More Igloo coolers recalled after fingertip amputations
(WJW) – The popular cooler-making company Igloo has expanded an earlier recall after receiving nearly 80 reports of fingertip injuries, including more than two dozen that resulted in fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The initial recall, issued in February 2025, included more than 1 million of the company's 90 Qt. 'Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers.' At the time, the company reported receiving 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.
'The tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards,' explained the original recall notice.

Since then, the number of injuries reported has increased.
'Since the recall was announced in February 2025, Igloo has received 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 resulting in fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations,' reads the latest recall notice. 'Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.'
According to the recall, the coolers were sold at popular nationwide retailers such as Costco, Target, Dick's, as well as online at Amazon and Igloocoolers.com.

Recalled coolers were sold in a variety of colors from January 2019 through January 2025. The expanded recall now includes an additional 130,000 coolers manufactured prior to January 2024, according to CPSC.

Motorcycle pulling a camper trailer overturns in fatal crash
GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WJW) – A 44-year-old woman was killed when the Harley Davidson motorcycle she was a passenger on overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jill L. Morris, 44, of Uhrichsville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in Goshen Township by the Tuscarawas County Coroner's Office. 'Once-in-a-lifetime:' When you can see all three Goodyear Blimps together over NE Ohio The 47-year-old driver of the motorcycle, Keith A. Morris, 47, of Uhrichsville, sustained life-threatening injuries, said officials in a press release. He was initially transported to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital but was later flown by helicopter to Akron General Hospital. The crash happened Sunday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., on US Route 250 near mile post 13. According to troopers, the two were traveling eastbound on a blue 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and pulling a camper trailer. The motorcycle overturned and slid off the right side of the roadway,' stated a press release.
