Married Irish woman 'sexually assaults man at Magaluf spa hotel' where she was staying with her husband

A married Irish woman has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a man at the spa of a Magaluf hotel where she is understood to have been staying with her husband. The 37-year-old was hauled to court after being accused of touching her alleged victim's genitals without his consent. She was taken into the court building in the Majorcan capital Palma by an armed police officer. Cops are expected to reveal more detail about yesterday's arrest in the coming hours. The Irish tourist, who was released on bail by an investigating judge still probing the alleged crime, has not been named. The alleged sex assault happened around 6pm on Tuesday. The hotel has not been identified. Well-placed sources said the Swedish man was already in the hotel sauna when the female holidaymaker came in and sat near him and struck up a conversation with him after asking him how long he had been in Magaluf. She left the sauna and took a dip in a swimming pool beside it before following the man into a Turkish steam bath where the alleged sex assault took place according to a police report sent to the investigating court. The male holidaymaker is understood to have alerted hotel staff who called the police after telling the Irish woman to stop as she 'sexually molested' him without warning. Although she denied any inappropriate behaviour when cops reached the hotel and quizzed her on the spot, she told the judge she regretted her actions and wrongly thought the man was interested in her in court hours later. Her alleged court confession has not yet been confirmed by police or court officials.

Coming out as gay 'daunting' - Armagh All-Ireland winner Shields

Armagh's Mark Shields admits coming out as a gay inter-county footballer was "daunting", but says it was "important to tell my own story" as he publicly discussed his sexuality for the first time. An All-Ireland winner with the Orchard County in 2024, Shields spoke about coming out in the GAA world at the Gaelic Players Association's annual Pride Bunch last weekend. Shields is the first active male inter-county player to speak about being gay since former Cork hurler Donal Og Cusack, while Tyrone club footballer Kevin Penrose spoke about his experience on The GAA Social earlier this says he hopes his story will help young Gaelic games players who are struggling to express their sexuality."I feel it's just important to tell my own story of 12-15 years playing inter-county, my experience of coming through the ranks, being a senior inter-county player in the male GAA environment," said Shields in a video posted on the GPA's Instagram account."It was a daunting task coming out, whenever it was, about 10-12 years. The culture has changed within society, within the group in Armagh. I feel that I can express myself more. The group are more accepting."The language used around the group is changing. There's people standing up for people, for myself in the group, whereas maybe that didn't happen that much before. I think the culture is changing within the GAA itself." 'I hope telling my story will help younger players' Whitecross club-man Shields says some of the language previously used in changing rooms was "hurtful", but that he feels more supported within the GAA now. "It's been excellent to have allyships and people advocating for it in social media, and around GAA set-ups, and the GPA," he said."I hope speaking out and telling my story will help that younger player, be it male or female, non-binary to express themselves in the GAA environment."Shields added that speaking to his sister helped him before he came out. "I had to find someone I trusted in, that was my sister," he said."I spoke to my sister a lot, and would have a close relationship with her, my partner as well. It's finding that someone you trust and you want to express yourself to them."I found that very helpful whenever I was trying to tell my story and trying to come out. They were the ones that stood by me throughout and supported me whenever I felt down or low in the dumps or in a dark place."It doesn't have to be in front of a group; it can be a one-to-one conversation with someone. That's how I found it easier, to have that walk on the beach, in a forest or just chatting to someone over a coffee. That was the easiest way for myself."

Deliveroo launch drone deliveries in Dublin

Deliveroo has launched drone deliveries in Dublin. Over the coming days, customers within a 3km radius of Blanchardstown will be able to order from local restaurants. Plans are to launch grocery and retail drop-offs within the next six months. The drone deliveries are powered by Manna, and the test phase in Blanchardstown will see orders from local restaurants flown to customers "in as little as three minutes". Deliveroo have said they will use the initial weeks to assess how drones can help serve suburban and harder to reach locations. Advertisement Restaurants included in using the drone deliveries will include Musashi, WOW Burger, Boojum and Elephant & Castle. This is the first time the platform has offered drone delivery for its customers anywhere in the world. Drones will be deployed from Manna's local delivery hub, flying at speeds of up to 80km/h with a flight time of as little as three minutes, Deliveroo said. Upon arrival, the drone hovers and lowers the food to the ground via a secure, biodegradable tether, ensuring a seamless and contact-free delivery experience. Carlo Mocci, chief business officer at Deliveroo, said that their mission is to bring local neighbourhood favourites to as many people's doors as possible. Advertisement "We're excited to explore how drones can help us reach new customers, complementing our existing rider model and if successful, the prospect of expanding drone deliveries across Ireland and into other markets." Eligible customers within the correct radius will need to validate their address via the app before it confirms a suitable pin location for a safe drop off, typically a driveway, front, or back garden. Once an order is placed, they will be able to track the delivery as usual and will be notified when the drone is nearby so they can receive the order.
