Durian farmer drifts on Sungai Kelantan for days
A MAN in his 50s faced a harrowing experience when he was stranded on a raft on Sungai Kelantan for a few days, before he was rescued by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).
Sinar Harian reported that the man was spotted during a routine patrol near the APM Marine Unit Jetty, Tambatan Diraja at around 5pm on Tuesday.
'Five of us on a fibreglass boat approached the raft and upon questioning, we found that the man had been drifting for several days in Sungai Kelantan.
'He said he is from Tanah Merah and boarded a raft to go to his durian farm, but was carried away by the strong river current,' said APM officer Abdullah Md Zain.
He advised the public to be vigilant when carrying out activities on the river to prevent unwanted incidents from happening.

Kosmo! reported that he had been approached by several producers to act in their shows, but Hafidz rejected them due to his previous cases.

Hafidz was recently acquitted of a domestic violence charge involving his ex-wife.

The raid saw 12 suspects taken into custody. The authorities explained that the group were producing and distributing – as well as live-streaming – pornographic content. The 12 suspects included six Chinese nationals, five Cambodians and a Malaysian. Computers, condoms and a range of sex toys were seized during the raid. Sreang said the 12 suspects were sent to court on June 6. It was unclear how long they had been producing pornographic content for. He confirmed that he ordered the raid, in coordination with Seng Mengsrun, deputy prosecutor at Phnom Penh Municipal Court. The Kingdom's Law on Suppression of Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation explained that anyone who possesses, distributes, sells, rents, displays, screens or publicly shows pornographic images shall face a term of imprisonment of from 7 days to 1 month and a fine of 100,000 to 200,000 riel (US$25 to US$50). The production of pornographic images or materials carries a prison term of from 1 month to 1 year and a fine of 100,000 (US$25) to 2,000,000 riels (US$500). 5 family members killed in Jerantut crash
KUANTAN: Five members of a family were killed in a two-vehicle collision on Jalan Jerantut Feri, Jerantut, around midnight last night. Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Mohd Razam Taja Rahim said the incident, which occurred around midnight, involved a Perodua Bezza and a Toyota Alphard. He said three men and two women, aged between 17 and 26, who were travelling in the Perodua Bezza, died at the scene. Two of the victims were trapped inside the vehicle, while the other three were thrown out due to the impact. "The victims in the Toyota Alphard comprised two men and one woman, all of whom sustained injuries," he said in a statement today. He added that initial investigations revealed the Toyota Alphard was travelling from Pulau Tawar to Jerantut, while the Perodua Bezza was on its way from Bota, Perak, to Jerantut. Mohd Razam said firefighters used rescue tool equipment to extricate the trapped victims, and all five deceased were handed over to the police for further action.
