GAFI's CEO highlights Egypt's green investments at Energy Law Group Global Forum
Arab Finance: Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), has participated in the Energy Law Group Global Forum, according to a statement.
Organized by Zaki Hashem & Partners Law Firm, the event showcased Egypt's experience in stimulating green investments.
Energy Law Group includes 34 legal consulting firms operating in more than 50 countries.
Heiba stated that Egypt seeks to boost reliance on renewable energy sources by issuing a law providing incentives for green hydrogen production projects and establishing the National Council for Green Hydrogen.
Egypt also granted golden licenses to several green hydrogen and ammonia projects to accelerate the construction processes to deliver the required services and final products.
Heiba pointed out that the state's success in the renewable energy sector promotes investment in other sectors, as new investments cannot be received without securing their own energy needs.
Therefore, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade prioritizes localizing renewable energy-related industries in line with its "Investment for Export" plan.
The government seeks to meet domestic manufacturing energy demands and export the surplus to industrial partners in the Middle East and Europe, according to Heiba.
GAFI's CEO elaborated on how the availability of energy contributed to attracting investments to key development areas, such as Minya, Aswan, and the Red Sea.
He added that the authority managed to attract Japanese investments to manufacture wiring harnesses for automotives in Fayoum.
The authority also seeks to attract textile industries in Minya, making the two governorates among the fastest-growing regions in terms of the value of new investments in labor-intensive activities.

Nigeria: Land reforms key to unlocking state-level revenue potential, job creation — Edun
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has welcomed UN-Habitat's technical support in shaping modern, investable urban spaces. Also, he underscored the importance of land reforms in creating jobs, enhancing state-level revenue, and enabling public-private collaboration in cities overdue for structured renewal. The minister reaffirmed this in his office in Abuja when he received a delegation from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), led by the African Regional Director, Mathias Spaliviero for a strategic dialogue on accelerating land reforms and sustainable urban development in Nigeria. Mohammed Manga, Director, Information and Public Relations said the conversation focused on the catalytic role of land titling, documentation, and spatial planning in unlocking investment into Nigeria's urban infrastructure and housing sectors. UN-Habitat expressed strong support for the Federal Government's renewed commitment to the Nigeria Land Titling and Documentation Programme, which is designed to improve land security, expand the tax base, and stimulate private capital flows into real estate, agriculture, and logistics. Dubai: Second tokenised property to be offered at discounted rate this week
The second tokenised property will be launched in Dubai this week, allowing residents to invest in the red-hot real estate market from as low as Dh2,000. Launched at Prypco Mint, the first tokenised unit from Damac Properties was fully funded in just one day last month, setting a regional benchmark for speed, demand, and investor confidence. The property attracted 224 investors from over 40 nationalities, with an average investment amount of Dh10,714. The second tokenised property will go live on Wednesday, June 11, at 11 am on the Prypco Mint. 'Following the remarkable success of the debut property, which was fully funded within 24 hours, we're excited to launch our second tokenised property on June 11, 2025. This listing features a one-bedroom apartment at Kensington Waters in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, developed by Ellington,' said Amira Sajwani, founder and CEO of Prypco. As an open, industry-first platform, she said Prypco Mint works with leading developers across the market to give investors access to the best opportunities in real estate, beyond any single developer affiliation. The new property is priced at Dh1.5 million, below its independently assessed market value of Dh1.9 million. 'We're focused on finding great deals and high-quality properties for our community, and this is another example of us delivering strong value for our investors,' she added. With a market value of Dh3 million, the first property was offered at a discount rate of Dh2.4 million. The Dubai Land Department said the waitlist exceeded 6,000 requests after the launch of the first tokenised property. 'It's clear there's a strong and growing demand for this new model of real estate investment. We're confident the second tokenised property will see an equally positive response. It's exciting to see investors embrace the benefits of liquidity, transparency, and accessibility, qualities that are transforming real estate from a traditionally static asset class into something far more dynamic and inclusive,' said Amira Sajwani. As awareness around tokenised property continues to grow, Prypco's founder said the biggest beneficiaries will be everyday residents who have traditionally been priced out of real estate investment. 'It's about financial inclusion, flexibility, and control. Residents can now start building their property portfolio in a smarter, more accessible way, whether they're investing for the first time or looking to diversify their assets,' she added.

World's top solar PV producers plan to open factories in Middle East: Report
Many of the world's top solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturers are expected to open production facilities in the Middle East region, according to Wood Mackenzie. These companies are likely to expand into Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, the global research consultancy said in its latest global solar PV module manufacturer rankings report. Although China continues to dominate the solar module manufacturing landscape in terms of scale, emerging challengers from India, South Korea, and Vietnam are rapidly closing the gap. Seven of the top 10 manufacturers now operate production facilities in three or more countries, including Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Mexico, and Vietnam. As solar PV module prices remain under pressure, manufacturers will need to strike a balance between cost reduction and ongoing investment in technology and geographic expansion. The industry's future will be shaped by continued expansion into the Middle East and Africa, efficiency gains across various technologies, rising consolidation through vertical integration, and evolving strategies to navigate trade policies and local market regulations. 'Despite financial headwinds, the solar manufacturing industry is quickly repositioning for the next cycle of global growth,' said Yana Hryshko, head of global solar supply chain at Wood Mackenzie. 'Technology leadership, supply chain control, and geographic agility will define the winners in the years ahead,' she said. (Writing by P Deol; Editing by Anoop Menon) (
