Trump reveals what he calls Kid Rock while endorsing rocker's 'MAGA' restaurant

NASHVILLE − On the evening of its grand opening, President Donald Trump fired off support to his long-time friend Kid Rock promoting his new Music City eatery, set to officially launch June 3.
"Congratulations to my friend, Kid Rock (I call him Bob!), on the grand opening of his new Nashville restaurant, 'The Detroit Cowboy,'" Trump wrote in a post on TruthSocial. "I hear it is a very friendly MAGA establishment, and look forward to going there sometime soon!"
The endorsement caught the attention of Rock, whose real name is Robert James Richie.
"Thank you, Mr. President," Kid Rock responded on X.
The musician, who lives in Nashville, also owns a bar and steakhouse on Lower Broadway along Nashville's famous honkytonk row.
Self-professed fans of one another, the president and Rock have been pals for years.
Prior to Trump taking office, Rock was among the guests attending a fundraiser for the president in Nashville and after an attempted assassination on Trump, Rock topped the donor list for GoFundMe benefitting victims of the Trump rally shooting. More recently, Trump signed an executive order alongside Rock that addresses ticket scalping.
Aimed at protecting fans from "exploitative ticket scalping" and reforming the U.S. live entertainment ticketing industry, the order directs appointed leaders to ensure ticket scalpers comply with the Internal Revenue Service's tax collections and other applicable law. It also directs the Federal Trade Commission to work with the attorney general to ensure that competition laws are enforced in the concert and entertainment industry.

Rock's new restaurant, The Detroit Cowboy and Joe Muer Seafood, is in Nashville.
It's nestled in the city's Capitol View neighborhood, next to scores of other stores and restaurants several blocks north of Broadway.
According to its website, The Detroit Cowboy boast iconic seafood and steak, and "is a celebration of two great American cities − Detroit and Nashville."
The new establishment combines "the rich traditions of Joe Muer Seafood's fine dining experience with the soul of both Detroit and Nashville's music scenes and histories," it reads.
"The Detroit Cowboy is the only place on earth where Detroit grit and Nashville swagger collide for the finest dining hangout," Rock said in a statement. "The Vicaris and Joe Muer know fine dining, I know how to hang pictures, create a vibe and make things fun all while still holding two middle fingers up high for the haters. To put it simply, I am here to take the foo-foo out of fine dining."
The Detroit Cowboy opened in May, but the grand opening is set for June 3.
Rock announced his partnership with Joe Muer owner The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group on April 29. Doors opened on May 5.
As of June 3, the restaurant's website was accepting reservations online.
