Love Island fans demand change as they fume brutal twist was 'for nothing'
Love Island 2025 viewers were not impressed by the shenanigans during Wednesday's episode as they said it meant one brutal twist 'was for nothing' and didn't need to happen It's safe to say many Love Island fans wanted a change to the show, after a brutal dumping the day before. But it was the actions of some Islanders in particular that left viewers fuming, suggesting a twist "had been for nothing". On Tuesday night we saw fan favourite Sophie Lee axed from the show. Her partner Harry had been stolen by Shakira, leaving her single and dropped from the villa. But in the latest episode on Wednesday we saw hints that both Harry and Shakira were interested in others. Not only did Shakira hear out Ben, but a teaser revealed scenes with Blu. Then there was Harry who was keen to get to know Helena, leaving fans convinced both Harry and Shakira would not stay together. This would mean, according to viewers, poor Sophie went home for nothing. She only left because Shakira chosen Harry, and now it seems she might not even want to stay with him. Viewers raced to X over the scenes calling out the dumping twist, saying the wrong person left. They also claimed the twist was "for nothing" and Sophie didn't even need to leave. One fan said: "Shakira is not feeling Harry, Sophie went home for nothing." Another fan said: "Producers were wrong for dumping Sophie idc," as a third posted: "So what was the point of sending Sophie home if you will end up kissing Blu?" Another post said: "So Shakira chose Harry who actually likes Helena, but Shakira then kisses Blu anyway, so Sophie left for nothing?" A further fan wrote: "So basically Sophie went for no reason at all...." It comes as viewers confessed they think they already know which former Love Island star is set to enter the famous second villa, Casa Amor. Some viewers are now convinced Sophie's time on the show isn't over. With a recent series seeing a dumped girl return to the villa for Casa Amor, viewers are now speculating Sophie will be back on the show in a matter of weeks, as a bombshell in the second villa. Taking to X, fans guessed the twist would happen with one fan writing: "I reckon Sophie will re-enter the villa as a bombshell by the end of next week at the latest or she will re-enter in Casa Amor." Another said: "Dw Sophie you'll be back in 4 weeks for Casa Amor." A third viewer begged: "Nah bring Sophie back for Casa Amor she deserves a chance."
