2 SacRT light rail lines disrupted after pedestrian hit, killed by train
SACRAMENTO – Two Sacramento Regional Transit lines were disrupted after a person was hit and killed by the train on Wednesday evening.
SacRT says the collision happened at the 29th Street light rail station and that the Sacramento Police Department is at the scene investigating.
The police department said the collision happened just after 5:45 p.m.
The collision has impacted the Gold and Blue lines. A bus is shuttling between Broadway and Cathedral Square on the Blue Line, while a shuttle system is in place between Sacramento Valley and Power Inn stations for the Gold Line.
No other injuries were reported.

Why would we give up on such a vital resource seeing skyrocketing demand? The cuts in Gov. Gavin Newsom's May Revise are so severe that we would only be able to answer about 5% of requests for help, leaving tens of thousands to suffer in silence. We wouldn't be able to stay open. Person on tracks snags CTA Blue Line on Chicago's Near West Side
CTA Blue Line trains were disrupted on Chicago's Near West Side during the Tuesday evening rush due to an unauthorized person on the tracks. The Chicago Transit Authority said just before 5:30 p.m., Blue Line trains were halted near the Racine stop on the Eisenhower Expressway branch of the line. Sinkhole delay: MBTA line paused as hole opens on bridge in East Boston
The MBTA hit pause on train service through East Boston for an hour Monday evening after a sinkhole opened on a bridge above its railroad tracks, authorities said. Around 5:30 p.m., the agency ordered Blue Line trains to stand while officials inspected a bridge over the tracks between Wood Island and Orient Heights stations. MBTA officials soon said shuttle buses would replace train service on part of the Blue Line while Boston public works employees addressed the sinkhole. Shuttle buses ferried riders between Logan International Airport and Suffolk Downs until roughly 6:40 p.m., the MBTA said. Trains were held to reduced speeds after service resumed as work crews repaired the bridge. A 311 report to the city of Boston included a photo of a small hole in the pavement on a bridge by the intersection of Byron Street and Cowper Street.
