Man fled cops on mule, later released raccoon in bar he was banned from, KY cops say
A Kentucky man accused of taking police on a chase while riding a mule was arrested after police said he released a raccoon into a bar he was banned from.
Around 9:15 p.m. June 6, the Murray Police Department was called for reports of a man who intentionally released a raccoon into a business, according to a June 10 Facebook post by police.
Police found the 40-year-old man driving his car and pulled him over, but he refused to roll his window down for officers, police said. They then removed him from his vehicle, according to police.
Mary Hafner, a bartender who works at the business, told the New York Post the man had already been drinking when he showed up, and he was asked to leave since he was previously banned from the bar.
That's when the man decided to release the raccoon, police said.
'Apparently he had trapped a raccoon earlier in the day on his farm and he had been carrying it around with him,' Hafner told The Post.
Police learned the raccoon bit someone inside.
'It was more scared than anything,' Hafner told the New York Post. 'It was pretty upsetting for him.'
The man was arrested and charged with assault, criminal trespassing, resisting arrest and failure of owner to maintain required insurance.
The man was involved in an incident at the same bar in December involving a mule, according to WDKY.
On Dec. 7, police were called to the bar for an 'unruly individual,' a Dec. 9 Facebook post by police said.
The man was asked to leave but wouldn't, police said. When police arrived, the man was drunk and on a mule he had ridden to the bar, according to officers. Police ordered him to stop, but he refused, the release said.
Eventually, the man was arrested and witnesses told police they saw the man 'whip the mule at a different establishment an 'unnecessary amount' of times,' police said.
The man was taken to jail and the mule was stabled. However, two days later, the man showed up drunk to where the mule was stabled and began riding it down the street, police said.
Officers tried to stop him, but he took off on the mule and refused to stop, according to police. He was arrested.

Fact Check: AI-generated image shows Trump on Epstein's jet with underage girls
Claim: A photo shared online authentically depicts U.S. President Donald Trump on an airplane with underage girls. Rating: An image being shared online in June 2025 purported to depict U.S. President Donald Trump on board an airplane surrounded by five young blonde girls. Many users sharing the alleged photograph pointed out the girls are underage, with others ruminating how their looks are reminiscent of Trump's daughter Ivanka. The image was shared widely on X (archived, archived, archived), Threads (archived), Facebook (archived) and TikTok (archived), with some of the posts (archived) further alleging that the airplane in question belonged to disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein (now deceased). The image shared online purporting to show Donald Trump alongside underage girls, allegedly on Epstein's private jet, is fake. While there are authentic images of Trump alongside Epstein, plenty of false images have spread widely on the internet, including other fake photos of Trump with underage girls. The specific image in question has been shared online since at least 2023. It appeared in posts on meme websites Imgur and 9GAG in April 2023 before spreading to social media. In January 2024, Hollywood actor Mark Ruffalo even apologized for sharing fake images of Trump with underage girls, including the one in question. The actor wrote, "Sorry Folks. Apparently these images are AI fakes. The fact Trump was on Epstein's plane and what Epstein was up to is not." Indeed, the photograph was generated with artificial intelligence (AI). The AI-detection tool Hive Moderation reported a 99.8% chance the image was made using AI and was thoroughly debunked when it originally circulated. While the image was debunked during its original circulation, Trump's public feud with Elon Musk, who posted on social media that Trump appeared in Epstein's files in June 2025, brought the image back to prominence and is likely to blame for the proliferation of new claims. Snopes previously debunked fake images of Trump and Epstein with a minor as well as Trump and Epstein together on a private jet, though there have been authentic images of the pair together. How Israel's Mossad spy network infiltrated the heart of Iran before unprecedented attack wreaked havoc on air defense, missile infrastructure
Israeli spies infiltrated the heart of Iran before Friday morning's Operation 'Rising Lion' airstrikes and damaged the country's missile infrastructure and air defenses in a series of covert operations. Intelligence agents with Israel's Mossad smuggled in weaponry that destroyed defense measures inside Iran, which threatened Israeli military capabilities. Agents deployed 'significant measures' on large quantities of special weaponry and deployed them across Iran, targeting designated areas, an Israeli security source told The Post. 5 An explosion from an Israeli airstrike on Iran during Operation Rising Lion on June 13, 2025. IDF 'Significant intelligence was gathered and surveillance was conducted to incriminate senior members of the Iranian defense establishment and nuclear scientists who were eliminated,' the source said. 'This was carried out alongside a covert operational campaign targeting Iran's strategic missile array.' The stealth campaign was conducted in three separate operations at the same time as Israel launched its airstrike, each targeting specific weaponry and defense systems in Iran. Commando units deployed precision-guided weapons near Iran's surface-to-air missile defenses and targeted the Iranian systems. A second operation set up strike systems and mounted technology onto vehicles that were launched at Iranian air defense systems. The final operation targeted Iran's surface-to-surface missile launchers at a base outside of Tehran. 5 A map of Iran where Israel's airstrikes struck on June 13, 2025. 5 The Israeli air strikes targets a truck in Iran. IDF Explosive-laden drones had been smuggled in and stashed in the heart of Iran before the unmanned aerial vehicles flew to the base and destroyed the launchers that had 'posed a threat to Israeli strategic and civilian targets.' The sabotage operations allowed Israel's airstrikes to destroy radars and other surface-to-air defenses. Nuclear plants and uranium enrichment facilities were also targeted. 5 An explosion from an Israeli airstrike on Iran's weapon cache. Border Patrol union chief says they're in it ‘for the long haul' as anti-ICE riots rage in LA
Dedicated Border Patrol agents deployed to Los Angeles to quell the anti-ICE riots are in it 'for the long haul,' with their union head saying they're reinvigorated and ready to crack down under President Trump. 'We are not going to leave until the job is done,' National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez told The Post this week. 'And that means making sure that Los Angeles is safe and secure and not chaotic and lawless like it's been in the past.' 3 National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez has vowed his agents won't leave Los Angeles 'until the job is done.' Getty Images Border Patrol agents, including from specialized units such as Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), have been sent in from Arizona to restore order in LA as rioters descended onto the streets, sources told The Post. It's unclear how many agents were deployed. But they're armed and ready with 'pepperball launchers' and 'chemical munitions' to deter the rioters, said Perez. 'Our agents are trained in riot control, it's something that every agent gets trained on,' said Perez. 3 Rioters assaulted federal agents, including those from Customs and Border Protection, with rocks and bricks over the weekend. Barbara Davidson/NYPost 'Our guys are mainly there in a support role to assist ICE and all the other federal partners because we have that specific training.' Rioters assaulted federal agents, including those from Customs and Border Protection, with rocks and bricks over the weekend as the anti-ICE protests took a violent turn in the City of Angels. Riots broke out after ICE began raiding illegal immigrant work hubs like Home Depot parking lots across the city. Some of the demonstrators attempted to block federal agents from making arrests of illegal migrants while looters broke into local shops. 3 It's unclear how many Border Patrol agents were deployed to Los Angeles. Barbara Davidson/NYPost President Trump later deployed 2,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to control the situation. But as some border agents are in LA, they're not done with their mission of securing the frontlines with Mexico even as illegal crossings have dipped to record lows. While the mission to achieve 'operational control' of the southern border is not yet complete, agents are nearing that goal, said Perez. And border agents are ready to hit the lofty objective with morale through the roof under Trump. 'I believe we're getting there really, really quick. Under President Trump's term, we'll definitely hit that,' said Perez. 'What happened to us under the Biden administration was the lowest of the low,' Perez said. 'And when President Trump came into office, this is the highest it's ever been as far as morale, so we're really enjoying working for President Trump.'
