Lucknow: Chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh reviewed arrangements for World Yoga Day on Friday. Programmes related to the event will be held across the state from June 15 to 21. The CS said that this year's theme for Yoga Day is 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'. Under this, a Yoga Week will be organised from June 15 to 21. The inauguration ceremony of Yoga Week will be held on June 15 at all district headquarters, tehsil, block, and village panchayat levels. "Preparations for its organisation should be ensured in a timely manner. Sites of cultural and historical significance in the district should be selected for yoga practice. Information on yoga practice should be uploaded daily on the portal with photos. All competitions should be conducted transparently and impartially," the CS said. Principal secretary, AYUSH, Ranjan Kumar informed the CS that competitions are being organised at the district and state level on Yoga Day. These include essay, slogan, yoga painting, and yoga asana competitions. The AYUSH department has prepared a portal to allow people to participate in the competitions. Bhopal: Bhopal collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh was presented with a citation and a memento on behalf of governor Mangubhai Patel. This recognition was for the welfare programmes being run for the families of martyred soldiers and ex-servicemen, as well as for collecting funds for the Armed Forces Flag Fund, exceeding the target given to Bhopal district. Retired Colonel Rajiv Khatri presented the citation and the memento to the collector on behalf of the governor. An amount of Rs 15,08,081 was collected against the target of Rs 13,51,900 by Bhopal district in the year 2024-25 for the welfare of ex-servicemen and the families of martyred soldiers.
