'There was a change in mood at Old Trafford'
Have Manchester United turned a corner? It is a question that has been asked multiple times this season already, but in light of their display against Real Sociedad on Thursday, things are looking more positive for Ruben Amorim's side. "They were much better," said BBC Radio 5 Live's Conor McNamara on The Commentators' View podcast. "It felt like how Old Trafford used to feel like back in the day."There was a buzz, an energy and a performance from the team that, quite frankly, hasn't been there."It felt like they were all on the same page and it has obviously come off the back of talk of a new stadium. There has been a lot of doom and gloom around the club and some of the players might have wondered if they were going anywhere, but then they see the plans for a new stadium and they then think: 'I want to be part of it.'"It felt like there was a change in mood at Old Trafford."Listen to the The Commentators' View podcast on BBC Sounds

BREAKING NEWS Club World Cup star is BLOCKED from entering the US with visa application denied twice 'over attempted robbery involvement' - leaving forgotten ex-Man United man to start
A Club World Cup star has been denied entry to the United States - paving the way for a former Manchester United star to grace the big stage. Boca Juniors defender Ayrton Costa is set to miss the tournament after his visa application was rejected twice for reasons the club did not disclose. Costa, 25, was named in an attempted robbery case in Argentina in 2018 but was granted probation in 2023 to avoid a trial, according to Mundo Deportivo. The case was classified as 'aggravated robbery in a populated area and as a group' and the record remains active and impacts his visa applications. He was also named in court documents as an accessory to a domestic violence murder for which his brother is the main defendant, according to Marca, but was never charged. Costa suffered a similar ban in 2023 while he was a player for Independiente, though that was not for the Club World Cup. His absence means that former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo, 35, is expected to get the nod in Boca's defence.
