Incredible concept photos showed what the state-of-the-art station would look like once the face-lift is complete.
They included cutting-edge architectural feats such as new pedestrian routes, bold station interiors, a picturesque balcony and a stylish entrance.
The groundbreaking plans for the new upgrade will make the station future-proofed and ready to accommodate over 200 million people for the decades ahead, according to Network Rail.
Their application to give the iconic station a colossal transformation has recently been approved by City of London.
The new vision will see the station become more spacious, better connected between its different lines, and much more accessible.
Chief Executive of Network Rail, Sir Andrew Haines, said: 'The station proposed in this application is absolutely what London needs.
"An accessible, inclusive, world-class multi-modal transport gateway to the heart of London - designed to serve the City, all Londoners, and everyone who travels through it."
The historic station is in much need of an upgrade, as since the last major renovation, its passenger numbers have tripled.
There is a lack of step-free access and the basic facilities can make transport difficult.
It is also plagued by heavy congestion at peak times.

Long and windy passages can also confuse travellers trying to get from one line to another within the huge station.
The much-needed revamp is set to alleviate these issues while giving Liverpool Street a stylish and modern aesthetic.
London's Transport Commissioner Andy Lord said: 'Network Rail's vision for the station gives us an opportunity to work together to provide the excellent levels of customer satisfaction we want everyone to experience as they travel across our networks.
"We welcome that these plans include a comprehensive step-free solution for those using the Underground.
He added: "At the heart of these plans is an unshakeable commitment to safety, top-tier performance, and delivering a transport system for London that is not only efficient, but environmentally sustainable."
The revolutionary scheme will also help boost long-term economic growth across the City of London.
According to Network Rail, the station's transformation could increase the City of London economy by up to £4.6billion per year.
This would come thanks to increased visitor numbers and a small tax change which would draw in more cash.
Liverpool Street station opened i n 1875 and ever since it has grown in parallel with London's iconic Square mile.
Network Rail said: "It is essential that the station is modernised to meet the demands of a 21st-century transport network and continue supporting the economic vitality of both London and the wider UK."

UK beach that's ‘falling into the sea' reveals drastic new plans to stop it disappearing forever

A UK beach that is at risk of disappearing has revealed new protection plans. Montrose Beach in Scotland has struggled with erosion for years and consequently, lost centuries-old golf links into the sea. 5 5 However, experts hope that new plans for two rock armour groynes will slow the loss of the dunes. Montrose Beach currently stretches three miles to the North Esk River, with views south to Scurdieness Lighthouse. However, parts of the beach have been impacted worse than others including the sand dunes, which have been eroded as much as 12 metres. According to a planning submission, the beach has lost three metres a year since 2016. And since 1995, the sea has reclaimed over 70 metres in total. Now with recent acceleration the beach is disappearing even faster. The Courier has reported that as a result, experts at infrastructure firm AECOM are developing the coastal erosion battle plan for Angus Council. The two long structures - which are typically made of wood, concrete, or rubble and usually extend from the shoreline into the sea - will be designed to limit the movement of sand on the beach. Each structure will be 100 metres long and 10 metres wide and they will be about 200 metres apart. AECOM said: "This spacing has been assessed as optimal to provide the best amount of sediment capture. Howell Davies on New Smyrna Beach Florida travel 5 "The groynes initially tie into the existing beach levels at the shore end, increasing to one metre above beach levels at their outer extent." AECOM expects the build of the structures to take three months. Proposals for the popular tourist destination are part of a wider, long-term approach to tackle the threat of flood corridors and the North Sea's impact on the beach's dunes. The application now needs to be accessed by the local council. Until then, you can visit the family-friendly beach which also has a promenade, as well as car parking. For other things to explore, there is also a shop and an amusement centre. For little ones, there is a Seafront Splash play area for children featuring pools, a pitch and putt and an ice cream parlour. One of the nice walks to do is head along the length of the beach before returning via an inland route and visiting the North Water viaduct - which is now part of a cycle path. Another English beach is at risk of disappearing forever with the 'fastest erosion in Europe'. Plus, the English seaside town at risk of losing its beach that has revealed £11million restoration plans.

China strikes cautious tone after Trump claims trade deal is 'done'

China will "always honour its commitments" when it comes to negotiating trade disagreements with the US, according to a spokesperson for the Chinese government. But when pushed by Sky News, he refrained from confirming what those commitments are. The reluctance is at odds with President Trump, who declared on his Truth Social account that "our deal with China is done", while also claiming that China has agreed to supply rare earth metals to the US"upfront", and to a 55% tariff rate on its goods. The comments follow high-stakes talks between delegations from the two countries in London aimed at stabilising the relationship amid an escalating trade and supply chain war. China's refusal to confirm these details has raised speculation that, contrary to what the US side is claiming, there may still be significant disagreements and some details yet to be worked out. The continued silence comes after two days of negotiations between delegations from the US and China in the UK. While both sides confirmed that they had agreed a "framework" to implement the "consensus" reached at previous talks in Geneva last month, as well as during a phone call between President Xi and President Trump on 5 June, the delegations were supposed to be taking the agreement to their respective leaders for sign-off. When asked by Sky News if any of the details in Trump's Truth Social post reflected what China understood to be in the deal, Lin Jian, China's foreign ministry spokesperson said "the two sides achieved new progress in addressing the concerns on economic and trade issues". "We always honour our commitments. Since we've reached common understandings, the two sides need to follow them." 👉 Follow Trump100 on your podcast app 👈 When pushed by Sky News on whether China agrees with Trump's Truth Social assessment that the US-China relationship is "excellent", Lin declined to agree, saying simply: "Our position on relations with the United States has been consistent and clear". Such lukewarm language is not uncommon in China but there will likely be significant displeasure at the way Trump is unilaterally publishing details that may not yet have been officially signed off. It is in stark contrast to China's communication landscape which is highly scripted and controlled, and if it was designed to force China into an agreement it could well backfire. Indeed, if everything in Trump's Truth Social post is true it would represent quite a coup for the US, and that feels a little unlikely given the valuable bargaining chips China has, particularly over rare earth metals. 0:54 This will likely have been a crunch point in negotiations. China has the vast majority of the world's rare earth metals which are vital in the production of everything from cars to weaponry, and recent export controls imposed in response to Trump's tariffs have brought some production lines to the brink of standstill. In response, the Trump administration imposed extra export controls on high-tech chips, chip development technology and parts needed to make jet engines, as well as moving to revoke student visas for Chinese nationals. President Trump indicated in his Truth Social post that the measures to revoke visas will be rowed back. When pushed by Sky News, Lin refrained from commenting on whether Trump's communications on this matter have undermined the relationship more broadly, but the stakes remain enormously high, with the unfolding supply chain war set to do significant damage to the economies of both nations.
