Craven County highlights need for Move Over law awareness
CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Craven County Sheriff's Office reminds people to move over for emergency vehicles due to the North Carolina Move Over Law.
This law is designed to protect law enforcement officers, emergency responders, and NCDOT roadside workers.
What the law requires:
If you are approaching an emergency or service vehicle stopped on the side of the road with flashing lights:
Move over one lane, if it's safe to do so.
If you can't move over, slow down significantly.
If you fail to adhere to these requirements:
A minimum $250 fine.
Misdemeanor or felony charges if injury or property damage occurs.
Safety Reminders:
Reduce speed and change lanes when approaching flashing lights.
Stay focused—avoid distractions.
Watch for personnel outside their vehicles.
Resume normal driving only once it's safe to do so.

Car show takes place in Waterford
Car enthusiasts took to the Waterford Historic District to see some historic cars. The Gazebo Park in Waterford filled with vintage automobiles, one dating back to 1914. Attendees could also find live music and food vendors in the park. The car show is currently on its 49th year. Erie Zoo hosts Equipment Day One organizer said it has to do with the simple love for cars that keeps people coming back. 'We've got people here that come back year after year after year, and they sit and they talk with their friends,' said Howard Krack, chairman of the car show. 'We especially like to see the children, and the children like to see the cars. Kids ask a lot of questions, and it's nice when kids want to sit in the car, and we let them.' Lancaster County roadway closed for two weeks
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A Lancaster County roadway will be closed during the day this week while crews work on a road project. According to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department, Hickory Road will be closed between North Penryn Road and White Oak Road during daytime hours from Monday, June 9, to Friday, June 13. The roadway will also be closed from Monday, June 16, through Friday, June 20. The closure will last from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, per police.
