Dodgers smack 4 homers, coast to victory over A's
May 15 - Shohei Ohtani, Andy Pages, Hyeseong Kim and Max Muncy each hit home runs and the Los Angeles Dodgers evened a three-game series against the visiting Athletics with a 9-3 victory Wednesday.
Miguel Rojas delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the sixth inning, while right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (5-3) gave up three runs on four hits in six innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
With the victory, the reigning World Series-champion Dodgers are just 5-5 since a seven-game winning streak ended May 4.
Tyler Soderstrom hit a home run for the A's, who are 14-8 in road games even after the loss. Right-hander Gunnar Hoglund (1-1) gave up four runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings of his third career start. He added three walks and five strikeouts.
After scoring their lone run against the A's on Tuesday on an error, the Dodgers generated offense early. Ohtani hit his 13th home run of the season leading off the bottom of the first inning, the 15th leadoff homer of his career.
The Dodgers made it 2-0 in the second inning when Pages hit his own leadoff home run, his seventh of the season.
After hitting five home runs in an 11-1 victory over the Dodgers on Tuesday, the A's tied it in the third inning when Soderstrom hit a two-run shot to center, his 10th of the season. It was the fifth home run allowed by Yamamoto, who entered with a 1.80 ERA.
The A's grabbed a 3-2 lead in the fourth inning when Shea Langeliers walked and Miguel Andujar hit a one-out RBI double.
The Dodgers pulled even at 4-4 in the fifth when Kim, their No. 9 hitter, hit the first home run of his career just over the wall in right-center in his first career start at home.
The No. 9 spot came through for the Dodgers again in the sixth, when Rojas pinch-hit for Kim and hit a two-out RBI double to right-center that scored Michael Conforto from first base for a 4-3 lead.
Mookie Betts gave the Dodgers some breathing room in the eighth inning with a two-run double against right-hander Tyler Ferguson. Muncy followed three batters later with a three-run home run, his second of the year.

Lizzo baffles fans with bizarre first pitch at Dodgers game after opening up about Ozempic use
Lizzo was on hand with an unusual first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the San Diego Padres on Thursday. After being invited to take part in the traditional pregame ceremony at Dodger Stadium, the 37-year-old singer left fans baffled with her strange approach to pitching. She first took her place on the mound as Dodgers star Mookie Betts waited in preparation to take the catch, only to run forward while pretending to throw the ball twice. Lizzo then turned around and ran back to the mound, before finally throwing a pitch into Betts which bounced before finding his glove. A number of fans were left confused by her two fake throws, with one writing on X: 'The longest, most pointless and stupidest first pitch ever'. Another commented: 'So stupid. Stop trying to make it about you'. While a third simply asked: 'What the f*** is this?' Others, however, saw the funny side of Lizzo's twist on pitching. 'Love it,' one fan commented while another said 'still better than 50 Cent', referencing the rapper's infamous first pitch at a 2014 New York Mets game, widely considered one of the worst of all time. Lizzo just threw out a very interesting first pitch at Dodger Stadium 🤣 — Dodgers Nation (@DodgersNation) June 20, 2025 This comes after she admitted to briefly using Ozempic to aid in her extreme weight loss transformation. Lizzo talked about her Ozempic use during Thursday's episode of Trisha Paytas's Just Trish podcast. The singer revealed she started to take the GLP-1 medication at the beginning of her weight loss journey in 2023, but soon came to the conclusion that it wouldn't help her in the long term. Lizzo said: 'I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full. But if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing.' Many of her fans turned on her after she 'lied' for months and previously denied Ozempic allegations, claiming she achieved her much slimmer figure through 'weight lifting and calorie deficit'. She also added that she started getting results when she stopped being vegan after many years of not eating meat. Lizzo explained: 'What did it for me is, it was not being vegan. Because when I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats. I was eating a lot of bread. I was eating a lot of rice and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full. 'When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that wasn't actually filling me up.' Criticism: Social media users reacted strongly to her Ozempic confession Supportive: However, other fans praised her for admitting it despite previously denying the rumors

Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers emerge with win over Nationals
June 21 - Miguel Rojas hit a two-run home run and Clayton Kershaw inched closer to 3,000 career strikeouts as the Los Angeles Dodgers earned a 6-5 victory over the visiting Washington Nationals on Friday. Kershaw (3-0) gave up two runs on five hits and two walks in five innings. He fanned four, to move within eight of becoming the 20th pitcher with 3,000 strikeouts and the fourth left-hander. Andy Pages had an RBI single in a three-run third inning and Shohei Ohtani reached base three times with an RBI single as the Dodgers rebounded from a loss to the San Diego Padres on Thursday while improving to 9-3 since June 8. Amed Rosario, Riley Adams and CJ Abrams homered for the Nationals, who had ended an 11-game losing streak Thursday. Rosario gave the Nationals a 1-0 lead as the second batter of the game when he homered off Kershaw, his fourth. The Dodgers took the lead for good in the third. Mookie Betts' fielder's-choice grounder scored Enrique Hernandez for a 1-1 tie. Los Angeles took a 2-1 lead on a two-out infield single from Teoscar Hernandez when shortstop Abrams was unable to get a force out at second base. Pages singled for the third run of the inning. The Dodgers went up 4-1 in the fourth on Ohtani's run-scoring single before the Nationals got the run back on Adams' leadoff homer in the fifth, his third. Rojas' two-run home run in the sixth, his third, knocked Washington starter MacKenzie Gore from the game. Gore (3-7) gave up six runs (five earned) on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with four walks and four strikeouts. The Nationals pulled within 6-4 in the seventh inning on a two-run double from Luis Garcia Jr. One batter later, with two runners in scoring position, Los Angeles left fielder Michael Conforto preserved the lead with a diving catch. Dodgers commit $1M toward families of immigrants 'impacted' by events
Meanwhile, the Dodgers have been heavily criticized for both action and inaction from their heavily Latino fan base. Manager Dave Roberts stated he didn't have enough information to opine on the situation, and the club came under more scrutiny after R&B singer Nezza sang the national anthem in Spanish at Dodger Stadium, and posted videos and correspondence showing it was against the Dodgers' wishes. Veteran utilityman Kike Hernandez posted a message of support on Instagram, and in the days following the club indicated it would soon show support for the area's immigrant population. In partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Dodgers have committed $1 million toward direct financial assistance for families of immigrants impacted by recent events in the region. Additional community efforts to be announced in the coming days. — Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) June 20, 2025 Then came Thursday's caravan of DHS vans and vehicles to the Dodger Stadium gate, where they apparently hoped to use the grounds for staging. Protestors arrived and DHS officials were eventually escorted out a separate exit by the Los Angeles Police Department. But many remained and turned their grievances toward the Dodgers for staying largely neutral at a time the community was reeling. The Dodgers' statement nodded non-specifically toward events in the area while not referencing ICE, DHS or other outside forces. "What's happening in Los Angeles has reverberated among thousands upon thousands of people, and we have heard the calls for us to take a leading role on behalf of those affected," said Dodgers president Stan Kasten, whose club generated an estimated $752 million in revenue last season and is valued at nearly $7 billion. "We believe that by committing resources and taking action, we will continue to support and uplift the communities of Greater Los Angeles." Mayor Karen Bass indicated the external infringement on the community has had an impact. "These last weeks have sent shockwaves of fear rippling through every neighborhood and have had a direct impact on our economy," Bass said.
