Bragar Eagel & Squire, P.C. Reminds Investors That Class Action Lawsuits Have Been Filed Against Open Lending Corporation, Civitas Resources, and Avis Budget and Encourages Investors to Contact the Firm

NEW YORK, June 16, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bragar Eagel & Squire, P.C., a nationally recognized shareholder rights law firm, reminds investors that class actions have been commenced on behalf of stockholders of Open Lending Corporation (NASDAQ:LPRO), NET Power, Inc. (NYSE:NPWR), Civitas Resources, Inc. (NYSE: CIVI), and Avis Budget Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAR). Stockholders have until the deadlines below to petition the court to serve as lead plaintiff. Additional information about each case can be found at the link provided. Open Lending Corporation (NASDAQ:LPRO) Class Period: February 24, 2022 – March 31, 2025 Lead Plaintiff Deadline: June 30, 2025 The complaint filed in this class action alleges that throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements, as well as failed to disclose material adverse facts about the Company's business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants: (1) misrepresented the capabilities of the Company's risk-based pricing models; (2) issued materially misleading statements regarding the Company's profit share revenue; (3) failed to disclose the Company's 2021 and 2022 vintage loans had become worth significantly less than their corresponding outstanding loan balances; (4) misrepresented the underperformance of the Company's 2023 and 2024 vintage loans; and (5) as a result of the foregoing, Defendants' positive statements about the Company's business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis. For more information on the Open Lending class action go to: NET Power, Inc. (NYSE:NPWR) Class Period: June 9, 2023 – March 7, 2025 Lead Plaintiff Deadline: June 17, 2025 Net Power is a clean energy technology company. Its business is centered around its so-called 'Net Power Cycle' technology, which is a purported novel power generation system designed to produce reliable and affordable electricity from natural gas while capturing virtually all atmospheric emissions. Net Power has a facility located in La Porte, Texas, which it uses to demonstrate the viability of the NET Power Cycle, referred to as 'La Porte' or the 'Demonstration Plant.' Net Power conducts research and equipment validation testing campaigns at the Demonstration Plant as part of its efforts to develop its first utility-scale plant, which it variably refers to as 'SN1' or 'Project Permian.' Project Permian is located at a site in the Permian Basin of West Texas. Since before the start of the Class Period, Defendants had represented that they anticipated SN1 to be operational in 2026. In 2023, Net Power's cost estimate for Project Permian was roughly $950 million, which increased to $1.1 billion in 2024. Net Power's commencement of commercial operations and, accordingly, its business and financial prospects, rely on its completion of Project Permian. As such, Defendants' projected timelines and cost estimates for Project Permian are of particular importance to investors and analysts. The Complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and misleading statements regarding the Company's business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) Net Power was unlikely to complete Project Permian on schedule, and the project was likely to be significantly more expensive than Defendants had represented, because of, inter alia, supply chain issues and numerous site- and region-specific challenges; (ii) accordingly, Defendants' projections regarding the time and capital needed to complete Project Permian were unrealistic; (iii) the increased time and capital needed to complete Project Permian were likely to have a significant negative impact on the Company's business and financial results; and (iv) as a result, Defendants' public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. For more information on the NET Power class action go to: Civitas Resources, Inc. (NYSE: CIVI) Class Period: February 27, 2024 – February 24, 2025 Lead Plaintiff Deadline: July 1, 2025 The Civitas Resources class action lawsuit alleges that defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) Civitas Resources was highly likely to significantly reduce its oil production in 2025 as a result of, among other things, declines following the production peak at the DJ Basin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and a low TIL count at the end of 2024; (ii) increasing its oil production would require Civitas Resources to acquire additional acreage and development locations, thereby incurring significant debt and causing Civitas Resources to sell corporate assets to offset its acquisition costs; (iii) Civitas Resources' financial condition would require it to implement disruptive cost reduction measures including a significant workforce reduction; and (iv) accordingly, Civitas Resources' business and/or financial prospects, as well as its operational capabilities, were overstated. The Civitas Resources class action lawsuit further alleges that on February 24, 2025, Civitas Resources announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2024, reporting revenue of $1.29 billion, missing consensus estimates by $3.44 million, and non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.78 for the quarter, missing consensus estimates by $0.21 per share. According to the complaint, also on February 24, 2025, Civitas Resources revealed several 2025 outlook highlights, including '[d]elivering oil production between 150 and 155 thousand barrels per day ('MBbl/d') on average,' – a year-over-year decline of approximately 4% –'[e]xpanding [its] Permian Basin position with a $300 million bolt-on transaction that adds 19,000 net acres and approximately 130 future development locations in the Midland Basin,' and '[e]xecuting on [a] new divestment target of $300 million' meant to offset the foregoing transaction. Civitas Resources explained that '[a]s compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, lower volumes are primarily driven by the DJ Basin, due to natural declines following peak production in the fourth quarter, a low TIL count exiting 2024 and in the first quarter of 2025,' as well as severe winter weather and unplanned third-party processing downtime in the first quarter, the Civitas Resources class action lawsuit alleges. Civitas Resources additionally announced a 10% reduction in its workforce across all levels and the termination of its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Transformation Officer, according to the complaint. On this news, the price of Civitas Resources stock fell more than 18%, according to the Civitas Resources class action lawsuit. For more information on the Civitas class action go to: Avis Budget Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:CAR) Class Period: February 16, 2024 – February 10, 2025 Lead Plaintiff Deadline: June 24, 2025 The lawsuit alleges that Defendants made materially false and misleading statements and/or failed to disclose material adverse information regarding the Company's business, operations, and prospects, including allegations that: (i) Avis Budget crafted and implemented a plan to significantly accelerate its fleet rotation in the fourth quarter of 2024; (ii) the foregoing acceleration shortened the useful life of the majority of the Company's vehicles in the Americas segment, thereby reducing their recoverable value; (iii) as a result, Avis Budget would be forced to recognize billions of dollars in impairment charges and incur substantial losses; (iv) all the foregoing was likely to, and did, have a significant negative impact on the Company's financial results; and (v) accordingly, Avis Budget's financial and/or business prospects were overstated. For more information on the Avis Budget class action go to: About Bragar Eagel & Squire, P.C.: Bragar Eagel & Squire, P.C. is a nationally recognized law firm with offices in New York, California, and South Carolina. This Canadian Stock Could Be the Best Investment This Decade

Written by Amy Legate-Wolfe at The Motley Fool Canada When looking for the best Canadian stock to own this decade, the answer may not be a flashy newcomer or a trendy pick. It may just be one of the quietest, most consistent performers on the TSX. Constellation Software (TSX:CSU) isn't a household name for most Canadians, but it has built one of the strongest track records in Canadian market history. For long-term investors, this could be the stock to hold for the next 10 years and beyond. Constellation Software is a Toronto-based company that acquires and operates vertical market software businesses. That means it buys companies that serve specific industries, like software for libraries, police departments, or insurance brokers. These aren't high-growth social media apps or cloud platforms with huge hype. Instead, they're niche businesses that provide mission-critical services and generate reliable recurring revenue. And that's the secret to Constellation's success. The Canadian stock is now valued at around $104 billion and has grown consistently since going public in 2006. It operates through six major business units across North America, Europe, and Australia. Each division runs semi-independently, allowing local managers to focus on their customers while benefiting from the strength of the overall company. That decentralized model has allowed Constellation to scale without losing its grip on performance. In its most recent earnings report for the first quarter of 2025, Constellation reported revenue of US$2.7 billion, up 13% from the same period last year. Net income came in at US$115 million, up nearly 10%. Over the last 12 months, the company has generated $14.9 billion in revenue and $1.1 billion in net income. Those numbers are impressive for any company, let alone one that rarely makes headlines. The software firm is also incredibly efficient. Its return on equity is 26%, and its return on assets is 7.5%. Constellation is a cash machine, bringing in over $3.1 billion in free cash flow over the last year. It uses that cash to make more acquisitions, often small ones that fly under the radar but add meaningful long-term value. Unlike some Canadian stocks that make one big splashy deal, Constellation has made hundreds of small ones over the years. That strategy has worked exceptionally well. Yes, the Canadian stock trades at a high valuation. CSU's trailing price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio is around 97, and its forward P/E sits near 41. But this has never been a cheap stock, and it likely never will be. That's because investors are willing to pay up for the consistency, profitability, and long-term strategy. The Canadian stock has very little customer churn, very little debt pressure, and a clear path for continued growth. And in a world where many tech companies are still chasing profits, Constellation has delivered year after year. Analyst sentiment remains strong. Most experts have a buy or hold rating on the stock, with an average target price above $5,200. That's modest upside from current levels, but the real appeal here is the compound growth over time. It's not going to double overnight, but that's not the point. This is a long-term compounder, not a short-term trade. As Canadians tighten budgets due to rising mortgage costs and market uncertainty, it's more important than ever to focus on high-quality, dependable investments. In that kind of environment, owning a steady compounder like Constellation makes a lot of sense. Constellation Software may not get the same buzz as other tech names, but its results speak for themselves. It grows steadily, manages capital wisely, and serves industries that don't disappear in downturns. For anyone looking to invest in a Canadian stock that could define their portfolio over the next decade, CSU might be the one to watch. It's quietly magnificent, and exactly the kind of Canadian stock built to last. The post This Canadian Stock Could Be the Best Investment This Decade appeared first on The Motley Fool Canada. Dividend Investors: Why I'd Buy Telus Stock Over BCE Any Day

Written by Joey Frenette at The Motley Fool Canada The Canadian telecom scene has been through a hurricane of volatility in recent years, to say the least. With telecom titan BCE (TSX:BCE) slashing its dividend payout, passive income investors may be wondering if the worst is over yet. And while BCE stock has struggled to gain traction, I think that its new payout is more than sustainable. As I noted in a prior piece covering BCE and its big dividend reduction, I think there could be a long-term pathway to recovery and, with that, above-average dividend growth prospects. In any case, I have no idea if BCE's pains will be subsiding anytime soon. There are a lot of issues to address before shareholders can feel comfortable again. And while buying the dip may seem wise, I think that there's a better way to play the telecom scene while getting a much heftier dividend yield for doing so. While I'm not against picking up a few shares of BCE at around $30-32 while the dividend is just shy of the 6% mark, I just find Telus (TSX:T) and its massive 7.6% yield to be a better bet. Not only will you get more income, but the stock chart isn't nearly as horrifying. Of course, it's too early to tell if a bottom is already in the name. Either way, Telus stock seems somewhat less difficult to own than the likes of its now smaller rival. In any case, Telus stock has a long way to go if it's to see its prior highs of around $35 per share again. Industry headwinds have been tough, but recent quarters give investors something to be hopeful for, even if industry headwinds prevail for another few years. At the time of writing, T stock goes for 27.9 times trailing price to earnings (P/E), which is still not cheap for a name that's lost more than 35% of its value from peak levels. Still, the growing, swollen dividend yield is so tempting. And if you can get behind the company's turnaround story, I find the name to be a top pick in the ultra-high-yield space today. The company recently proposed to buy back Telus Digital after spinning off the business around four years prior. Indeed, perhaps there's a bit of value to be unlocked as the firm looks to turn around the IT service provider that hasn't really had the best time on its own following the 2021 spin-off. Deal or not, I'm a big fan of Telus's balance sheet and the growth options it can provide the firm as it tries to sustain a comeback. Additionally, Telus seems open to using generative artificial intelligence to save money in various areas, such as customer service. Any added margin gains are sure to be welcomed by investors as the company continues to slog through a difficult environment. In any case, I'm a fan of management and think the firm has what it takes to invest in long-term growth while keeping its fat dividend intact. For that reason, I like T stock more than most other dividend payers, yielding over 7%. The post Dividend Investors: Why I'd Buy Telus Stock Over BCE Any Day appeared first on The Motley Fool Canada.
