Victim of fatal New Hampshire crash identified, dump truck driver charged with DWI
The victim of a fatal crash that occurred in Ossipee, New Hampshire, on Friday has been identified.
80-year-old Dorothy Marshall of Ossipee was killed after her car collided with a Mack dump truck on Route 28.
According to police, around noon on Friday, May 16, Ossipee officers were dispatched to Route 28 for reports of a crash.
An initial investigation revealed that a 2005 Mack dump truck, driven by Robert Gifford, 54, of Rochester, collided with a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, which was being driven by Marshall.
As a result of the crash, additional assistance from the State Police and a Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
The investigation resulted in the findings that Gifford had been traveling Northbound on Route 28 when he lost control of the truck, causing it to roll over and collide with Marshall, who was traveling in the opposite direction.
Gifford was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. He is currently being held on bail and pending an arraignment on Monday, May 19.

Two children injured after being hit by car in Woburn, police say
Two children were struck by a car while riding a bike in Woburn on Tuesday. According to police, the collision occurred around 5:15 p.m. in the area of Cambridge Road and Sylvanus Wood Lane. Witnesses reportedly told arriving officers one of the children was operating the bike while the second one was standing on pegs in the back. The juvenile bicyclist took a wide left turn onto Cambridge Road when they were hit head-on by a vehicle, according to police. Both children were taken to an area hospital with minor injures. Pair charged following high-speed police chase from Hooksett to Franklin
Two people were taken into custody following a police chase involving speeds over 100 mph on Interstate 93 late Monday that began in Hooksett and ended in Franklin, State Police said. Phillip Bryson Phillip Bryson At 10:59 p.m. Monday, State Police were notified to be on the lookout for a vehicle whose driver, later identified as Philip Bryson, 53, of Somersworth, had allegedly fled from a Hooksett Police officer during an attempted traffic stop. The vehicle, a 2015 white Ford Escape, was reported to be traveling northbound on I-93 from the Hooksett Welcome Center at speeds over 100 mph and with no taillights, State Police said in a news release Tuesday. A state trooper reported spotting the Ford traveling northbound near Exit 12 in Concord — still at a high speed and with no taillights — and attempted to pull the SUV over but the driver failed to stop and a chase ensued. State troopers deployed spike strips, which deflated one of the Ford's front tires, officials said, but the driver continued north until exiting I-93 at Exit 17. The chase continued onto Route 4, through Boscawen and Salisbury, where the driver eventually turned onto Route 127, according to the report. Roxanne Quaile Roxanne Quaile After crossing the border into Franklin, State Police say, the Ford turned onto a small dirt road and stopped about a half-mile later in front of a mobile home. A male driver, identified as Bryson, exited the vehicle and entered the home, police said, while a female passenger, identified as Roxanne Quaile, 38, of Franklin, was taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant. Troopers and officers from the Franklin Police Department set up a perimeter around the mobile home, and after 'a period of negotiations' Bryson exited the home and was taken into custody, the report said. Bryson was charged with operating as a habitual offender, disobeying an officer, resisting arrest, reckless conduct and reckless operation. State Trooper injured after fleeing driver ‘intentionally rammed' cruiser during I-81 chase
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Pennsylvania State Trooper was injured when a driver 'intentionally rammed' his cruiser during a chase on I-81 in Dauphin County over the weekend, court documents show. Angel Gonzalez, 52, of Delaware County, allegedly led a seven-mile chase that began in Cumberland County when a Trooper tried pulling him over for multiple violations, State Police at Harrisburg said in court documents. Eighteen people cited for underage alcohol at York County Expo Center event Spike strips were used in an attempt to stop Gonzalez, who was driving a 2002 Nissan Maxima, according to Troopers. A 'PIT Maneuver' brought Gonzalez to a brief stop while on the interstate in the Harrisburg City area, but he allegedly began driving away in the wrong direction down a small embankment and into the center median, Troopers said. Court documents show Gonzalez allegedly rammed a Trooper's vehicle 'intentionally' on the shoulder of I-81, causing a back injury to the Trooper.
