21 brilliant retro photos of Scotland fans at the famous 2-2 draw with England in 2017 at Hampden

Can you believe it has been eight years since Leigh Griffiths bagged those two unforgettable free-kicks for Scotland against England in the sun in front of a sold-out Hampden?
'I've not seen a football celebration in a ground like this for a long, long, long time,' remarked a crestfallen Gary Neville on co-commentary, as the then-Celtic forward fired two unstoppable free-kicks beyond the outstretched arm of Three Lions goalkeeper Joe Hart in the dying embers of the World Cup qualifier in Glasgow.
The home crowd exploded into scenes of wild celebration that have struggled to be matched since. Griffiths sprinted around the Hampden track as if he was a 200 metres runner and, for a moment, the southside of Glasgow was the place to be! It is one of the most iconic games in the history of the stadium. Okay, so Harry Kane's even later leveller spoiled it a little, but let's not labour on that ...
Were you there that day? If so, here are 21 of the best retro photos of Scotland fans during the famous 2-2 draw with England in 2017. Can you spot yourself in our gallery?

Part one complete as Popovic's Australia lock up World Cup berth

June 11 (Reuters) - Tony Popovic was already thinking about the improvements Australia needed to make for next year's World Cup finals soon after they sealed automatic qualification with a gritty 2-1 win in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Popovic took over as coach last September after the Socceroos made a poor start to the third round of Asian qualifying and has overseen five wins and three draws to book a ticket to North America. "Very, very satisfying right now, I'm sure it'll sink in as the days go by," he said shortly after the final whistle at Jeddah's King Abdullah Sports City. "It's been a very intense period since I've joined and I've loved it so far. We've done the first part, qualifying automatically, and now the next part is to be bigger and better for the World Cup." After beating Group C winners Japan 1-0 with a late goal in Perth last week, the Socceroos only needed to avoid a 5-0 loss to the Saudis to take their place in the finals for a sixth straight edition. They got the job done despite going a goal down in front of a hostile crowd, watching a Saudi player have a red card rescinded by VAR, and conceding a late penalty. Goalkeeper Mat Ryan, who was winning his 100th cap, saved the penalty to ensure that goals from Connor Metcalfe and Mitch Duke either side of halftime would give Australia all three points. "To do it here in this atmosphere, you've got to deal with the weather as well, and it's not easy to show that character resilience and then quality, to come back and actually take the lead and win the game," said Popovic. "For Matty Ryan, his career speaks for itself and there's a lot more for him to achieve ... but it's a day he'll never forget." Former centre half Popovic was a member of the Australia squad that reached the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time in 2006, a feat matched by Graham Arnold's team in Qatar three years ago. The 2006 squad had flair as well as the famed Australian resilience, and the task for Popovic over the next year is to build a team that can play a bit as well as fight. "We've built a good foundation now, and we want to really get better, get better kick on and try and do something special the World Cup," he said. "We need to play games to keep improving, giving other players that deserve it an opportunity and then we want to be a squad that's much better than what we are now. I think that's the expectation we should have."

Ed Sheeran reveals he has 24-hour security for himself, his kids and his wife out of fear of 'dangerous people' after attempted break-in

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has enlisted 24-hour security for himself and his family amid safety concerns about 'dangerous people'. The Galway Girl hitmaker, 34, made the confession on the latest episode of The Louis Theroux Podcast while discussing his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two daughters. Speaking about life in the limelight, Ed revealed there had been an attempted break-in at his sprawling Suffolk home, dubbed Sheeranville, and he brought in 24-hour security as a result. He said: 'I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids. 'I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened.' Louis appeared shocked, to which Ed added: 'Just so you know there's lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know a break-in attempt. 'In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye.' Elsewhere in the episode, Ed lifted the lid on his very famous pals ranging from Elton John and Dave to Stormzy. He also recalled how Van Morrison once woek him up at six in the morning after a boozy night out with golfer Rory McIlroy. He said: I was doing a gig in Belfast and my grandmother had come down to the gig and she loves golf. Rory had come down and she loved being around him. We stayed up super late talking to him, and I'd say we went to bed at like 4am. 'About 6am, I got a call on my hotel phone from the hotel — "Mr Morrison's in the lobby, he wants to have breakfast with you". I was half asleep and half drunk. So I just hung up and I was like, "I have no idea who Mr Morrison is". 'Then I got another call and they said, "Sorry, Van Morrison is in". I ran downstairs and there he was waiting for me and we had breakfast, which is really surreal.' Another of the stars Ed has been lucky enough to spend time with is Eminem, who the A Team star worked with on the rapper's 2018 song River. Ed said: 'He loves comic books, Marvel movies and video games. I sent him a Nintendo 64 with Goldeneye on it because he'd never played it.' And the singer also revealed he once gave Stromzy a lift to the pub after buying his first car, a Mini. 'He didn't fit in the back,' he said. 'He seems like he'd be quite shy but I don't think he is when you get to know him. His humour is very similar to mine.' Meanwhile, speaking about his pal Dave, he said: 'He's done a lot of production on the new record because aside from being a brilliant lyricist, he's also an incredible producer and writer.' It comes after Ed was spotted cheering on his favourite football team Ipswich Town alongside Lewis Capaldi at the Premier League match against West Ham United last month. The Give Me Love hitmaker appeared in jovial spirits alongside fellow singer Lewis, 28, in Ipswich, only for his beloved team to bid farewell to the Premier League after a 3-1 defeat. The beloved English songwriter beamed in the stands, in the early stages of the match, as he sported a black and white long-sleeve shirt and a fuchsia baseball cap. Ed enjoyed some time off at the football game after making a surprise appearance at Radio 1's Big Weekend the day before, where he performed a new song inspired by his $100 million copyright trial. The singer wrote the track after revisiting an old phone during the lawsuit over his hit 'Thinking Out Loud.' He had been accused of copying Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On but was cleared in court in 2023. Taking to the stage at the Liverpool-based festival, Ed opened up about the inspiration behind his new song Old Phone before performing it for the first time in front of a crowd. Referring to his copyright trial, told the crowd: 'The judge ordered me to give up my old devices to the other lawyers for them to go through all my text messages and emails and photos and stuff like that. 'And in that process I switched on a phone that I had not looked at in 10 years and it was like looking into the past and it was conversations with people who had passed away.'

Major EastEnders star is 'revealed as new landlady at the Queen Vic' after owners Linda and Elaine put iconic pub up for sale

Albert Square's next landlady at the Queen Vic pub has been revealed after owners Linda Carter and her mum Elaine Peacock were forced to put it up for sale. Leopard print-loving loudmouth Kat Moon, played by Jessie Wallace, is set to take over the EastEnders pub in her third time working behind the bar. She previously worked at the boozer alongside ex-husband Alfie Moon from 2010 to 2013. A source told The Sun: 'This will be Kat's third time working in the Queen Vic, but this will be her first time at the helm. 'It's a full-circle moment for the character, as when she first moved on to Albert Square in 2000, Kat gained employment as a barmaid at the pub. Then, ten years on, she helped Alfie. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'But now she's going to be the sole licensee of the boozer and it will kick-start a whole new chapter for the pub.' Kat has already been part of the soap's biggest storylines, including Alfie's prostate cancer battle and a failed marriage to Phil Mitchell. Kat's new job comes as she has tied the knot with Alfie (Shane Richie) for the third time this week — more than two decades after first saying 'I do'. The sale of the boozer comes after it blew up in February, claiming the lives of Martin Fowler (James Bye) and killer accountant Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman). MailOnline have contacted EastEnders' representatives for comment. In another major shake-up, Bobby Brazier is leaving his role on EastEnders after three years. The actor, 22, joined the soap in 2022 as Freddy Slater and even won the National Television Award for Rising Star for his work on the show. But Bobby has been inundated with other offers since taking part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023. A source told The Sun: 'This will be Kat's third time working in the Queen Vic, but this will be her first time at the helm. It's a full-circle moment for the character, as when she first moved on to Albert Square in 2000, Kat gained employment as a barmaid at the pub' According to The Sun, the actor will leave Albert Square later this year. An EastEnders spokeswoman said: 'We can confirm that Bobby Brazier will be leaving EastEnders, and we wish him all the best for the future.' A source added: 'Bosses had a meeting with Bobby only recently as they had a plan in mind for a storyline, and it just so happened that Bobby was also thinking that now was the right time to look for other opportunities outside the show. 'The timing of the decision worked for both, but his final scenes are not for a while yet. The character has had a great run, but the time is now right for Bobby to look for other opportunities, and for EastEnders to wave goodbye to Freddie Slater.'
