official visit to Illinois this past weekend, and one day after he announced he would be cancelling his upcoming official visit Michigan State. Wheeler is a three-star prospect in the 2026 class, and holds a recruiting rating of 85 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 75 running back in 247Sports' composite rankings. Michigan State was one of a few schools in pursuit for Wheeler. Kansas, Wisconsin, Cincinnati and Northwestern were a few of the other big-time programs after Wheeler before he committed to Illinois. Wheeler is the latest Michigan State running back target to commit elsewhere -- four-star running back Damon Ferguson of Baltimore committed to Pitt on Monday, three-star running back Michael Dukes of Detroit committed to Rutgers last week, and Kory Amachree of Haslett, Mich. committed to Kansas last month. So Michigan State is back to the drawing board when it comes to a running back in the 2026 class.
