PSL finally confirm CORRECT Betway Premiership log

As the 2024/2025 Betway Premiership fast approaches its climax, the PSL has finally confirmed the updated standings after Royal AM were booted out.
This comes after the Premier Soccer League's Board of Governors (BoG) decided to back the recommendation by the league's executive committee to cancel Royal AM's membership with immediate effect.
With the KwaZulu-Natal outfit having only played 11 matches in the Betway Premiership this season, it now means all points gained by those 11 teams (if any) against Royal AM have been rendered null and void .
Furthermore, there will be no automatic relegation this season.
As is always the case, the team that finishes 15th – and now effectively last – will still go to the playoffs to determine their survival – or relegation.
All teams will thus play 28 matches this season.
Naturally, the ruling comes as a blow to those teams which did play Royal AM this season and picked up points – especially those who pick up wins against Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize's side.
A look at the results from the season shows that Royal AM won one, drew five and lost five of their 11 matches.
Let's start with the one team they did manage to beat, Sekhukhune United. They won't be affected by the ruling.
The five teams that drew against Royal AM will all lose one point.
They are: Cape Town City FC, SuperSport United, Richards Bay, Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs.
The five teams who beat Royal AM will be hardest hit by a reduction of three points from their current points total.
Those sides are: Mamelodi Sundowns, Polokwane City, Golden Arrows, AmaZulu and TS Galaxy.
The four teams that didn't play Royal AM this season and are thus also unaffected by the ruling in terms of a log points deduction are Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC, Chippa United and Marumo Gallants.
The big news, of course, is that Mamelodi Sundowns' lead atop the standings has now been cut to nine points from Orlando Pirates – who have played two fewer matches.
Royal AM 1-1 Cape Town City FC
SuperSport United 0-0 Royal AM
Royal AM 0-0 Richards Bay
Magesi FC 0-0 Royal AM
Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 Royal AM
Royal AM 2-0 Sekhukhune United
Royal AM 0-1 Polokwane City
Royal AM 2-3 Golden Arrows
Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Royal AM
AmaZulu 2-1 Royal AM
Royal AM 1-3 TS Galaxy

Kaizer Chiefs to sign ex-Orlando Pirates duo?

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing two former Orlando Pirates defenders in the next transfer period. The Buccaneers released several players this month, including Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako. According to SABC Sport, Amakhosi are close to finalising a deal with Monyane. The 25-year-old right-back spent 13 years with the Buccaneers, where he went on to make 95 appearances. With the signing of Deano van Rooyen, Monyane's gametime at Orlando Pirates was very limited. This week, he bid farewell to the club in an emotional message. 'Joining the institution at 12 to 25, this club has been my everything. I've grown as a player, but more importantly, as a person. I'm grateful for the trophies we've won, the memories we've created, and the friendships that will last a lifetime,' read part of the statement. 'To the fans, thank you for your unwavering support. Your cheers, chants, constructive criticism and passion fuelled me every step of the way. I'll never forget the electric atmosphere you created on match days. 'To the chairman, staff, technical team, and players, past and present, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and camaraderie. You've all played a role in shaping me into the player I am today. 'As I embark on my new journey, I'll carry the lessons, values, and memories from this club with me always. I'll be forever grateful for the opportunity to represent this amazing club and be part of its history.' Another former Orlando Pirates player rumoured to be moving to Chiefs is Paseko Mako. The utility player was released by the club after seven years with the Buccaneers. Orlando Pirates eye AFCON U20 star Neo Rapoo

Orlando Pirates have officially approached SuperSport United to enquire about the availability of South Africa's latest teenage football sensation, Neo Rapoo. According to prominent football broadcaster and radio personality Karabo Phasha, the Soweto giants have already made contact with Rapoo's agent to explore a potential transfer. The Bucs' interest in the 19-year-old left-back comes hot on the heels of his standout performances at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. Rapoo played a crucial role in helping the South African U20 squad secure the title and qualify for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile. Weeks before, Pirates reached out to his camp, setting the stage for what could be one of the most exciting transfers in the domestic market. Neo Rapoo isn't just hype, he's the real deal. Promoted to SuperSport United's senior team last season, he has made 15 appearances in all competitions in the 2024/2025 campaign. Showcasing both composure and flair on the left flank. Former SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt had already spotted his potential early on. He once remarked, 'One of the best left-backs in the country'. A prediction the young defender is quickly living up to. SuperSport United's current coach, Andre Arendse, couldn't hide his pride when speaking about Pirates target Rapoo's success at the AFCON tournament. 'Fantastic player, and I'm very happy for him. You know, we had a discussion that he's a key member of our squad. He did the job for me before he left,' Arendse said. 'It was important for him to go and realise his dreams. What he achieved in the tournament (AFCON) was fulfilling a dream, and I'm happy we played a part in that.' 'You know, we are a developing club. There's no doubt about that, and the proof is in letting players go to do bigger things. Shandre Campbell is another one who has come through the ranks. So we are very proud of that side of our club.' With Orlando Pirates making the first move, the question now is whether SuperSport United will hold onto their prized asset or let him take the next big step in his career. Will Orlando Pirates close the deal for Rapoo? Let us know by leaving a comment below or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
