Why are there so many Scousers at Glastonbury?
There's an old adage that you are never more than a few feet away from a Scouser at Glastonbury.A fashion brand owner from Liverpool, who says she has been "dressing every Scouse girl" for the festival since 2017, certainly agrees."We have an absolute ball - it's a little community," says Ormskirk-based Scouser Sophie Ackers, who owns the Secret Garden label."People always say 'Oh My God, there's so many Scousers' because there's always a massive gang that goes."
"Scousers do love a party and music brings people together," Sophie adds.She reckons the fact that many Liverpudlians are not afraid to stop and chat with strangers means they are more likely to be seen and heard at the festival in Somerset."Everyone's so friendly here, you can sit on the bus and make a best friend!"The 34-year-old says she loves hearing about the lengths that people from Liverpool will go to in order to attend the festival.She jokes: "I think last year a man dressed as a woman to get in, the year before someone dressed as a paramedic with all the kit and walked in!"
Paddy Gordon, who runs Pilton Hill, an off-site Glastonbury camping site in Shepton Mallet, says Scousers make up a "good proportion" of his guests. He says Liverpudlians are "always good characters" and tend to stand out in the festival crowds."So many great bands from Liverpool have played Glastonbury so there's also that link."They like a good party and they know their music."One of my best Glastonbury memories was being right in the thick of it surrounded by Scousers singing along while Paul McCartney was playing."
One festival-goer tells BBC News: "There are a lot of Scousers, [it's] everyone you see."And you can just tell when you see them as well by what they're wearing."Another suggests it might be Merseyside's love of house music that draws people to Glastonbury.He says: "All Scousers love a party, all Scousers love house music. So obviously it's a collective area where a lot of people come together."It's the best festival isn't it?"

Monica - who describes herself an actor in her Instagram bio - wrote in the caption: 'a million times, yes' along with a red heart and an engagement ring emoji. Jordan first was on Hollyoaks in 2019, arriving as a drug dealer intending to sell ketamine to Sid Sumner (Billy Price). He was heavily involved in the county lines drug storyline that came to an end in 2021, but was fatally stabbed in December 2020. Since leaving Hollyoaks, actor Connor has appeared in hit Netflix series Adolescence portraying PC Jenkins. He has also appeared in Netflix's Stay Close and BBC drama Casualty, as well as sitcom Flatmates. In terms of films, he has starred in The King's Man and Last Night in Soho.

The actor took to the stage on Saturday to introduce Jade Thirlwall for her debut solo performance at Worthy Farm. And following his role, he took to Instagram to share his delight. POP singer Kate Nash has taken a swipe at Denise Welch while performing at Glastonbury. The star, 37, headlined the Left Field tent at the festival and launched into a foul-mouthed tirade at various people including JK Rowling, Rod Stewart - and surprisingly the Loose Women favourite. 4 4 4 Kate ranted: 'The music industry doesn't know what to do with me. They tried to get rid of me, but they didn't. There is a record executive sweating their t*** off with Matt Healy 's mum. 'They're scared of me. I like that. But I was made of mother f****** bricks. But they didn't believe me. I even gave them a second warning a few years later when I told them 'Do not underestimate the girl'. Is it my fault they didn't believe me? 'I'm not going to give my third warning. It's too late for that. I'm taking my bricks and I'm throwing them through the f****** window.' Denise was at Glastonbury this weekend to support her son Matt Healy who was headlining with his band The 1975. Matt meanwhile preached love to fans during the band's set on the Pyramid Stage. Pausing between songs to address the crowd on Friday night, he said: "The lack of politics in this show, it is a conscious decision. "We don't want our legacy to be one of politics - we want it to be that of love and friendship. "You go out into the world and there is loads of politics. We don't need more, we need more love and friendship. "If you are a young kid and inspired about this band, aspire for friendship and love in what you do and you will never fail - and I love you." Last year Kate revealed she had joined OnlyFans to fund her tour. She said the extra money meant she wouldn't have to compromise on things like staff wages and safe tour buses that aren't overcrowded. Kate said she was determined to put on a "high quality show for fans" and said of her money-making campaign: "I've got a great bum. "I often flash a bit anyway so it was a fun idea, but I didn't think it would get this much of a reaction." Kate's debut album, Made Of Bricks, which went straight to No1 when it came out in 2007. 4 Kate split from her label and self-released her third and fourth records, the latter being called Yesterday Was Forever in 2018. She previously revealed she found herself in financial difficulty. The Brit School alum told The Guardian of the dip in her success after Foundations and said: "I'd trusted the wrong people with my money, which meant I had to sell my flat and move back in with my parents. "I'd worked so hard and had nothing to show for it. The worst part was that I knew I wasn't going to give up. "I briefly thought I should become a teacher instead, but then I realised: 'How are you going to do that? You don't even have a degree because you didn't get into any universities.' "Having this career is about fighting your way through it."
