Didn't snag tickets to the Miami Grand Prix? Here's the next best thing for F1 fans

Miami Herald28-04-2025

Aaaaand it's back.
It's time for party people to start their engines again.
Formula One returns to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens for the fourth annual Miami Grand Prix May 2-4 – and for the first time, you may actually get to be trackside.
Single-day tickets are now on sale, starting at an inflation-friendly $65 to attend Friday's opening practice, up to $505 for Sunday's main event.
But if you if prefer less noise, better parking and fewer crowds, there's an alternative event that still lets you feel like you are part of the Autodrome action. The four-day Racing Fan Fest at Wynwood Marketplace kicks off Thursday, May 1. Did we mention it's free?
Just because the fest doesn't cost anything doesn't mean it isn't way worthy, or the venue isn't cool. The 75,000-square-foot plus, open-air marketplace is the perfect place to celebrate all things F1 from afar.
And not just celebrate. You'll be able to channel your inner Max Verstappen by taking the wheel of one of the state-of-the-art racing simulators on site.
If you really want to live vicariously and feel like you're in the pit, head into the Red Bull Zone, where you can test your skills changing the tires of an authentic F1 car. This is not virtual, so prepare to put in some elbow grease.
Not into the whole racecar thing? The Swarm event also features DJ sets, live performances, pop-ups, celeb appearances, as well as noshes and drinks from local eateries and national brands. Plus, it goes without saying, a ton of selfie photo ops await.
If you go:
What: F1 Fan Fest
When: Thursday: 4 p.m.- 12 a.m.; Friday: 4 p.m.-3 a.m.; Saturday: noon-3 a.m.; and Sunday: noon-9 p.m.
Where: Wynwood Marketplace, 2250 NW Second Ave., Miami.
Info: www.racingfanfest.com
RSVP: EventBrite. Free drink for the first 250 people to check in each day.

Brad Pitt Looks Straight Out of 2004 While Debuting His New Buzz Cut on the Red Carpet

Brad Pitt walked the red carpet with his new buzz cut on June 9, 2025. He attended the premiere of his new movie F1 in Mexico City, Mexico. The actor layered a lavender peak lapel suit over a white T-shirt, completing his look with tortoiseshell sunglasses and blue suede shoes. Pitt walked the carpet alongside his co-stars Damson Idris and Kerry Condon, as well as the film's director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jeremy Kleiner. Pitt debuted his latest hair transformation last month, when he was photographed in Los Angeles wearing one of his iconic early noughties styles. Pitt sported a close crop back in 2004, which some might remember as his Jennifer Aniston era. Prior to then, the Thelma & Louise star was recognized by his mid-length blonde locks. Pitt wore a buzz cut into 2005, modeling the hairstyle in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This would be the film that introduced him to his now ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. The actor's new groom includes a short beard, a noticeable difference from his clean-shaven look in F1. Pitt shot the upcoming sports film last year, in which he also debuts a crew cut with blond highlights. Earlier this year, one of Pitt's other famous exes, Gwyneth Paltrow, opened up about dating him. In a wide-ranging interview with Vanity Fair, she compared her '90s romance with Pitt to dating, of all people, Prince William. The Goop founder clarified that she's still friends with Pitt, who she broke up with in 1997. (Paltrow also said that she's friendly with another of her famous '90s beaus—Ben Affleck.) 'He's a very intriguing character,' Paltrow said of Pitt. 'It's like having dated, I don't know, Prince William or something. That's always going to come up.' Read the original article on InStyle

Canadian Grand Prix to run on the same day as the Indianapolis 500 in 2026

The Canadian Grand Prix will be held at the same time as the Indianapolis 500 in 2026. (Photo by Bryn Lennon - Formula 1/Formula 1 via Getty Images) The days of the Monaco Grand Prix preceding the Indianapolis 500 on Memorial Day weekend are gone. At least for now. Formula 1 released its 2026 schedule on Tuesday and it includes the series going head-to-head with the Indianapolis 500. The Monaco Grand Prix has moved back to June and will take place on June 7. In its place is the Canadian Grand Prix, which will be held on May 24. Advertisement This year's Canadian Grand Prix is set to be held on Sunday and has traditionally been held in mid-June. But next year's date swap is being made for travel-related reasons. Monaco will be the first race of the season in Europe. By moving the Canadian Grand Prix up and Monaco back, F1 will have nine straight European races. Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix is set to start at 2 p.m. ET for a primetime start in Europe. Assuming the race keeps that start time, it will overlap with the end of the Indy 500. The Indy 500 was scheduled to go green at 12:45 p.m. ET this year but was delayed for rain showers. The Monaco Grand Prix hasn't been held on Memorial Day weekend every year of its existence, but its absence from the same day of the Indy 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 will be a stark change for race fans who have become accustomed to watching all three events in the same day. The ninth and final European race of the year will also be a new race on the calendar. F1 will host a second race in Spain on a street circuit in Madrid on Sept. 13. That race replaces Imola on the calendar. Imola has held a spring Grand Prix in recent years, but is being dropped for 2026 and beyond. Advertisement The 2026 season begins again in Australia before races in China and Japan ahead of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The Miami Grand Prix will be on May 3, while the United States Grand Prix in Austin will be on Oct. 25 and the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be on Nov. 21. The Vegas race will again be followed by races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi to close the season. 2026 Formula 1 schedule March 8: Australian Grand Prix March 15: Chinese Grand Prix March 29: Japanese Grand Prix April 12: Bahrain Grand Prix April 19: Saudi Arabian Grand Prix May 3: Miami Grand Prix May 24: Canadian Grand Prix June 7: Monaco Grand Prix June 14: Spanish Grand Prix Advertisement June 28: Austrian Grand Prix July 5: British Grand Prix July 19: Belgian Grand Prix July 26: Hungarian Grand Prix Aug. 23: Dutch Grand Prix Sept. 6: Italian Grand Prix Sept. 13: Madrid Grand Prix Sept. 27: Azerbaijan Grand Prix Oct. 11: Singapore Grand Prix Oct. 25: United States Grand Prix Nov. 1: Mexico Grand Prix Nov. 8: São Paulo Grand Prix Nov. 21: Las Vegas Grand Prix Nov. 29: Qatar Grand Prix Dec. 6: Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
