Kate Middleton's one wish for Lilibet and heartbreaking four-word admission

Daily Mirror3 days ago

Kate Middleton shared her one wish for her estranged niece, Lilibet, in the days after she was born – and made a heartbreaking confession about their relationship
Kate Middleton shared her one adorable wish for her niece shortly after her birth. Princess Lilibet, the only daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, celebrates her fourth birthday today (June 4).
She was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and lives in Montecito with her two parents and older brother, Archie. The family are not believed to keep regular contact with their royal relatives, with some members of the Firm having never met the Sussex children. As reported by HELLO!, royal correspondent Danielle Stacey said: "It has never been officially confirmed whether the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children have met Princess Lilibet."

However, Kate made it clear she had not spoken to her niece in the days following her birth. In a TikTok posted by CBS News back in June 2021, Kate was asked whether she had any wishes for Lilibet.

"I wish her all the very best," Kate said.
"I can't wait to meet her, because we haven't yet... met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon."
The Princess of Wales was then asked if she had FaceTimed with her young niece. To this, she heartbreakingly responded: "No, I haven't. No."
Last year, Harry and Meghan celebrated Lilibet's third birthday with a special party at their home.
The Mirror reported at the time that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had kept the guestlist small.

No members of the Royal Family attended the bash. However, it is thought a number of Meghan and Harry's close friends, as well as their daughter's peers, celebrated the big day with the young princess.
Royal author Tom Quinn has claimed celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom with their daughter Daisy were also present.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror last year, Tom said: "Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet's third birthday – hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple's mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet."
Meghan and Harry became neighbours with Katy and Orlando when they moved to their home in Montecito after stepping down from the Royal Family. They also live close to Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow and Oprah Winfrey.
While there were plenty of celebrities at Lilibet's birthday party, members of the Royal Family weren't invited. Tom said: "Shockingly no invitations to Lilibet's party were issued to members of the Royal Family."
Last month Meghan enjoyed Mother's Day celebrations with both of her children, with the big day falling on May 11 in the US.

Meghan Markle shares video of her, Prince Harry and their kids at Disneyland

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, continues to share sweet snippets of her family life with husband Prince Harry and their two kids, Archie and Lilibet. In her latest Instagram post, the former Meghan Markle shared a video collage filled with photos of their trip to Disneyland for their daughter's fourth birthday. 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!' Meghan captioned her post Friday. The video, set to Peggy Lee's 'It's a Good Day,' shows Lilbet and Archie meeting Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen.' In all the pictures she included of their little ones, their faces are obscured or covered with a heart. The recap of their trip to the Happiest Place on Earth also includes the family on rides like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the Cars Land ride and many more. There's also a silly photo of Meghan and Harry screaming while on Space Mountain. The two are sitting front row with their mouths wide open — yet appearing like they're having fun. And the festivities continued for the family of four. Meghan also shows Lilibet's 'Little Mermaid' birthday cake, their Mickey and Minnie stuffed dolls, the corn dogs and pickles they munched on during their trip and several other family photos from the park. Among the cutest is one of all four posing together, in which Lilibet is barefoot and in a pink dress with bows. The latest look into Meghan's personal home life comes after she celebrated her daughter's birthday on June 4. The former 'Suits' star shared a number of photos of her little girl from when she was born to their most recent adventures together. There were also snaps of Harry and his 'favorite adventurer' holding hands. 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives — and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' Meghan wrote in her first post. Additionally, she also posted a never-before-seen video of when she was pregnant with Lilibet and dancing with Harry at the hospital in hopes to induce labor. 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work — there was only one thing left to do!' she captioned the fun and rare video of them. Meghan returned to Instagram on Jan. 1 after leaving the platform in early 2018 during her highly publicized engagement to Harry. Among her posts include family photos, outings and news about her podcast, Netflix projects and more.

Prince William and Princess Sophie wow crowds as they team up for rare Royal double act

Sophie has been touted as the Royal Family's 'secret weapon' SHARE TO THE THRONE Prince William and Princess Sophie wow crowds as they team up for rare Royal double act Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCE William and his aunt Sophie teamed up yesterday in a rare royal double act. They toasted each other with gin during a joint engagement at the Royal Cornwall Show — and she proved to be a tonic by helping out with the heir to the throne's duties. When he was offered a Rattler cider, Wills, 42, quipped: 'Everyone remembers their first Rattler. You don't remember your last.' He pretended to turn his nose up at the zero per cent alcohol option he was initially offered and asked for the proper stuff. At a gin stand, Wills joked he could 'see what today's going to be like' and also teased Sophie. They had been taken into a food and drinks tent, where Sophie was also seen happily chatting to a mother and baby about local produce. They went first to a chutney stand and then to the gin stall as William said: 'We've come from the chutneys straight into booze.' They were shown several gins before each were given one to try. He caught the Duchess going for another sip and joked to her: 'She said, 'You're not allowed to finish it'. You've got to watch her.' Sophie, 60, responded: 'He's learnt from the best.' Wills joked back: 'I've been caught out with whisky a few too many times. Desperate Harry & Meghan jump from idea to idea, only William & Kate have true clout "I think I can do that and then, 'Oh no I couldn't'.' The pair were also given a traditional Cornish pasty by Ann's Pasties. They then moved to the Healeys Cyder Farm stand, where William said: 'Look at the Rattler selection. Ah, definitely I'm happy about that.' Head of hospitality Laura Clerehugh, 36, said: 'I was going to say, you've had a Rattler.' William responded: 'Everyone remembers where they were when they had their first Rattler, I can tell you that.' He then laughingly agreed that you don't remember your last. Wills then asked about the 'zero' on the bottle, and when told that it meant zero alcohol he put the cup down and said: 'Oh no, no, no. I need original. Someone bring out the big guns.' Sources said the day was a huge success. Sophie has been touted as the Royal Family's 'secret weapon' thanks to her unwavering support for the monarchy and dedication to charities. She was ranked the fourth hardest working royal of last year, having carried out 257 engagements. Her welcome contribution comes at a difficult time for the Royal Family. They were rocked last year when the King and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer. Charles continues to receive treatment, while Kate announced earlier this year that she was in remission. The King had a blast yesterday as he fired an artillery piece on a visit to the Royal Regiment of Artillery at Larkhill, Wiltshire.
