Kilmarnock confirm winger's exit after four year spell at Rugby Park
The 27-year-old made over 150 appearances for the club
Kilmarnock have confirmed that Danny Armstrong is departing the club after four years in Ayrshire.
The 27-year-old arrived from Raith Rovers in 2021 and went on to make 158 apperances in the blue and white stripes, netting 26 goals.
Along the way he helped the club return to the top flight in his debut season and earned plenty of plaudits during the 2023/24 campaign as he played an integral role in a fourth place finish and securing European football.
His form dipped last term, however, and he didn't find the net until the 33rd league game.
Armstrong is one of several key players out of contract at Rugby Park, with new boss Stuart Kettlewell looking to rebuild the squad. Strikers Bobby Wales and Innes Cameron have already announced their departures with moves to Swansea City and Barrow respectively, while Player of the Year Joe Wright and Players' Player of the Year Fraser Murray are amongst the names who could exit.

Speculation over a move to Old Trafford has been rife since Ruben Amorim's arrival, though missing out on European football was expected to be a blow. It is understood that the Swede has not be peturbed however and is open to the move. Gyokeres is valued at around £65m, a figure shy of his releasee clause after the forward made an agreement with Sporting to reman last summer. With Arsenal occupied by Benjamin Sesko currently, it is reported United have financially readied themselves to do a deal. Sancho stance Jadon Sancho has no intention of wearing Manchester United colours again per ESPN, despite Chelsea footing up £5m to avoid signing him on a permanent deal. And that stance matches that of his head coach, Ruben Amorim, though the pair have yet to work together. Sancho returned five goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, helping them win the Conference League. The winger failed to set the world alight at Stamford Bridge however, leaving interest in his signature uncertain. There is said to be tentative interest from West Ham in a deal but Sancho's wages are likely to prove problematic. The former Borussia Dortmund has another year left on his contract with United. Defender speaks on Man Utd desire Former Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier has admitted he would have loved to make a move to Manchester United. The Lille full-back, 33, has revealed he would quickly accept a transfer to the club if it was on the table. The Belgian international, who has one year remaining on his contract, also appears to accept that any chance of a deal is now gone. Meunir conceded a move to the 13-times Premier League champions could damage his affection for the club. Meunier told Gazet van Antwerpen: 'If they ever ask me, I'll cycle there [United]. But maybe it's better this way. "Suppose I play there and have a bad time. I wouldn't want to hate Manchester United, because I love that club so much. 'I went to watch them a few weeks ago, against Bilbao. In with the fans, singing fully. I am a real one. I go to watch them at least once every season. Franck Ribery has previously expressed his displeasure at missing out on the Ballon d'Or in 2013 to five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo and has once again hit out at the Portuguese forward Franck Ribery has mocked Cristiano Ronaldo 's claim about the Ballon d'Or after he revealed his three favourites. The latest iteration of the award is set to be handed out in a glitzy ceremony in Paris in September. Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele is among the favourites after helping the French side to the Champions League for the first time. Lamine Yamal and Mohamed Salah have also been mentioned as contenders for the award. Meanwhile, five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo has offered his take on this year's frontrunners and claimed that Dembele could be the favourite after his European success. He said: 'The individual awards have lost some consensus, I can't say anything about who should win. 'In my opinion, those who stand out and win the Champions League should win. But there is no consensus. 'I don't believe much in individual awards because I know what goes on behind the scenes. Lamine [Yamal] could win, like [Ousmane] Dembele or Vitinha, other emerging players… but individual awards are irrelevant.' Ribery has since replied with a scathing comment on social media. 'So you NEED to win the Champions League to win the Ballon d'Or?,' Ribery asked on Twitter alongside three laughing emojis. It is not the first time that Ribery has expressed his annoyance at missing out on the Ballon d'Or. The Frenchman was among the front-runners for the award back in 2013 after helping Bayern Munich to the Champions League crown. But he ended up finishing third behind Messi and Ronaldo - the latter claiming the crown with 27.99% of the votes. And that is a call that still wrangles with Ribery to his day.
