After an extended three-day break from training, Hansi Flick's squad reconvened at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Thursday, for their first session of the week.
And, as alluded to above, playing their respective parts in as much were Noah Darvich, and Guille Fernández.
Both have prior experience training at senior level this season, with 16-year-old Guille, in particular, considered a star in the making by those behind the scenes in Catalunya's capital.

As per a report from MD: 'Youssouf Sabaly is currently in Doha to undergo medical examinations and finalise the details of his signing for the Qatari club Al Duhail.' Florentino Perez did not want Xabi Alonso as Real Madrid manager for Club World Cup

This summer's Club World Cup will be the start of Xabi Alonso's reign as head coach of Real Madrid, following his move from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the domestic season. The former Galactico replaced Carlo Ancelotti, although this was not the plan that the club had in mind. In the final few weeks of the season, it became apparent that Ancelotti would not be continuing at Real Madrid for the remainder of his contract, which was due to expire in 2026. His replacement was always going to be Alonso, but according to El Confidencial (via Sport), the plan had been for the Spaniard to take charge after the Club World Cup. Advertisement Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was the driving force behind this, as he believed a poor Club World Cup would add early and unnecessary pressure on to Alonso for the start of the 2025-26. And that is why Los Blancos wanted Santiago Solari in charge for this summer's tournament in the United States. VIGO, SPAIN – NOVEMBER 11: Head coach Santiago Solari of Real Madrid during the La Liga match between RC Celta de Vigo and Real Madrid CF at Abanca-Balaidos on November 11, 2018 in Vigo, Spain. (Photo by) But as revealed by the report, Solari turned down the offer, which greatly infuriated Perez. And it was not the only proposal that the Argentine, who has been Real Madrid interim manager on multiple occasions, opted to turn down, as he rejected the chance to take charge of the woman's team. As a result, it was quickly decided that Alonso should be in charge of Real Madrid for the Club World Cup. And while it does bring a risk of him being on the back foot early on with a poor campaign, there is a chance that early momentum is built with a successful tournament in the United States.

Barcelona to renew youngster's contract, before allowing him to depart

Barcelona to renew youngster's contract, before allowing him to depart The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have made a call on the future of young midfielder Pablo Torre. That's according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya's capital. Advertisement Torre, for his part, is fresh off a largely frustrating campaign with Barcelona in 2024/25. Despite impressing when afforded the opportunity, the major competition for places in the attacking midfield role in Hansi Flick's XI saw the 22-year-old restricted to just five starts across all competitions. A summer exit for Torre, in turn, has long been rumoured in the media. And if the latest word stemming from the Camp Nou on Wednesday is anything to go by, then as much appears to be on the cards, with a twist… As per a report from MD: 'The idea is to negotiate with his representatives for a contract extension starting in June 2026. Once secured and under control, the club would either loan Torre out with a purchase option or sell him with a buyout clause as affordable as possible.' In this way, Barcelona would keep control over the long-term future of a player considered 'excellent' from both a technical and tactical standpoint by manager Hansi Flick. Conor Laird – GSFN
