
Large fire breaks out at recycling centre in Swadlincote
Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at a recycling centre in Swadlincote.Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a business in Willshee Way at 12:51 BST on Sunday.Eight fire engines, a water carrier, and a command unit were deployed.Large plumes of black smoke could be seen for miles around, and people in the area have been urged to keep their doors and windows closed.A fire service spokesperson said: "Fire crews are working hard to contain the fire and are expected to be on scene into the evening."
Fire crews from Staffordshire have also been called to assist with the blaze.
