Five eye-catching Royal Ascot jockey bookings including 17-year-old with ‘glowing reputation' and ‘greatest of all time'
IN the absolute punting minefield that is Royal Ascot, sometimes the best way to go is picking a jockey and sticking with them.
Recent history shows following that principle with Ryan Moore won't serve you too badly.

But with runners from Japan, America and almost every corner of the globe, there will be some new names - and old - to get your head around at the Berkshire track.
A load of jockey bookings are being added to the racecards now, so it looks like the perfect time to strike.
Here, I take a look at five of the most eye-catching rides ahead of the five-day festival.
1 James McDonald
Look, we all know that in this hemisphere, at least, Ryan Moore is the best jockey.

But Down Under they are of the firm opinion that McDonald, with 119 Group 1s to his name, is the king.
Trainer Chris Waller even said Macca will be remembered as 'the greatest of all time'.
Well, to do that he is going to need some Royal Ascot winners!

And he just might after the big-spending Wathnan Racing operation snapped him up for some rides.
James Doyle is Wathnan's No1 but McDonald, along with Will Buick, will deputise.
And McDonald looks like he will ride the likes of Underwriter in the Coventry and Aesterius in the King Charles III.
Away from that squad, McDonald will ride Carl Spackler, who is a 20-1 chance in the blockbuster Queen Anne, the first race on day one.
2 Warren Fentiman
This 5lb claimer - son of journeyman jockey Duran - is riding out of his skin and worth following wherever he goes.
Still only 17 and with a 'glowing reputation', Fentiman is an interesting booking on Richard Fahey's Ramazan in the Buckingham Palace Stakes.

If all goes well and he gets in the field, Fentiman's allowance will come in handy for this intriguing handicap-dropper.
Fentiman beat his old man in a race during the Chester May Festival and won the three-year-old Dash at Epsom on Derby weekend.
His red-hot form could land him an Ascot winner too after he was booked for Gavin Cromwell's brilliant My Mate Mozzie in the Copper Horse Handicap on Tuesday.
3 Colin Keane
Juddmonte's new No1 has one of the best jobs in racing.
Keane is a six-time champion in Ireland but may not be massively familiar to British punters.
This week could change all that.
Among his big book of rides if St James's Palace good thing Field Of Gold, Lockinge winner Lead Artist in the Queen Anne and Babouche in the Commonwealth Cup.
4 Faleh Bughenaim
Hailed as 'the best jockey in Qatar', Faleh will have a big ride for Wathnan in the Royal Hunt Cup aboard Jeff Koons.
Faleh has just one win from 16 rides in Britain in his career but you can be sure the Emir of Qatar, who owns Wathnan, will have lined up a good one for his country's top star.
5 Christophe Soumillon
'Super Sou' has ridden winners all over the world - but it could be the Royal Hunt Cup where he gets his Ascot one this year.
The legendary rider has been jocked up on Greek Order, a fascinating and lightly-raced five-year-old contender trained by Michael Bell.
Greek Order was owned by Juddmonte until last month when he changed hands for around £80,000.
He's currently 25-1 for the 30-runner cavalry charge but could go off much shorter on the day.

Colin Keane braced for whirlwind week as Juddmonte's top jock
Keane, who has just started his new job as retained rider for Juddmonte, bagged a double in Limerick on Wednesday before immediately getting off the mark in those famous silks at Newbury on Thursday. The Meath jockey had seven mounts in Cork last night before heading to Sandown for a quartet of rides today and that's not even the half of it with a trip to France on the horizon tomorrow. It is at Chantilly where Keane will hope to immediately get off the mark for Juddmonte at Group One level when partnering Better Together for legendary French trainer Andre Fabre in the Prix de Diane (3.05). There will be plenty of familiar faces in that Group One with Aidan O'Brien double-handed in the shape of Bedtime Story (partnered by Ryan Moore) and Merrily (in the hands of recent Epsom Derby-winning rider Wayne Lordan). Just in case that wasn't enough for the Trim native, the five-day Royal Ascot meeting kicks off on Tuesday where Field Of Gold and White Birch are among a stellar book of rides as Keane bids to cement his world-class status on a huge racing stage.

TEMPLEGATE takes on Saturday's racing confident of slamming in some winners and building the bank for Royal Ascot. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. ALSAKIB (3.00 York, nap) He rose through the staying ranks last season and put in his best effort at this track. He ran well on his comeback in the Yorkshire Cup last month and can improve from there. HOLD A DREAM (2.40 Sandown, nb) He'll enjoy dropping to five furlongs after showing lots of pace at Newbury last time but just failing to get home. That was his turf comeback and there's more to come. HEATHEN (2.25 York, treble) He runs off a much lower mark on turf compared to the all-weather and can make the most of it under experienced pilot Serena Brotherton. Former Wimbledon champion reveals she's been cycling to Queen's on LIME BIKE after her car was stolen
HEATHER WATSON has been using an electric Lime bike to travel to a new tennis event in south-west London – after being driven mad by a stolen car saga. A first WTA tournament at Queen's Club in Baron's Court since 1973 works well for Watson because it is only a 10-minute cycle ride from her flat. The Guernsey-born ace's Range Rover was nicked from an underground car park at her West London home on the night she belatedly celebrated her 31st birthday with friends. Advertisement READ MORE ON TENNIS It happened in the week before the grass-court season started and at the time, she said she was pulling her hair out dealing with a time-consuming insurance company. A tracking company told her the vehicle was gone and though it was eventually found by police – and taken to a Charlton car pound – her problems only started when it came to the 'ball-ache' of dealing with the insurance detail. On Thursday afternoon, qualifier Watson was on her bike out of the premises as she lost 6-4 6-2 to former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina. After that defeat, she revealed to the media why she was shunning cars, saying: '(Bikes) are my means of transport.
