It was not right – Max Verstappen takes blame for crash with George Russell
Russell said he felt Verstappen's move was deliberate and accused the Red Bull driver of letting himself down. He also suggested that Verstappen should have been disqualified for the crash.
Verstappen refused to accept blame for the coming together after the race and even sarcastically offered Russell a tissue after he was informed of his British rival's criticism.
However, in a message posted on social media on Monday, Verstappen said: 'We had an exciting strategy and good race in Barcelona, till the safety car came out.
'Our tyre choice to the end and some moves after the safety car restart fuelled my frustration, leading to a move that was not right and shouldn't have happened.
'I always give everything out there for the team and emotions can run high. You win some together, you lose some together. See you (at the next race) in Montreal.'
Verstappen, who was on the slower hard tyre compound, lost third place to Charles Leclerc after he opened the door to the Ferrari driver when he made a mistake on the exit of the final corner in a six-lap shootout to the flag following the deployment of a safety car.

Russell then attempted to sling his Mercedes underneath Verstappen's Red Bull at the first corner before the Dutchman took to the escape road and remained ahead of the Briton.
'Max, can you let Russell through, please?' said Verstappen's race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase.
'What? I was ahead, mate. What the f***! He just ran me off the road.'
Verstappen slowed down at turn five to allow Russell past, but then accelerated and drove into his rival's Mercedes.
'What the f***'?' Russell said on the radio. Verstappen later moved out of Russell's way and crossed the line in fifth.
However, he was hit with a timed penalty by the stewards – demoting him to 10th – and also punished with three penalty points on his licence which leaves him just one point away from a race ban. He now trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 49 points in the standings.

It marked another controversial chapter in Verstappen's career following run-ins last year with Lando Norris and multiple clashes with Lewis Hamilton in their title duel four years ago.
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, who has been linked with a move for Verstappen, said: 'I don't know exactly what the motivations were and I don't want to jump on it and say it was road rage, but it wasn't nice.
'The great ones, whether it's in motor racing or in other sports, you just need to have the world against you and perform at the highest possible level.
'That's why sometimes these greats don't recognise that actually the world is not against you, it's just you who has made a mistake or screwed up.'

'We also have been developing a clear football style and identity and that's work that's been going on behind the scenes. It's been led by Kevin and it's involved football people. 'We've now culminated in appointing Russell and in Russell we've got a head coach who aligns to the footballing style and identity that we've been developing. 'In addition to wanting a head coach who's going to excel in terms of the style that we're looking to play as a club, we also were looking for a head coach that's going to improve our culture, develop our squad and ultimately win matches. And Russell's been a standout candidate. 'This appointment is about building a winning team and a strong culture. 'Now, Russell's no stranger to our club, as you know, he's been a player here previously and we expect success and Russell knows that. We're really, really excited for his leadership and for him to get started.' Martin will be joined at Ibrox by assistant head coach Matt Gill and performance coach Rhys Owen. A new share issue at the club's general meeting on June 23 will raise £20million, the bulk of which will be going to the football department. Thelwell insisted that Martin will be involved in any new recruits. He said: 'When we talk about recruitment, clearly it's going to be a collaborative approach. 'I've never been in this role ever where I've signed a player for the first team that hasn't been supported by the head coach or the manager. So we'll talk a lot about how we want to play. 'We'll talk a lot about what profiles we think we need and what positions we think we need. 'And then between Russell and I, and the recruitment team, we'll sit down and identify players that we think can make us better very quickly. And then between us, we'll decide about what we do next. 'That's generally how I've worked and generally how we've discussed how it's going to work. And for me, that's probably been a good way of working so that we've got some clarity.'

Classy Calandagan chasing Coronation Cup crown
No stranger to British soil, Francis-Henri Graffard's four-year-old won the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last term, but then had to settle for second when returning for top-table action against City Of Troy in the Juddmonte International and then in the season-ending Champion Stakes. 'We would really love a first Group One with him and that's what we would like to do this year, he deserves to win a Group One and we're hoping it will be on Friday,' said Nemone Routh, racing manager for owners the Aga Khan Studs. 'I suppose the only real doubt is handling the track and he's probably never run on anything like Epsom before. 'He's a very balanced horse and we imagine he is going to be OK but you never know until they get there and run. We are confident he is going to run well, he always runs well.' Calandagan was again runner-up at the highest level when returning to action in Dubai in April, with this race immediately earmarked for the gelding's next outing, a ploy the owners almost pulled off with Meydan scorer Dolniya in 2015 when going down narrowly to Pether's Moon at Epsom. 'We were happy with his run in the Sheema Classic, he got a little bit far back but that's because he was drawn on the inside and he's not a horse with a huge amount of early speed,' continued Routh. 'I'm never surprised when they get beat. Obviously he was a Leger winning starting back over a mile and a quarter, so he was always going to lack race sharpness and fitness at that time of the year. 'Joseph's horse beat him nicely on the day, but we thought it did our horse good and he learnt a lot and he came out of the race well.'
